Publisher Bandai Namco has announced that Season 4 of Tekken 7 kicks off this fall on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. With the start of Season 4 comes a new character, an additional stage, and various gameplay updates.Headlining the Season 4 update is the added character Kunimitsu, the daughter of Kunimitsu from the original Tekken. This second-generation Kunimitsu shares a lot of similarities with her mother, including the fox masks both kunoichi wear. She's agile and ferocious at close-range, with abilities that allow her to juggle opponents high into the air before slamming them back down to the ground.Along with Kunimitsu is a new stage, Vermillion Gates. This stage is soaked in the glow of white moonlight, surrounded by cherry blossoms and Torii gates. The CW's Batwoman premiered less than a year ago, but it's already undergone a major casting change. In May, star Roby Rose revealed that she was stepping down from the lead role as Kate Kane. Instead of recasting the character, Season 2 will feature an entirely new Batwoman, Ryan Wilder, to be played by Javicia Leslie. The first image of Leslie in costume has now been revealed.Leslie posted the picture herself on Instagram, wearing the familiar Batwoman costume against a black background. Have you ever wanted to use a stalk of corn to shoot kernels at your friends? If so, there's a new shooter that's right in your wheelhouse, and it's currently at the top of the Xbox One's digital charts. That game is Shotgun Farmers, and it sounds like a bizarre fever dream triggered by an autumnal trip to the pumpkin patch, complete with vegetable-themed weapons like the long-ranged Snigeragus and a literal pineapple grenade. Also, your missed shots grow more guns, which seems strangely appropriate.A few factors have likely led to the surprise success of the game. For one, its asking price is only $10, which is much less than other paid shooters; for another, the farm-themed gunplay is friendly for all-ages; and finally, developer Megastorm Games has promoted the game heavily on social media under the name "QaziTV," particularly the platform TikTok. Many of its posts on the service have more than 1 million views.QaziTV has uploaded videos to YouTube and TikTok that detail future plans for the game, including a Gun Game/Arms Race style mode called Crop Swap. Fans of farm-based puns and simple arena shooters may find a lot to like here. Minecon is being replaced with Minecraft Live, which this year will be held as a virtual event. Mojang noted in the event announcement that attendees will be able to vote on the next Minecraft mob, and now the studio has shown the three you get to choose from.According to the announcement, all three hail from other Minecraft games so the vote is really on which one to import into Minecraft proper. Those include the Iceologer from Minecraft Dungeons, who occupies snowy and icy areas. If brought into Minecraft, it will occupy mountainous areas and fling ice clouds at you. The Moobloom from Minecraft Earth is a passive cow with flowers growing on its back, and it has a special interaction with bees that make your Flower Forest biomes even more floral. The blockbuster legal clash between Apple and Fortnite developer Epic Games over App Store pie-slicing continues to wreak havoc on the world of tech, producing all sorts of ripple effects. As predicted by a new report from Bloomberg, Google has clarified its approach to its own Google Play Store. Specifically, it's making it clearer to developers that apps on Google Play must use Google's billing system for in-app purchases. That would allow for the company to ensure it receives an Apple-esque 30% cut on in-app purchases.The Play Store billing system has existed for years, but Google has historically been quite lenient about forcing apps to use it, allowing them to use their own billing services to avoid the levy. Unlike Apple, however, Google may be able to avoid charges of monopolistic practices, since the Android platform has more sources for apps than just the Play Store--even if the Play Store is the most well-known example. The company also said that it will make it easier to install and use third-party app stores in next year's Android 12. Specifics on how it will do so were not shared.Google says almost 97% of apps already use Google Play's billing, so it's a relative minority that will be forced to now comply. Google will give app developers a year-long grace period to comply with the new policy or move out of the Google Play Store, with the deadline set as September 30, 2021. During this weekend's Tokyo Game Show event, publisher Bandai Namco showed off a new trailer for its action-RPG Scarlet Nexus. On top of providing a glimpse at the characters Yuito Sumeragi will encounter during his journey, the trailer also revealed a new playable character.In fact, Yuito isn't the only Scarlet Nexus protagonist. Kasane Randall, an orphan brought in by the Randall family after her parents were killed by the monstrous beings known as The Others, will also be playable from the very start of the game. Players can choose between Kasane and Yuito to get two different perspectives of Scarlet Nexus' story. TikTok was scheduled to be banned from app stores on September 27, but a federal judge issued a last-minute ruling that blocked the US government order. TikTok, for now, remains available in US app stores.Earlier this year, the Trump administration ordered TikTok and WeChat to be removed from app stores starting September 20. However, TikTok's deadline was then moved to September 27 after Trump gave his preliminary approval on ByteDance's transition into a new company called TikTok Global, with Walmart and Oracle owning 20% of the company.ByteDance then filed for a preliminary injunction on September 23, seeking to prevent TikTok's imminent removal from app stores. In the motion, the tech company argued that the ban infringed upon its Fifth Amendment right to due process and First Amendment right to free speech. The ongoing legal tensions between Apple and Epic had a day in virtual court. The current situation hasn't changed in any notable ways yet--Apple's ban on Fortnite will continue for the time being--but it was overall a difficult day for Epic and set the stage for the case to be heard next July.CNET reports that California Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers upheld the ban and said the companies will hear from her in writing. She recommended a trial by jury, but that next step will be up to Apple or Epic to request. She noted that her courtroom is "just a stepping stone" toward the likely inevitability of a jury trial.Rogers took a harsh tone with Epic, saying that it had circumvented Apple's policy despite its contractual obligations. Yakuza: Like a Dragon finally received a release date for PS5 in March 2021, with developer RGG Studio also confirming a free cross-gen upgrade for all players. The big catch is that on Sony's consoles your saves won't be able to follow you across generations.RGG Studio confirmed on Twitter that both digital and physical versions of Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be able to be upgraded to their respective next-gen versions for free, after a bit of confusion over whether it would be exclusive to just digital copies. With Season 6 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone kicking off on September 29, publisher Activision has shared an overview trailer that provides a brief glimpse at the new subway station. This underground train will travel throughout Verdansk's large map, with various scheduled stops for players to engage in skirmishes or take in the views at a much faster pace.The trailer takes us through the various locations the subway station will stop at as it makes its way across Verdansk. This includes the train station itself, a downtown district, and the Verdansk airport. There are eight stops in total, all of which seem to support a variety of gameplay styles. The trailer also highlights what appears to be a series of new maps coming to both Modern Warfare and Warzone, such as a tank factory, broadcast station, Verdansk's riverside, and others.The trailer also teases an apparent "haunting" coming to Call of Duty on October 20.
