A new limited-time Special Battle is now underway in Super Mario Bros. 35. This event runs through Sunday, November 15, and like previous Special Battles, it limits the stage rotation to only a specific handful of courses: in this case, Worlds 5-1 to 6-4.Alongside the new Special Battle event, Nintendo has also rolled out another update for Super Mario Bros. 35. The Ver. 1.0.2 patch primarily resolves a handful of issues, including one that prevented players from throwing fireballs while underwater in certain situations, and another that let players open courses they hadn't yet unlocked. You can see the full patch notes below. It’s time for another Limited Course Special Battle in #SuperMarioBros35! Mega Evolutions finally made their debut in Pokemon Go back in August, and since then, developer Niantic has been fine-tuning the feature to make it easier for more players to enjoy. Last month, the studio outlined a slate of changes it planned to implement soon, and now some of those adjustments have gone live in the game. Most notably, you can now earn Mega Energy by walking with a Buddy Pokemon, provided you've previously Mega-Evolved a Pokemon in your Buddy's evolutionary line. Before this, the only way to obtain Mega Energy was either by participating in Mega Raid Battles or completing certain Research tasks, so this change gives you a handy new option for collecting the energy.Trainers, you can now earn Mega Energy by walking with your Buddy Pokémon and earn extra Candies with Mega-Evolved Pokémon! https://t.co/xk3YDJ02lG pic.twitter.com/rZq8S6enjn — Pokémon GO (@PokemonGoApp) November 12, 2020That isn't the only change that has been implemented. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War looks absolutely fantastic on next-gen consoles, with gorgeous details, ray-tracing, and a smooth frame rate. If you want to push that frame rate even higher on PS5, you can do so, but it's a little tricky to enable 120fps gameplay unless you know where to look. Here's how to do it.How to enable 120fpsThe method for turning on 120Hz in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which you need to get this high frame rate, is a little strange, as it will seem like it's disabled out of the gate. However, if you go into the PS5's own settings and set your game preferences to choose performance mode over the game's default settings, it will adjust accordingly. You have to reset Cold War once you've done this for it to take effect.Oddly, we couldn't turn the setting off in the game once doing this without adjusting the global PS5 gameplay settings again. Most games don't require you to do this, but Black Ops Cold War is special.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition both only come in one color right now: white. It certainly looks striking on a TV stand, but for some, that isn't what they're looking for in a console. And without Sony offering any sort of replacement panels--or allowing for any third-party companies to do so--players are taking matters into their own hands. Not content to wait for Sony's almost-inevitable replacement panels, early PS5 adopters have begun using a few different techniques to customize their systems' look. Posted on the PS5 Reddit page and spotted by GamesRadar, they include a console that had its panels covered in black Plasti Dip. It's an air-drying rubber coating that looks very sleek on the console, though it sports a slightly shiny finish compared to the matte white of the original panels.Others even chose to modify the glossy middle of the system, instead. One Reddit user gave it a neat jagged finish that seems to blend into the original black finish. With vinyl wraps, others are doing even more creative finishes for their system, though it remains to be seen how well these coatings and wraps will stand up to the heat of the console when it's playing games for a long period. Stardew Valley released well over four years ago and developed Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone hasn't slowed down with continuing to improve the game and add more features. One of its bigger content updates is version 1.5, and Barone said it's finally nearing release. the 1.5 update is in the "home stretch", it's a very big update so there is a lot of polishing and bug fixing necessary to make sure it's ready. It'll be very fun to share it with all of you in the near future. I think you'll be really happy and surprised with all the new stuff! — ConcernedApe (@ConcernedApe) November 13, 2020It's definitely more heavy on the late-game content, but there are some new features/options that you can choose for a new game that might make a fresh run worthwhile — ConcernedApe (@ConcernedApe) November 13, 2020Writing on Twitter, Barone said that his new update is in the "home stretch" of development and that most efforts now are on polishing it and squashing remainnig bugs. He added that new features included will make it worthwhile to run through the game from the beginning, but the majority of the content in the update is meant for endgame players. Earlier this year, Barone teased exciting new content for Stardew Valley, and an image he shared included a new back door in Willy's shack. One feature we know for sure is coming to both consoles and PC is split-screen cooperative play. Barone said the total number of players supported could vary depending on the system, possibly with four-player support on some platforms and two-player support on others.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

