Fortnite has been a big money-maker for Epic Games, but the company is reportedly considering another revenue stream using the wildly popular battle royale: a monthly subscription. The company has been surveying fans on possible subscription models.Eurogamer reports that the suggested options in the surveys range from $5 to $16 per month. For that price you'd get about a stipend of 1000 V-Bucks, early access to a skin set, and the current battle pass. Destiny 2 players will be greeted with many changes today, as the game's Update 3.0 has gone live. This large update changes many aspects of the game, from loot to weapon balance to cosmetics.One of the patch's biggest changes comes in the form of Vendor Armor. Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit vendors will now reward players with a Prime version of their ritual engram for completing the weekly challenge. Those Prime engrams will drop the new Season of the Hunt armor until the full set has been obtained. Base versions of those engrams will drop low-stat versions of the ritual armor once the set has been completed.The update also makes large changes to the game economy. For example, Spider will no longer part with Legendary Shards, ostensibly due to players having large stacks of them saved up. The PlayStation 5, which is out this Thursday, ships with support for resolutions ranging from 720p all the way up to 8K (eventually) but misses one crucial step in the ladder that has become a staple in PC gaming.The PS5 doesn't support a native 1440p output, meaning you're stuck choosing between 1080p and having it upscaled or forcing a 4K signal and downscaling. It causes some issues with the resolution of the user interface, both inside and outside games, and is an issue that persisted throughout the life of the PS4. It's launch week for the next-gen consoles, with Xbox Series S / Series X launching today, November 10, worldwide for $300 and $500, respectively. And Microsoft celebrated the release of its new Xbox with a drone showcase that took place in Cologne, Germany.Xbox boss Phil Spencer made an appearance during the livestream to thank the country's community for embracing the platform and its games, like Age of Empires: Definitive Edition and Microsoft Flight Simulator. Sony's PS5 promotions appear to focus primarily on the US market and has noticeably pivoted away from Japan. Anonymous Sony employees who spoke to Bloomberg cite PS4's relatively poor performance in Japan as the reason behind the shift.Bloomberg's article lays the math out: While Japan produces 10% of the PS4's earnings, the US generates 35%, according to Macquarie Group Ltd. analyst Damian Thong. Nintendo's special edition Super Mario Bros. Game & Watch hits store shelves later this week, but there appears to be a minor issue with the handheld. Nintendo has confirmed that there's a language error related to the "Mario Drawing" song that plays over the device's digital clock.As detailed on the company's support website, the handheld will display the song's lyrics in the wrong language if you select German, French, Italian, or Spanish from the title screen. With the Beyond Light expansion out now on all platforms, some Destiny 2 players are experiencing connectivity issues when attempting to load into the looter-shooter.Developer Bungie said it's investigating the server issues while clarifying that improvements are being made to server connectivity. Fortnite's Season 4 is starting to wind down. We're now past the initial 10 week period and are getting into an extra four weeks of Marvel-focused challenges. A season-ending event should be happening soon, but Epic Games hasn't given us any hints about what it will include. Players have begun to come up with their own ideas.One player created a scene of the helicarrier, which serves as a pre-game lobby, falling towards Risky Reels. They made a 3D render of the scene--complete with Iron Man using his suit to prevent the aircraft from crashing--and shared it to the Fortnite subreddit. Shudder's reboot show of Stephen King and George Romero's much-loved '80s horror anthology movie Creepshow has proved to be one of the biggest hits for the streaming service. Although Season 2 has been delayed until next year, an animated Halloween special was released last month. It's now been announced that a Creepshow Chrismas special will be released in December.The special is titled A Creepshow Holiday Special, and it hits Shudder on December 18. It will consist of a single hour-long Christmas-themed episode, titled "Shapeshifters Anonymous." The special is written and directed by showrunner Greg Nicotero, based on a story by J.A. Konrath. It stars Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect) and Adam Pally (The Mindy Project). Destiny 2's latest big expansion, Beyond Light, is now live. It's a new chapter in Destiny 2, reworking how the game is played with the new Stasis abilities while removing some older content from the game--although some players are struggling to log in. But while Beyond Light is a big new step for Destiny 2, there's another one on the horizon: the next-generation versions of the game. Now we know that the new versions of Destiny 2 will have an even smoother multiplayer experience, running at 120 fps on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.Bungie made the announcement on an Xbox livestream, although it didn't provide too many more details. Bungie confirmed that the PS5 will also support 120 fps in the Crucible, with more information coming soon.Still, 120 fps in the Crucible, Destiny 2's PvP multiplayer offering, is a huge boost over the current console versions, though, which run at 30 fps. Bungie previously said the next-generation versions of Destiny 2 on Xbox Series X, Series S, and PlayStation 5 will run at 60 fps. Those versions aren't available yet--they launch on December 8, so if you're playing Destiny 2 on a Series X/S today or a PS5 later this week, you'll be running backwards-compatible versions of the game. Fortnite is getting a second Black Widow skin as part of its Marvel Super Series of tournaments. Players who compete and place well in the tournament will get the skin for free. Everyone else will be able to purchase it in the item shop later on.The tournament takes place on November 11. It starts at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET on November 14.With over 425 Twitch creators participating, GlitchCon has packed in the programming.
