During an episode of Hot Ones, Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood shared a story of his first day of filming The Fellowship of the Ring. However, this first day was more memorable than most as he was a little flatulent on set. While being interviewed for the spicy wing series, Wood recounts his memorable day. "It was the first day of filming, day one. The scene is, we are rolling down the hill after Merry and Pippin run into us, running away from farmer Maggot's field, having stolen a bunch of vegetables. They bang into us. We roll down the hill. So it's picking up that moment of falling down the hill and falling on top of each other in a very comedic way."And I think it was like, take two. And I had a--what is that a concussion fart?--a fart that is brought on by pressure, and yeah, I literally fell, [fart noise] and everybody burst out laughing. It's very funny. It's a hell of a way to start filming Lord of the Rings."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Following numerous rumors, a report has verified that Rockstar is working on remasters for three of the most revered Grand Theft Auto games in the series. Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City remasters are all said to be in development for multiple platforms, from current-generation consoles to mobile devices.Kotaku reports to have spoken to three sources involved with the project, each of whom says that this has been in the works at Rockstar for some time. At one point it was planned for the remaster collection to be offered to players who purchased the upcoming remaster for Grand Theft Auto V on Xbox Series X and PS5, but say that plans have since shifted to a standalone collection release. These remasters were also reportedly meant to come out earlier this year, but the COVID-19 pandemic delayed development. The report states that the remasters will likely be bundled into a collection and sold digitally on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia, and mobile. Some versions will be out this year while others, such as PC and mobile, might not be ready until 2022. The games are being remastered in the Unreal Engine, but care is apparently being taken to not stray from the overall look and feel of the PS2-era open-world games. The UI is being sharpened up for higher resolution displays, but the style will not be changing, according to the report.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Call of Duty Season 5 officially goes live in Black Ops Cold War on August 13, but players can get their hands on the season's new flamethrower scorestreak early. The flamethrower became available for players to use in multiplayer after the update installed today. For Black Ops Cold War, the flamethrower is a low-end scorestreak with a cost of 1500, and it functions exactly how you'd expect, shooting out a stream of fire for a deadly close-range attack. The streak does have a 90-second cooldown, so even though it's a low-end streak, players won't be able to call in back-to-back flamethrowers while going on high killstreaks. A flamethrower is not a subtle streak to use, but it could be perfect for those aggressive players looking to clear enemies off an objective, or just create some chaos at close-range.The flamethrower is a Call of Duty throwback, and a weapon that's been featured in many ways over the course of the franchise. In 2008's Call of Duty: World at War, the M2 Flamethrower was a weapon that could be equipped to your loadout. It also appeared in the form of an attachment and as a Specialist weapon in later years.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Razer has announced a new entry into its consumer earphone range, this time with the Hammerhead True Wireless Earbuds. They feature many of the staples you'd expect from a product of this kind, including long battery life, active noise canceling, and a nice charging case. They also have RGB, because this is still a Razer product after all. Razer Hammerhead True Wireless Earbuds $130 The Razer Hammerhead True Wireless Earbuds are available today from Razer's website, retailing for $130. Orders will ship the next business day, with only a Black option available for now (previous models came in white and quartz pink, too). See at Razer The Razer Hammerhead True Wireless feature a design strikingly similar to the Apple AirPods, which is fine considering how great those are. They have a short stem that will stick out of your ears, with microphones pointing toward your mouth for clarity. The earbuds also feature dual microphones used for active noise canceling, which should do a decent job of identifying low frequencies around you and filtering them out accordingly. Razer says you can expect more than 32 hours of battery life from the earbuds thanks to the battery found in the case, which has a nice matte black finish with the familiar green Razer logo. Two features of the Hammerhead are quite specific to Razer's gaming roots. The earbuds feature Razer's Chroma RGB, which illuminate the small logo on each bud. They're small enough that it'll probably be hard for anyone to notice them, but you'll know they're spitting out a rainbow pattern and that's certainly what counts. Razer also says that the Hammerhead features only 60ms of latency, which will make it useful when paired with devices with an equally modern Bluetooth standard for mobile gaming.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

It's not just several pieces of Exotic armor that are changing in Destiny 2 when its new season starts on August 24. A host of armor mods are also getting adjustments, which will likely further change a lot of character builds for players as they adjust to the new Destiny 2 metagame. Warmind Cells in particular are getting toned down, and mods for tracking down particular kinds of ammo are getting reworks as well.Bungie laid out a few of the changes we can expect in its This Week At Bungie blog post. The biggest alteration is the nerfing of Warmind Cells, which are essentially bombs you can generate by killing enemies in the game, provided you have the right mods equipped to your armor and use weapons from the "Seventh Seraph" group. Various Warmind mods change how you can interact with the cells on the battlefield--some make cells explode in huge blasts, while others heal you when cells blow up. With the right mods, enemies are debuffed when they're near cells, and you can buffs when you get close to them. With a smart combination of mods and weapons, Warmind Cells can be extremely powerful, but Bungie wrote in its TWAB post that at this point, the cells are too powerful for the PvE game. When they were first introduced in the Season of the Worthy, that was kind of the point, and Bungie really only expected to keep Warmind Cells around for about a year. Since they've persisted in the game, they've unbalanced it to some degree, so Bungie's ratcheting down how powerful they can be. That's being done with adjustments to several Warmind armor mods:Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

