Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond marks a return to the series' historical roots as well as its first foray into virtual reality. It's been a long time since we've stormed the beaches of Normandy or liberated Nazi-occupied France in a Medal of Honor game, but Above and Beyond strives to bring us back to that familiar WWII experience within the new technology. Being asked to answer the call of duty and return to the battlefield in a new Medal of Honor is an exciting prospect, but Above and Beyond is far too simple a shooter and far too restrictive to ever feel engaging like the series once was.Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond's campaign is composed of six major missions, each of which is broken into smaller sections, moving you from location to location as you make your way through the story. Each moment of gameplay has you moving through a small area and using a variety of WWII weaponry to take out Nazis. These moments can feature you walking around on foot or, at times, in the back of a vehicle. Some of the action sequences can be a little too intense, including a sequence where my character was in the back of a moving truck and shooting enemies in the opposite direction, which made me especially motion sick. That said, Above and Beyond offers some great comfort options to help alleviate motion sickness. These include settings that let you tweak turning increments, turn on tunnel vision when sprinting, or even let you skip more intense action sequences entirely and continue through the story. These were enough to alleviate my own issues with motion sickness and made it possible for me to make it through every section without skipping through them. Starting up a new VR game without knowing how your mind and body will react to its movement can be intimidating, but Above and Beyond's options help mitigate discomfort you may experience throughout its duration.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

This week's Indie World Showcase from Nintendo had plenty of games to show off, but Tunche from Peruvian developer LEAP was one of the highlights. Animated with hand-drawn art and inspired by Latin-American mythology, Tunche is a beat-'em-up roguelike set in the Amazon rainforest. In case you missed it, you can see the trailer for the quirky adventure game below. Tunche's story can also be played in four-player co-op, and its combat system is described as having a "stylish" grade system, not too dissimilar from Capcom's Devil May Cry series which pushes players to earn SSS-rank scores during enemy encounters. Taking control of Rumi, Qaru, Nayra, or Pancho and beating down an army of minions will eventually result in players facing off against one of the fantasy beast boss monsters who have become the masters of their jungle territory.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Coming from co-developers Dreams Uncorporated and SYCK, Cris Tales presents a whimsical story and weaves in an unconventional approach to a high-fantasy adventure by giving players the ability to alter time at will. Earlier this year, we got a chance to check out an extensive look at the game. It wears its respect for the classics on its sleeve, yet it still presents several cool ideas of its own.In this GameSpot exclusive, the developers of Cris Tales have shared an in-depth look at how Cris Tales' approach to time travel adds a new dimension to exploration, storytelling, and the game's turn-based combat. The story of Cris Tales focuses on the journey of Crisbell, a young adventurer who can alter the flow of time, allowing her to travel between three different time periods at will. In addition to exploring towns and interacting with characters across time, she can also use these abilities during battles to amplify her and her allies' attacks and even weaken monsters by shifting the flow of time."We call [Cris Tales] our love letter to the classic JRPGs of the past," said game producer Derek Neal in the walkthrough video. "And by that, we mean that this game takes a lot of inspiration from classics like Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy IV and VI, Super Mario RPG, and more. But it also has a lot of its own style, personality and charm. Rather than just copying those games, we've done our best to build upon those elements that make them great."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The year we thought would never end is nearly over, and we can actually begin to start looking forward to--and even seeing clearly--what we can plan to watch during the first month of 2021. While many of us will still be in quarantine and practicing social distancing because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, at least we still have plenty of ways to entertain ourselves thanks to platforms like Hulu. Here’s what you can expect to watch on Hulu in January 2021.January will usher in a veritable avalanche of movies that will pretty much have something for everybody to watch. Craving horror? There's Cujo and the Look Who's Talking trilogy. Want to catch up on some sci-fi movies you somehow missed? There's Blade Runner: The Final Cut, Star Trek Beyond, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, and Star Trek: First Contact. Want some comedy? There's the Austin Powers trilogy, The Foot Fist Way, and Face/Off. Want to swoon with nostalgia? The Princess Bride. You get the idea--January 1 is the most packed day of new arrivals for the month, so it's definitely worth a scan below to look beyond what's been highlighted here.Scattered throughout the month are new anime offerings like the dubbed Boruto: Complete Season 1 (January 5), though the inarguable highlight of the genre is the dubbed One-Punch Man: Complete Season 2 (January 10). If you've been snoozing on the latter, now would be a great time to start Season 1 of One-Punch Man--it's a brilliant homage and parody of anime conventions, played to the hilt.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

