Sacha Baron Cohen's new Borat film is a huge hit for Amazon. "Borat Subsequent Moviefilm" drew in tens of millions of viewers on Amazon's Prime Video service throughout its opening weekend, the company announced.That's a global number, Amazon says. Here in the States, Variety reports that TV analytics provider Samba TV estimates viewership for Borat 2 at around 1.6 million homes, though Amazon apparently disputes that number, preferring less-specific statistics. Developer Obsidian's sandbox survival game, Grounded, is still in early access, but it's continuing to build the world with new environments and features. With the next update, that world will include underwater exploration, with the new addition of a backyard koi pond.The koi pond update adds an area teeming with new wildlife, including non-hostile creatures like the tadpole, water boatman, and water flea. All of those help build out the biodiversity of the new area, but lest you get too comfortable in the water, the update also adds a new breed of spider. A spider that swims. And not only does the diving bell spider swim, it will follow you underwater. Also, the new koi fish can just swallow you whole. Pleasant dreams!The update adds a few new crafting recipes to help you deal with the underwater world, like flippers, a diving mask, and koi scale armor. The next update to sandbox survival game Grounded will add a koi pond area, new crafting recipes and base-building elements, and pond-based wildlife--including swimming spiders that will absolutely ruin your watery getaway plan. The game is still in early access, but these progressive improvements that continue to flesh out Grounded's world are part of Obsidian's plan to build out the entire sandbox before creating a full-fledged story for it. GameSpot spoke with creative director Adam Brennecke about the update, how the studio brainstorms new biomes and creatures, and what the future holds.What do you see as the finish line for going into full release? What are you hoping to accomplish while you're still in early access?Brennecke: I think we're still quite a ways away from a 1.0 release. Publisher EA has announced that, in collaboration with LucasFilm, Star Wars: Squadrons on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One will get brand-new cosmetics based on The Mandalorian.There are eight customization items in total that Squadrons players can unlock starting on Wednesday, October 28. This includes bobbleheads and hanging accessories for the cockpits, holograms that can be viewed inside the ships, and decals for starfighters.This also includes a Baby Yoda (or "Mysterious Creature") bobblehead that sits on the dashboard of any New Republic ship. In the past months, Twitch has struggled with onslaughts of DMCA takedown notices and the use of non-licensed music on the platform. The company recently set up a Twitch Soundtrack service to offer licensed music to streamers, but some music organizations aren't convinced that Twitch is taking the necessary steps to address the issues.According to Variety, Twitch and its parent company Amazon received a letter signed by major US music institutions, including RIAA, the Recording Industry Association of America. It accuses the platform of letting streamers ignore copyright laws and failing to secure the proper copyright licenses for the Soundtrack tool.The letter claims that Twitch did not get synch (audio-only use) and mechanical (video use) licenses for Soundtrack. It also asserts that Twitch "allow[s] and enabl[es] its streamers to use our respective members' music without authorization, in violation of Twitch's music guidelines." Apex Legends' Season 7 is just around the corner, and while we still don't know that much about it, we now have a solid date for its launch. According to developer Respawn, the new season is coming on November 4, and it will bring a fresh map to the game, as well as the requisite new character, Horizon.While details on Horizon's kit are thin on the ground, a new video from Respawn does give her backstory. Her real name is Dr. Mary Somers, and she left her home planet of Olympus to seek out a solution to her world's energy crisis--leaving behind her son in her wake. However, she was betrayed and left to drift in space by a woman who fans speculate might be Ash, another figure in the Apex/Titanfall universe. Now, 87 years later, she fights in the Apex Games in order to keep the promise she made to her son by returning to her own time.Considering Horizon's background as an astrophysicist, it's likely that her kit will revolve around manipulating gravity. Season 7's new map is titled Olympus, and it's an airborne city that looks to have a lot of opportunities for verticality, as well as nasty falls. Batwoman won't return to The CW until next year, but when it does, it will be with a new woman under Batwoman's cowl. Javicia Leslie is portraying a brand-new character named Ryan Wilder that will take on the iconic superhero mantle. And now we know what this take on Batwoman will look like.The CW has released the first two photos of Leslie in her updated Batwoman costume, which you can see below. A previously released photo showed her wearing the same costume former star Ruby Rose wore in Season 1. However, the new version of that suit includes a number of changes. In a statement, executive producer and showrunner Caroline Dries explained, "Ryan's journey starts from a place of 'What can this Batsuit do for me?' But it's not long before she realizes the power of its symbol and what it can do for everyone else in Gotham City. As Ryan embraces everything that makes her special, she adjusts the suit to fit her physically and figuratively. Pokemon Sword and Shield's new Crown Tundra area is swarming with Legendary Pokemon, including Galarian forms of the three Legendary birds Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. You'll need to catch the birds as part of your expedition, but they won't make it easy; when you first encounter them at Dyna Tree Hill in the southernmost portion of the Crown Tundra, they'll all flee to a different part of Galar, so you'll need to return to previous areas and chase them down individually.Each of the Legendary birds can be found roaming about one of Sword and Shield's three open-world areas: Zapdos flees to the original Wild Area, Moltres lurks around the Isle of Armor, and Articuno roams about the Crown Tundra. Now, two months after the release of an unlikely new entry, Dlala Studio's Battletoads reboot has hit more than one million players between Xbox One and PC, likely thanks to its inclusion in Xbox Game Pass.In a blog post, publisher Rare also revealed some other key metrics for the game, including the fact that Rash is the most-selected Battletoad. Players have collectively died more than 80 million times on their adventures--that's a lot of dead amphibians. The post also notes that the fastest speedrun for the full game clocks in at around one hour 40 minutes.
