Grand Theft Auto V is coming to the PS5, and we got a chance to see what the game--first released a full eight years ago--will look like on the new-generation hardware. The most profitable piece of entertainment in history seems ready to get even bigger, judging by what was shown as the PlayStation Showcase on Thursday. The game was also delayed to 2022 across PS5 and Xbox Series X|S to give the team more time to get it ready for launch.The trailer showed off some of GTA V's gorgeous environments and high-octane action. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt, an upcoming free-to-play battle royale from Sharkmob AB, announced that it is set for a 2021 release on PS5. During the PlayStation Showcase, Sharkmob revealed gameplay for the third-person shooter in the dark streets and deadly rooftops of Prague. Betrayal between vampires and the threat of the Entity, a secret society targeting vampires, has turned Prague into a bloodbath. The gameplay showed the clans such as the Brujah, Nosferatu, and Toreador, and archetypes players can choose to create unique teams that fit their play style. Insomniac is heading up another Marvel superhero game. Announced in a brief teaser-trailer at the PlayStation Showcase, its next game will be Marvel's Wolverine. A brief teaser-trailer showed a bar that had been utterly trashed, before slowly panning to a single man left standing. And if there were any doubt remaining, that man extended his adamantium claws while reaching for his drink.Insomniac is also known for its work on Marvel's Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales. One of the biggest announcements at the PlayStation Showcase event is a remaster of Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy for PS5 and PC. Called the Legacy of Thieves Collection, it bundles together the two games with a fresh coat of paint.This marks the first time that the Uncharted series will make its way to PC, and the game joins a growing list of PlayStation first-party titles available for PC players. Details are scant right now about the extent of the remaster, but the reveal trailer certainly looks good. After being announced last year with a short teaser that gave us basically no information about the game--or even its official, final title--God of War: Ragnarok was featured during Thursday's PlayStation Showcase event with a new trailer. The new look at the game showed Kratos and Atreus venturing through the frozen lands of Fimbulwinter, the deadly winter ahead of the end of the world. It sounds like their goal is to locate the Norse god of war, Tyr.The trailer also showed a whole bunch of returning characters from 2018's God of War, as well as some new threats--including Thor, the god of Thunder, who looks like he'll stand as an antagonist to Kratos and Atreus. There's also the interpersonal relationship between Kratos and Atreus, who's hoping to find out more about his identity as Loki following the events of God of War.After the showcase, Sony Santa Monica also revealed that God of War 2018's director, Cory Barlog, isn't the director of God of War: Ragnarok. Instead, Eric Williams, who formerly worked as God of War's combat and systems designer and who has worked on every game in the series, is taking on the director role. Developer Insomniac Games announced Marvel's Spider-Man 2 during PlayStation's September 2021 Showcase. The game is scheduled to release for PS5.During the showcase, we also got a new trailer for Spider-Man 2. In it, we see both Peter Parker and Miles Morales working together as the two Spider-Men of New York while a narrator (who sounds an awful lot like Kraven the Hunter) asks if anyone will give him the challenge he desires. And then Venom appears, answering that they will provide that challenge.As suspected by fans, Spider-Man 2 takes place after the events of both Marvel's Spider-Man and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. When Halloween Kills debuts next month, it won't just be in theaters. Universal has announced that the horror film will arrive on the Peacock streaming service the same day it is released theatrically (via The Hollywood Reporter).Halloween Kills hits theaters on October 15, but if you subscribe to Peacock, you'll be able to watch it at home. Peacock does not rent movies like Amazon Prime or have anything like the Premier Access tier offered by Disney+. The number seven is dear to Bungie, which makes this Destiny birthday extra special. Destiny was released September 9, 2014, and the past seven years haven't exactly been smooth sailing for Bungie, but Destiny and Destiny 2 have captured the hearts of millions of gamers internationally.To commemorate its journey, Bungie shared a Destiny 7th Anniversary post to reminisce about the early days of development. Destiny's Sony Press Conference at E3 2013 put the team in a tough spot. The post revealed that the gameplay footage shown at the E3 was actually pre-recorded and synced with live performances from Joe Staten, Bungie veteran and former writer on Destiny, and Jason Jones, Bungie's co-founder.The presentation was meant to show live gameplay, but Jason's monitor had stopped working and no one knew what caused the disruption at the time. The funny thing is, Bungie quickly switched the live gameplay to a pre-recorded video, and the presenters had to play along. This includes the War Rig that Max, Furiosa, and the Wives were escaping in, the Doof Wagon that kept the guitar-playing mutant suspended in front of a wall of speakers, and Nux's sand-battered rustbucket.
