After the first two weeks off in the Season of the Lost, the Trials of Osiris kicks off again this weekend in Destiny 2. This isn't the Trials you're used to, however--developer Bungie has made significant changes to the toughest competitive challenge in its game, making it more approachable for a wider swathe of players and eliminating some of the most irritating things about the high-level battle.Bungie reminded players of the new Trials changes with its This Week at Bungie blog post, although it had previously detailed the adjustments at the start of the season. Essentially, the changes take away some of the things that would often turn players away from the Trials. The mode now tracks your progress differently, allowing you to earn the special, high-quality weapons and armor that are only available during the weekend mode a lot more easily. Its highest rewards, which require you to go "flawless" on a Trials run, remain, but roadblocks that made Trials seem insurmountable to some players in the past are now gone.If you're unfamiliar, the Trials of Osiris is a competitive mode that takes Power levels into account and that's only available in Destiny 2 on weekends, running from the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET on Friday to the weekly reset at the same time on the following Tuesday. You join a fireteam of three as you fight against other teams in Elimination rounds, with the goal of winning seven such matches in a row--what's known as "going flawless." Win all seven matches with no losses, and you would get access to a special social space called the Lighthouse, where you'd receive high-caliber weapons that weren't available anywhere else in the game.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

For six years, the Life Is Strange series has consistently told stories about the ties that bind us, between friends, families, and communities. The latest entry, True Colors, represents the first time subtext becomes not just text, but the game's core mechanic. The strength of Life Is Strange as a series is how it always seeks to answers the deeper questions about why people are the way they are, but even compared to the original Life is Strange protagonist Max Caulfield seeking to untangle her best friend's life, or Sean and Daniel Diaz of Life is Strange 2 being at the mercy of an increasingly merciless America, True Colors drills deeper. It features a new hero who can delve into peoples' lives on a level beyond the capabilities of the series' other protagonists. That ability lets the game traverse some new, fascinating territory for this series, but it’s still a bit too bashful about staying there for too long..You play as Alex Chen, a child of the foster care system who was separated from her big brother Gabe when she was 10. She bounced from family to facility and back again for over a decade before, finally, Gabe tracked her down and invited her to his new home of Haven Springs, an idyllic little village in Colorado. While it's seemingly a peaceful-enough place to start a life, Alex is helpless when it comes to her big secret and the game's supernatural hook: Alex is a superpowered empath who is not only able to see and read peoples' emotions as giant bursts of psychedelic colors, but if the emotion is strong enough, she will actually inherit it. Unfortunately, the foster care system not exactly being the happiest place on earth means Alex finds herself consumed by crippling depressive episodes and extreme fits of rage beyond her control. And so, as Alex begins her new life, Haven Springs starts to rub off on her, in more ways than one. When a major tragedy strikes the town, keeping the peace becomes an imperative, and it’s about protecting herself just as much as it is about protecting the town. For the most part, True Colors operates the same way as every other Life Is Strange title: As Alex, you walk around and interact with everything and everyone the game will allow you to, occasionally making crucial, life-changing choices through dialogue that affect the world and the course of the story. On the technical level, there are a few marked improvements over past games in the series, especially in terms of visuals. This is the most gorgeous and lush Life is Strange game, with a huge, impressive improvement to the character performances, though it comes at a price. The PS5 port we tested took some heavy hits in frame rate when wandering around the town and stuttered elsewhere. The PC port handled much better, but even there, keeping up with the workload isn't easy on the computer.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Steve Burns, perhaps still better known simply as Steve from Blue's Clues from your millennial childhood, has released a video to let his now-adult fans know that he never, ever forgot them since leaving the show in 2002. The emotional video is part of the Nickelodeon show's 25th anniversary--and it is likely to provide a powerful dose of nostalgia and closure for kids who maybe didn't even realize they never quite got over Steve's sudden departure from that show."You remember how when we were younger, we used to run around and hang out with Blue and find clues and talk to Mr. Salt and freak out about the mail and do all the fun stuff?" said Burns, wearing his familiar and iconic green-striped shirt for the clip. "And then one day, I was like, 'Oh hey, guess what? Big news, I'm leaving. Here's my brother Joe, he's your new best friend,' and then I got on a bus and I left and we didn't see each other for like a really long time? Can we just talk about that? Because I realize that was kind of abrupt." Check out the video below to see the full heartfelt message. So about that time Steve went off to college… #BluesClues25 pic.twitter.com/O8NOM2eRjy — Nick Jr. (@nickjr) September 7, 2021While earlier this year it finally came out that a major motivator for Burns to leave the show was due to an interest in pursuing a music career (with Flaming Lips producer David Fridmann and drummer Steve Drozd), his heartfelt message here is solely focused on expressing gratitude for his viewers--and thanking them for still being his friend. The show never really dwelled much on the gravity of his exit.