That's why Nintendo Switch skins are such an appealing option: They're much cheaper, offer a broader range of designs and colors, and also add an extra layer of protection to your console (many of them come with a screen protector as well). Though you'll likely still want a carrying case to fully protect your Switch while you're out and about, Switch skins can help guard against everyday wear and tear. And whether you're looking to rep a specific franchise (like The Legend of Zelda), sport a cutesy theme, or customize your design, there are some excellent and affordable Switch skins out there worth considering. Are Nintendo Switch skins safe to use? This is still a common concern for many people considering whether or not to skin their Switch, and it actually stems from one of the brands featured on this list: Dbrand. Back in 2017, Dbrand warned gamers against using any Nintendo Switch skins because, in their early testing, they discovered that the Joy-Con coating was susceptible to damage from their adhesive when the skin was removed. However, Dbrand has since developed a new type of adhesive that is easily removed without any damage (you can read more about it on their website), and other companies have followed suit to create skins that are perfectly safe to use. Every Nintendo Switch skin on this list can be safely used and removed without leaving damage on your Switch or Joy-Cons.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Disney has two highly-anticipated movies hitting theaters very soon: Free Guy arrives on August 13 and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings on September 3. However, unlike Black Widow and Jungle Cruise, these two films will not be available at release on Disney+'s Premier Access. During an investor call, Disney CEO revealed why."[Free Guy] is a title that we acquired under the distribution assumption and set of agreements," explained Chapek during the call. "We don't have that degree of freedom on Free Guy."Ryan Reynolds' upcoming action/comedy Free Guy was originally a 20th Century Fox production, prior to Disney's acquisition of the company. Because of deals made behind close doors, it will be released theatrically.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Mossmouth has announced that both Spelunky and Spelunky 2 will launch on Nintendo Switch on August 26. Lord of the Rings was borne of the mind of British author J.R.R. Tolkien, but brought to life in the early 2000s by Kiwi director Peter Jackson. While the films and the first season of the upcoming show were shot in New Zealand, though, the series is heading back to its birthplace for Lord of the Rings Season 2, Variety reports. The as-yet-untitled series completed shooting this month and is now moving into post-production. For Season 2, though, the show reportedly will make the move to the United Kingdom in 2022."As we look to relocate the production to the U.K., we do not intend to actively pursue the Season One MoU five percent financial uplift with the New Zealand government or preserve the terms around that agreement," said Amazon Studios COO Albert Cheng. The first part of that statement is the important part--official confirmation from Cheng that the production is heading to the U.K.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Making fun of a place usually isn't the best way to get a job there, but it turns out that it worked swimmingly for comedian and actor Bill Burr, he revealed on the Your Mom's House podcast recently (via The Hollywood Reporter).Burr featured in an episode each of The Mandalorian Season 1 and Season 2 as mercenary Migs Mayfeld."I went to [director] Mike Binder's birthday and Jon [Favreau] was there, and he said, 'Hey, we're writing this thing. We kind of have you in mind. Do you want to do it?' And I said, 'I don't know, Jon. I have teased Star Wars people a lot.' He goes, 'I know. I listen to the podcast a lot. I think it would be funny if you got in it,'" Burr told host Tom Segura. "My wife was kicking me under the table and I was like, 'all right, I'll do it.'"Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

There's finally some good news in store for HBO Max subscribers--according to Vulture, the execs behind the platform are aware of the app's unpredictable instability, and are reportedly getting ready to do something about addressing it. An unnamed WarnerMedia exec has gone on record, promising that an entirely new app is coming."We're going to replace every single connected TV app in the next four or five months," said the exec. The upgraded app has been in development since late last year, and is expected to roll out to Roku and PlayStation users first (though no timeline was disclosed), with AppleTV coming before the end of 2021, while mobile and web-based apps are being slated for "early 2022."The same exec quoted above also promised it "will be wildly better than what's out there" and "just work better across the board." Of course, easier said than done--the real proof will be once customers have the app installed and use it at their leisure to pressure-test and watch content as they would normally. HBO Max has apparently blamed the recurring issues on complications from the ad-supported tier, distributing programming to non-English speaking markets, and that HBO Max was running on a retrofitted version of the old HBO Go and HBO Now services.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
