Walmart is offering PS5 consoles for order on its website with several time periods pre-selected to allow for customers to have a fair shot at getting the system--the next batch will be available at noon PT / 3 PM ET. Unfortunately, the high level of traffic these orders brought appears to have crashed its entire website.As of right now, the website appears to have recovered, but some players interested in purchasing the console may have seen an error message describing technical difficulties. We saw this message when attempting to go to the Walmart homepage, though the problem quickly corrected itself.That short few minutes is plenty of time for others to buy the remaining stock, however. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will get a huge day one update when it drops on November 13 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S / Series X. The patch notes, which are outlined below, detail a number of changes, including a nerf to sliding.Specifically, the slide's distance and speed have been reduced. Developers Treyarch and Raven Software said the change will better align the slide with its true purpose: to be used as an escape mechanic, not during close-quarters engagements. Additionally, firing a weapon immediately after ending a sprint is now faster than sliding to fire. Though sliding in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has been nerfed, all in-game mantling speed has been increased.The sliding nerf comes after community outcry about the mechanic being too overpowered. During multiple beta periods, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players found themselves frustrated by encounters with those who exploited the slide. The Xbox Series X has been out for just over 48 hours, but already some users are reporting technical issues. A help thread on the Microsoft community help forum reports that the new console is shutting down spontaneously shortly after starting a game.According to the thread, the console is shutting down just a few seconds after starting a game. A full reinstall and a full reset of the console haven't helped, says the user. A few others have reported similar experiences in the comments, while others have offered potential troubleshooting tips.At least one GameSpot staff member has experienced the issue as well, with crashes coming anytime between the moment a game is started to roughly 20 minutes into gameplay. Once the Xbox Series X shuts down this way, it needs to be started again using the hardware's power button, as it no longer starts up automatically when a paired controller powers on. Sega may be out of the Japanese arcade business, but it still has plans to expand its audience around the world by dipping further into the library of Atlus games. After Persona 4 Golden exceeded the publisher's expectations when it was ported to PC this year, more Atlus game ports, remakes, and remasters are being considered, according to Sega Sammy president and CEO Haruki Satomi."As for Steam, while we haven't been actively releasing Atlus titles on PC, we felt that there was much potential there and put out a direct port of Persona 4 Golden for PC, and the user response was far beyond our expectations," Satomi said during a financial results briefing that was translated by Gematsu. The group's YouTube channel is currently streaming a live teardown of the new console, showing both the standard version with the disc drive as well as the PS5 Digital Edition.Internally, the consoles are essentially identical with the exception of the disc drive itself, which adds a small bit of bulk to one side. Ever since the release of the Forsaken expansion in 2018, developer Bungie has been shifting its focus with Destiny 2, emphasizing building up its world and telling more character-driven stories that are important to that world's progress. I've only spent a couple of days with the Beyond Light expansion, but so far it demonstrates Bungie's new direction better than any content the developer has released to date. The campaign of Beyond Light in particular might be the best version of Destiny 2 storytelling, thanks to an emphasis on characters that makes its run-and-gun missions feel more meaningful than they have in past iterations.Beyond Light continues the story of the arrival of the Darkness, a powerful, unknown enemy force, to the solar system. We've been hearing about the Darkness since the first days of Destiny, but now we finally know what it is. So far, it hasn't been an enemy so much as a seductive force, encouraging the people of the solar system to stray from the benevolent Traveler and the power it's granted players since the first game. We finally get to try this new power, but the story campaign of Beyond Light has characters constantly wondering if the risks are worth the benefits.Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), we need those benefits, which manifest themselves in the form of a new icy power called Stasis. Eramis, the leader of one of Destiny's enemy groups, the Fallen, have discovered how to wield Stasis, making them some of the most powerful creatures in the solar system.
