During Amazon Prime Day 2020, there are plenty of sales you'll want to partake in, from deals for Nintendo Switch to smart TVs and board games. However, while we tend to highlight some of the very best deals for Prime Day, it's time to look at some of the most absurd things on sale.Across Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and other retailers, there are plenty of discounted items you probably didn't know existed until today or things on sale that should have been discontinued years ago. These are all items that will have you scratching your heads--right before you sincerely say to yourself, "I need this, right?" FIFA 17 for Xbox One $15 (was $30) I am not much of a FIFA player, but I know it has a tremendous global appeal. Every year, EA Sports pumps out another one of these games, and people around the world pick it up. Discounting a previous year's game is par for the course when the latest addition has been released (FIFA 21 came out October 6), but discounting a game from four years ago when the previous two years' games are just a few dollars more, non-Prime Day priced, is a bit silly. But hey, if you want to pick up a game way out of date, go nuts.Hurry up though, this hot, hot deal on an old, old game ends on Wednesday, October 14! See at Target Gifts for Men Dad Husband $30 (was $37) You may be a little confused about the title of this product, and that's because it was so long, it had to be cut down. This Amazon product is actually called "Gifts for Men Dad Husband, Survival Gear and Equipment 12 in 1, Christmas Stocking Stuffers, Fishing Hunting Birthday Gifts Ideas for Him Boyfriend Teen Boy, Cool Gadget, Camping Survival Kit." As a man dad husband myself, I enjoy many tools, all of which are located in my toolbox, But if I'm on the go, all I really need are a flathead and Phillips screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, and a hammer. However, Gifts for Men Dad Husband is really focused on the survivalist. It's about the man dad husband who wants to escape his rigorous day-to-day life by spending time getting back to nature forest woods, away from civilization city humanity. See at Amazon Hover-1 Raptor Hoverboard Buggy Attachment with LED Fog Blasters and Sound Effects $70 (was $100) Do you have an undying need for younger people to accept you, so you buy the coolest tech for teens, but you're incredibly uncoordinated? Don't worry, Hover-1 has something for you that will make all the kids yell, "That person in their 30s is the most swag-fleek!" The Raptor Hoverboard Buggy Attachment--a phrase no one should ever have to write--allows you to ride your hoverboard without the fear of falling off and breaking an arm. Plus, it has LED lights, fog blasters, and makes sound effects. Celebrate your Third Life Crisis in style! See at Best Buy The Floor is Lava! $13 (was $17) There are a few childhood games that can be played for the low price of $0: hide and seek, tag, heads-up 7-up, and the floor is lava. However, Endless Games has found a way to make the floor is lava into a thing you pay for. Instead of jumping from one piece of furniture to another, you jump on foam tiles. There's also action cards that tell you to do things, like "touch your toes." Just do yourselves a favor and play the game for free, then watch the game show of the same name on Netflix. See at Target Kidzone DIY Number 6V Kids Toy Electric Ride On Bumper Car $150 (was $400) Someone has taken a seat to help infants sit up straight and put some remotely-controlled wheels and fancy lights on it. While it comes in a wide array of colors, what the Kidzone Bumper Car doesn't want you to know is that electric ride-on full cars cost around $150 or are less. It just seems like this Bumper Car is mere seconds away from tipping over. And just as a side note, anyone else find it super-weird that the title of the toy highlights the fact you have to put the number on the car yourself? See at Walmart Mr. Sketch Chiseled Tip Marker $10 (was $13) There is just something wonderfully nostalgic about markers that very vaguely smell like fruit. And something that never pops up in most of our minds is the ability to relive the moments when it was ok to sniff the markers. What is really weird about these markers are some of the smells. Aside from the traditional ones like cherry and grape, there are some ones that are really bizarre: nacho cheese, smoky cinnamon rocket fuel (cinnamon alone is already a smell), rotten melon alien ooze, and licorice. Come on, black licorice is gross. See at Amazon RENPHO Leg Massager $66 (was $90) For many people, a nice, long massage is the best way to wind down after being on your feet all day. However, with the RENPHO Leg Massager, you get to combine that with cosplaying as Robocop on the lower half of your body. It uses air to inflate the bags wrapped around your legs, so it's probably also exceptionally loud. But hey, at least you're comfortable, you cybernetic cop with a -30 roll to stealth. See at Amazon 20 Two-Way Walkie Talkies $164 (was $215) There is no denying that walkie talkies are pretty cool. And of course, you're going to need two of them to talk to someone else. However, this Amazon Prime Day deal comes with 20, so you'll have to find 19 friends to hand these out to. Obviously, this pack is geared toward construction workers or other jobs where many people need to keep in constant contact with each other but can't use computers. It's just bizarre to see this promoted in one of the electronic sections. See at Amazon Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you'll often be beset by the Yiga Clan when you're out and about in Hyrule. When you hear the words "free-to-play," you probably think of very specific kinds of games: mobile time-killers, first-person shooters with loot boxes, MMORPGs. However, a story-driven, open-world action-RPG in a similar vein to Zelda: Breath of the Wild is probably not what springs to mind. But that's exactly what Genshin Impact aims to be. It delivers a large, lore-filled, graphically lush world with nuanced combat, character-building, exploration mechanics, and co-op crossplay across multiple platforms at the most appealing price point possible--free! And while it succeeds admirably for the most part, it stumbles in a few key ways that remind you that there's no such