However, there are also a number of little Easter eggs and secrets that you can use, and Nintendo gave us some tips on how to access them. This mode was lost when turning off the original NES, but thanks to the advances in technology, now you never have to lose access to it!Finish Super Mario Bros. and you’ll unlock hard mode, with different enemies appearing. While Sony and Microsoft are both ushering in next-generation iterations of their flagship consoles, Nintendo finds itself in a unique position. Since the Wii era, the company has effectively operated on its own generational schedule, sidestepping the technological arms race its rival console makers are engaged in to pursue different hardware strategies and audiences. This tact has helped Nintendo and its systems stand out in the face of increasingly stiff competition, but it has not always worked in the company's favor. The early, uncontested success of the Wii and its novel motion controller eventually petered out as the generation wore on and the system's technological deficiencies became more apparent, and its successor, the Wii U, stumbled out of the gate and never found its footing, moving less than 14 million units over its truncated lifetime. What's more, Nintendo has traditionally had to juggle two different hardware lines: a home console and a handheld one. As a result, the company has had to divide its resources to support two separate platforms simultaneously, but this dual strategy has also been Nintendo's saving grace; the publisher has historically dominated the handheld space, and this success has helped prop it up even when its home consoles have struggled to gain traction.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

When you see Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War running on PS5, it might not appear all that surprising or different--aside from sharper visuals and graphical effects, of course. But for me, playing the game on PS5 was revolutionary not because of how it plays on a mechanical level, but what it actually feels like to play it on the new DualSense controller. As you'd expect, new consoles tend to set the standard for gaming for the next 5-7 years with better graphics, new interfaces, and yes, new controllers. This console generation, Microsoft's Xbox Series X controller is mostly the same as the Xbox One controller, but with some ergonomic adjustments. On the other hand, Sony's been hyping its new Dualsense controller with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers--something I first thought would become another gimmick like the PS3's Sixaxis sensors or PS4's touchpad. But after spending a few weeks with the DualSense, it has become my favorite part of the PS5. Rather than demand you to play your games awkwardly with new, unproven tech, haptic feedback and the adaptive triggers can enhance the way we already play games. And funny enough, it wasn't Astro's Playroom, the free game that acts as a demo for the DualSense, that sold me on it. It was this year's Call of Duty, of all things, because these particular features are perfect for shooters.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

There's much to praise about the remake of Demon's Souls. It's a remarkable technical showpiece for the PlayStation 5; a gripping gameplay experience that oscillates between exhilarating, nerve-wracking, and downright heartbreaking; and a faithful recreation of the seminal title that birthed the Souls-like subgenre. But developer Bluepoint's greatest achievement is that it took something I'm intimately familiar with and made me feel like I was venturing into the unknown.Fundamentally, Demon's Souls for PS5 is what it has always been. Barring some small tweaks, the design of the game is identical to From Software's original. The core mechanics are unchanged, the enemies are placed in the same positions and behave in the same ways, the devious tricks and traps are still there, ready to catch the unfamiliar off-guard.And yet, while retreading a well-worn path through the kingdom of Boletaria, I find myself without the confidence I should have. I'm cautiously approaching basic enemies with my shield raised, knowing their every move and how to overcome them, but fearing them still. I stand paralyzed at the end of narrow stone tunnels ominously lit by flickering torches, knowing exactly what awaits in the darkness, but still needing to will myself forward. And as monstrous demons step into arenas in which I've bested them dozens of times, I begin to doubt my chances at victory once more.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

On the November 6 episode of The Mandalorian, some people were upset about some actions The Child--which many call Baby Yoda--took during the course of the episode, as he ate some unfertilized eggs that a sentient being was bringing to her mate. Luckily, on this week's episode of the Disney+ original series, The Child's next meal fought back. When Mando and The Child landed on the planet that is essentially one giant ocean dock, he took a seat at the local tavern to get the kid some food, ordering him up some chowder. However, there was a bit more to this chowder than expected, as there was a living cephalopod-like creature inside, and it attacked Baby Yoda.Check please...Obviously, the meal didn't do any damage to Baby Yoda, but it did teach him the important lesson that sometimes, your food will fight back--unless it's dead.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

November 19 should've been a big day for CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077, but after a last-minute delay you'll have to wait a few more weeks to get your hands on the open-world role-playing game. Instead, you can look forward to getting possibly your final glimpse of the game before it hits shelves. In its fifth entry in the Night City Wire series of streams, CD Projekt Red is diving into the character Johnny Silverhand, played by the breathtaking Keanu Reeves. Given Silverhand's origins in cyberpunk rock, the stream will also touch on some of the game's soundtrack and more. One of the reported reasons for Cyberpunk 2077's original delay from September to its previous November date was performance on the oldest consoles it supports, with the Xbox One and PS4 versions supposedly needing more work. CD Projekt Red didn't directly respond to that report, but still hasn't explicitly shown footage of the game running on those consoles.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