While movie and TV productions have restarted in both the US and UK, they are all under the very real risk of closing down if COVID-19 spreads throughout cast and crew. As a result, stringent safety procedures have been enacted across the industry. But that doesn't mean that they are always followed, as a furious Tom Cruise discovered this week.Cruise is currently in London shooting Mission Impossible 7 and 8, and he was extremely unimpressed when he saw crew members standing too close to each other. The star's reaction was an angry one, and it was recorded and leaked to the British newspaper The Sun.Cruise, who is also a producer on the Mission Impossible series, starts by saying that he wants the production to be the "gold standard" of safety and that the measures that have been put in place are being watched by Hollywood to show productions can operate safely. "I'm on the phone with every f***ing studio at night, insurance companies, producers, and they're looking at us and using us to make their movies," he yells. "We are creating thousands of jobs you motherf*****s."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Just a few days ago, players upset with the quality of Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 and Xbox One reported that they were being offered refunds. CD Projekt Red itself said that players should contact Microsoft or Sony in order to get the refund process started. However, it appears the company is now taking a different approach, as it is no longer recommending PlayStation players request a refund at all. You might be stuck waiting for the game to be fixed. That is, if it ever gets to a truly playable state on base consoles at all. In an email sent out to those who requested refund assistance (obtained by Waypoint's Patrick Klepek), CD Projekt Red still recommends that Xbox players contact Microsoft directly. For PlayStation players, however, it told them to wait for "us to get back to you." No timetable was given for when this could be. People are starting to get this response back from CD Projekt RED, after emailing their “help” address for refunds. The language is interesting: it doesn’t tell you to request a refund from Sony anymore. You’re supposed to wait. pic.twitter.com/Hb77SQ5teD — Patrick Klepek (@patrickklepek) December 16, 2020Sony's system appears to be more difficult to navigate than Microsoft's, as those who did obtain a refund often had to talk to Sony on the phone and state their case. Sony's refund policy typically only lets you get back the cash you spend as PlayStation Store credit if you haven't downloaded or started it yet, but it remains to be seen if that policy will be relaxed because of the widespread complaints about Cyberpunk 2077. As of now, there isn't any sort of agreement in place to make refunds easier.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Seth MacFarlane is reportedly the driving force behind an upcoming--and still very early--reboot of the formative '80s comedy Revenge of the Nerds, according to Variety. MacFarlane will be producing alongside Fuzzy Door Productions' Erica Huggins. Keith and Kenny Lucas, also known collectively as the The Lucas Brothers--who are identical twin comedians, actors, and writers--will be writing and starring in the reboot. Also helping with the writing will be Alex Rubens (Rick and Morty, Key and Peele).A pivotal word here is "reboot," meaning that the planned film will not be a straight remake. The Revenge of the Nerds is being described as a "contemporary reimagining that will pontificate about today's nerd culture and what even constitutes a geek in the 21st century." It's a good question, though this introspection also indicates that this film will not share the 1984 original's fondness for sexual assault jokes--just to name one of many problematic examples of elements that will likely not make the cut in the 21st century. MacFarlane at the helm here telegraphs there will be a savviness with handling potentially controversial material. The Revenge of the Nerds films spanned a quadrilogy from 1984 to 1994, and technically spawned an unofficial reboot already in the American Pie franchise. American Pie Presents: Beta House is a 2007 inversion of the original American Pie, portraying the jocks as being oppressed by the nerds because of their future earning potential as coders--leaving the jocks without dates and eager to retaliate.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Shinji Mikami, famed horror game director and the man behind the first and fourth Resident Evil games, said he might direct games again--if he could completely envision the project.Discussing his 30-year career in a profile by Variety, Mikami commented on what was supposed to be his last directing effort, 2014's The Evil Within through his own Tango Gameworks studio. The project started out with the codename "Noah" before ballooning into the survival horror title Mikami didn't expect it to become. If he could do it over, with the concept of the original "Noah" and his vision intact, Mikami said he'd direct games again."My thinking is that if I had a chance to make a game from the beginning to end that's completely my vision, then definitely, that would be my big last project as director," Mikami said. "It would probably be more fitting as that 'last game I direct' kind of thing."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The technical issues surrounding the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 have had an impact on CD Projekt Red's stock value, and that in turn is reportedly hitting its founders' net worth. Bloomberg reports that the company's founders have cut the value of their joint stake by $1 billion in only a matter of days. The joint 34% stake in the Polish company is co-owned by three executives--Marcin Iwinski, Adam Kicinski, and Piotr Nielubowicz--along with a fourth owner, Michal Kicinski. Those four have become the among the wealthiest Poles in recent years as anticipation grew for Cyberpunk. But as the stock has been dropping, so has their wealth. Their stake was reportedly worth about $3 billion on Tuesday.Perhaps more importantly, analysts say this launch has cost the studio significant credibility. Average analyst forecasts for 12-month sales dropped from 30 million copies before the release to 25.6 million copies now.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

A new year is almost upon us, and that means we'll all spend the first few weeks accidentally writing "2020" instead of "2021" on everything. Luckily, you can distract yourself from that upcoming mistake by watching new movies, TV shows, and original programming on Disney+. Here's what's coming in January 2020... I mean January 2021.Kicking off the month, another Marvel movie heads to Disney+. 2013's The Wolverine makes its way to the service, and while 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine was a bad film, the follow-up is worth checking out. The film follows Logan as he heads to Japan, loses his healing ability, and has to deal with the Yakuza. And the best part is... no "Deadpool."On January 15, everyone will be tuning into Disney+ to check out the first episode of the MCU's newest series WandaVision. There haven't been details for individual episodes, but the series will follow Scarlet Witch and Vision as they live together in some sort of bizarre sitcom with exceptionally dark undertones. The first trailer for the series was revealed in December, and the show looks very good.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