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Ahead of Deathloop's launch next week, developer Arkane Studios has revealed the PC requirements for the game. While the minimum specs are fairly reasonable, you'll need to have a pretty beefy PC to run the game at Ultra settings with 4K resolution and 60 frames per second. To run the game at all, Arkane states that you'll need at least an Nvidia GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580 GPU, 12 GB of RAM, and an i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 1600 processor. But if you want all the bells and whistles, Deathloop needs an Nvidia RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT GPU, 16 GB of RAM, and an i9-10900K or Ryzen 7 3800 XT.At its highest settings, Deathloop will render at 4K resolution and 60fps; there's no info yet on whether you'll be able to uncap framerates. The game will support ultrawide monitors, as well. Users with less powerful PCs can take advantage of Deathloop's support for FidelityFX Super Resolution, which is AMD's intelligent upscaling technology.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Andrew Garfield has responded once again to the ongoing rumors and reports that he will appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home, saying that is "not something I'm aware I am involved in."Speaking to Variety, Garfield said it doesn't really even matter what he says on the subject because people will believe what they want to believe. "No matter what I say, I'm f**ked," he said. Garfield acknowledged that he understands why people are excited about the idea of the multiverse bringing together his Spider-Man and Tobey Maguire's to join Tom Holland."I understand why people are freaking out about the concept of that because I'm a fan as well. You can't help but imagine scenes and moments of, 'Oh, my God, how f**king cool would it be if they did that?'" he said. "But it's important for me to say on the record that this is not something I'm aware I am involved in. But I know I'm not going to be able to say anything that will convince anyone that I don't know what's happening... It's either going to be really disappointing for people or it's going to be really exciting."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Valve's portable gaming device, the Steam Deck, is scheduled to launch later this year. With it comes the prospect of taking your entire Steam library on the go with you, a feature that was seemingly confirmed when the portable platform was first announced. But that might not be the case at launch, with Codeweavers president James B. Ramey asking buyers to check their expectations.Codeweavers co-developed Proton with Valve. Proton is the layer through which SteamOS is able to run native Windows titles on Linux, which ships with the Steam Deck. As you might expect, there are some cases where games will not work as intended with SteamOS out of the box, with Proton currently supporting around 16,000 games that are listed on Steam. That's a large number (especially since it was only 27 in 2018), but it's still not all of the games on Steam, which might end up conflicting with some of your purchases. The confusion around library-wide compatibility seems to have stemmed from an interview conducted between IGN and Valve’s Pierre-Loup Griffais. In it, Griffais mentions that the Steam Deck will be able to handle all games currently sold on Steam, something which Ramey interprets as more to do with hardware compatibility than software. Speaking on the Boiling Steam podcast, Ramey warned that there definitely will be some games that won't work with the Steam Deck at launch.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

In the wake of a state of California lawsuit alleging a culture of harassment and discrimination towards women at Activision Blizzard, the company has begun making changes to some of its games in order to remove certain content.Part of that effort has been a vow to remove "not appropriate" references in World of Warcraft. Following the lawsuit's allegations, Blizzard removed numerous in-game references to former WoW game director Alex Afrasiabi. That effort will continue with WoW's upcoming 9.1.5 patch, which is currently live on the game's public test realm. It's there that players have discovered (via Icy-Veins) that two old achievement names that have not aged particularly well have been renamed. One, formerly titled "My Sack Is Gigantique," has been renamed to "My Storage Is Gigantique." The achievement is earned from purchasing and equipping a Gigantique bag from a Burning Crusade-era Blood Elf NPC named Haris Pilton, a riff on celebrity Paris Hilton who asks players if their "sack is Gigantique?!" The character and her "catchphrase" even became a card in the WoW Trading Card Game (you know, the one that existed before Hearthstone was a thing).Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