thing as a fully free-to-play game.Genshin Impact makes a great first impression. The anime-inspired visuals are inviting and colorful, and the fully voiced, nicely choreographed cutscenes give the game the feel of a premium product. It also gets you going with the gameplay very quickly; thanks to solid control design, you'll be running, swimming, climbing, dodging, gliding, fighting slimes, and slinging spells just a few minutes after the intro cutscenes wrap up. And once your first additional party member officially joins your posse, things start to get very interesting, as you'll start to learn the ins and outs of the elemental interactions that make Genshin Impact unique. Each character in Genshin Impact has one of seven elemental properties tied to them, which greatly affects what they can do for combat and exploration. While systems of strong and weak elements are extremely common in games, Genshin Impact takes things a step further, introducing unique and interesting ways for multiple elements to interact with objects and enemies. It starts with simple interactions: an object aligned with Dendro (nature) like a wood shield or structure burns with damaging flames when exposed to Pyro attacks, while pools of water can be frozen with Cryo element skills or used as a conduit for causing Electro damage in an area. Experimenting with other elemental combinations will yield more interesting results; setting an enemy on fire and following up with an Electro attack overloads them with energy and causes area damage, while using a windstorm can blow another source of elemental damage like Pyro or Hydro elsewhere while augmenting its strength.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

It looks like Level-5, developer of Yo-Kai Watch and Ni No Kuni, has basically shut down its North American operations, as reported by GamesIndustry.biz.According to multiple sources informed on the matter, both Level-5 International America and its subsidiary office Level-5 Abby started shuttering last year, including laying off the majority of each office's staff. The actual numbers on how many folks were impacted and how many remain are still unclear, but sources estimate about ten employees were laid off from Abby and a similar amount were let go from International America.Though sources say there was no explicit reason given for the layoffs, those connected to Abby reported that employees were given "every indication" that the studio would be shutting down, with a few employees lingering to finish up essential functions while the company wrapped its consolidation between the Japan office and Dentsu, an international branding and advertisement company.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Major spoilers for Netflix's The Haunting Of Bly Manor below. There's a moment in The Haunting Of Bly Manor that, for most people, probably didn't seem scary at all, at least not compared to the rest of the show. There are no ghosts, no one is in any mortal peril--it's not even set in a sweeping gothic manor somewhere in the English countryside. It's in an American suburb, in the middle of the day, and every single character in the scene is happy--all except one.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The surprise indie hit Among Us has racked impressive player counts over the past few weeks, and developer InnerSloth has indicated that it's working to implement new features and options for the multiplayer game. A fresh update to Among Us's beta branch has foreshadowed some of the changes coming, and they have considerable ramifications for both the imposters and the hapless crew.Though there aren't official patch notes as of yet, Among Us players have put together a decidedly unofficial list of new features on the game's subreddit. These include shifting the wires task to make it more accessible for colorblind players (by making each wire have its own shape rather than just a color to differentiate them). However, it also gives game hosts more options to transform the game experience, including the ability to make voting anonymous, as well as making the task bar appear only at certain times. Both of these changes theoretically make it easier for imposters to skate by without being detected, but it's up to the server creator to determine whether to use them or not.Several colorblind players have already expressed confusion as to the wires change, with the top comment of one post reading: "The colorblind support for wires is great but...I need help with the crew colors." This beta update is only available on PC, and you have to subscribe to the game's beta branch in order to access it.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Retro gamers of the world have long praised the output of Analogue, a retro gaming company that specializes in crafting FPGA-based versions of classic consoles like the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis. In a tweet, the company teased a major announcement for October 16, leading fans to speculate about what they might unveil.pic.twitter.com/yvnC1xznrN — Analogue (@analogue) October 12, 2020Several observers pounced on the use of the squared exponent in the tweet, which they interpreted as a possible hint. One reply noted that the Nintendo 64 used a superscript in its logo. Another speculated that the "2" may refer to the TurboDuo, which used a superscript two in marketing materials. The TurboDuo is a version of the NEC PC Engine--a niche console popular with collectors-- which is better-known as the TurboGrafx in North America.Where have I seen that exponent before... pic.twitter.com/fMfKwaNsZw — Mark Noseworthy (@knowsworthy) October 12, 2020Oh yeah I see it now. pic.twitter.com/xBgnLnfJT2 — Doctor Boo (@DoctorP00) October 12, 2020Given that Analogue tends to focus on the 2D side of gaming--as well as the fact that there does not appear to exist a FPGA core for the N64, which is the technology that powers most of Analogue's consoles--the smart money is on some version of the PC Engine being announced on Friday. Hudson Soft released an official TurboGrafx-16 Mini back in May 2020, which included 57 total games, including well-known titles like Bonk's Adventure and Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. Sadly, Johnny Turbo could not be reached for comment.Info from Gamespot.com
