A TV spin-off from Matt Reeves' upcoming DC movie The Batman was first announced in July, with Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter set to be showrunner and main writer. However, it's now been reported that Winter has quit the show.According to The Hollywood Reporter, Winter has left the HBO Max series because his "vision for the drama did not match what Reeves and other producers had in mind." The site states that producers are now looking for a replacement showrunner. The Lego Super Mario collaboration is getting a big expansion early next year. The Lego Group announced a series of new level sets, character packs, and Mario costumes that will hit stores on January 1, 2021.The highlight of the new additions is the Master Your Adventure Maker Set, which offers a set of customization tools to make the Mario courses your own. The Customization Machine included in the set lets you change the variables on three included Special Bricks. It also includes a new type of Start Pipe, which decreases the time to finish a course but increases your reward payout if you complete it.The other sets include the Chain Chomp Jungle Encounter set, the Piranha Plant Puzzling Challenge set, and the Wiggler's Poison Swamp set. Alongside those, you can collect two new suits: Penguin Mario, which lets him slide on his belly, and Tanooki Mario, which lets you do a spin move. Sony has released the first firmware update for its recently launched PlayStation 5, bringing "system performance" improvements with it.The patch notes for system update 20.02-02.25.00 don't specifically state what areas of the console are being addressed, simply stating, "This system software update improves system performance." The entire download is just shy of 900MB and is available to download now.The PS5 launched in the US, Canada, and other regions on November 12, with the launch in Europe taking place this Thursday, November 19. Just as Netflix did recently, Hulu has announced it will be increasing its prices. According to the green-flecked streaming service itself, Hulu with Live TV will be increasing its price to $65 a month, an uptick that will cost as much as YouTube TV once it goes into effect on December 18.This marks a $10 monthly increase for current customers, and the cost increase will impact both new and current customers. The last time Hulu increased costs for subscribers was last year, when the price similarly went from $45 to $55, again, on December 18 back in 2019.Were it not for the pandemic and cost-cutting measures families all over the US might be considering, a $10 increase for streaming services might not seem like that big of a deal. However, it's worth remembering that these types of cord-cutting packages were meant to entice people who wanted to avoid cable bills for all sorts of unwanted channels. But as each ecosystem wants to compete and offer exclusive or exclusively licensed content, costs have been climbing annually. Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate is out now, and with it comes a substantial amount of new content to developer NetherRealm's 2019 fighting game. In addition to the base game, the Ultimate edition also includes the Aftermath campaign and all previously released DLC fighters. Quentin Tarantino has often stated that he plans to stop making movies after his tenth film, and focus more on writing. If he keeps to his word, that leaves just one more movie before he quits directing. The new generation is upon us, and with Cyberpunk 2077 right around the corner, CD Projekt Red is taking the opportunity to show off its new game running on the new hardware. A surprise Night City Wire Special presentation has premiered that showcases console footage of Cyberpunk 2077 running on both Xbox One X and Xbox Series X.The short video was broadcast on Twitch, but you can now rewatch the entire thing below. It showcases edited gameplay footage running on the two consoles, including Microsoft's new high-end next-gen system. The video cuts back and forth between the two versions, allowing you to compare how portions of the game look on one console versus the other. Notably, neither older Xbox hardware nor the Xbox Series S versions were shown. We also didn't get to see the PS4, PS4 Pro, or PS5 versions of the game.Although the frame rate and overall visuals do appear improved on Xbox Series X (the One X version seems to have some performance issues), a proper next-gen-enhanced version of the game won't be available right at Cyberpunk 2077's launch on December 10. This past N7 day, BioWare VP and Studio GM Casey Hudson announced that the next installment of the Mass Effect series is in the works in a blog post. Today, three new images from the upcoming game were posted online.The images originated from the newly-released Bioware: Stories and Secrets from 25 Years of Game Development coffee table book, and were subsequently posted on Tumblr.Today's images saw the first image of the new game presented in the N7 Day blog post make a return: a ship on a shiny planet surface with four crew members walking beside it while two suns hang above them. The outline of one crew member appears to be an Angaran, the alien species native to Andromeda. Ubisoft Montreal has rolled out yet another rework for Rainbow Six Siege's Tachanka. The patch notes (outlined below) replaces his turret with a launcher and makes several other changes to the Defender, including making the DP27 LMG his primary weapon.Instead of the RP-46 Degtyaryov stationary turret he used to carry, the update swaps that for the Shumikha Launcher. The firearm lobs grenades that produce a fire AOE one second after the grenade first touches the ground. Grenades are inserted one at a time, with Tachanka able to carry 10 total grenades and the Shumikha Launcher equipped with a five-grenade magazine.Elsewhere, Tachanka will no longer have the Withstand ability after the studio monitored its performance on the Test Server. Francis Ford Coppola's first two Godfather movies are among the most celebrated films of all time, but the same can't be said for the third part in the gangster saga. The Godfather Part III was released in 1990, 16 years after the hugely successful second part, and was met with very mixed reviews. Coppola has now returned to the film and prepared a new version, which hits theaters and home entertainment formats next month. The first trailer has now been released.The film is now titled The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone. The movie has been reedited, with the picture and sound restored, and according to a press release "achieves Coppola and screenwriter Mario Puzo's original vision for the finale." The trailer doesn't look very different from what was released in 1990, but it will be fascinating to see if this new version will lead the movie to be critically reappraised.
