Every aspect of Super Meat Boy Forever is frustrating in some way or another. It's a runner, so you have to time your jumps and don't have the liberty of setting yourself up perfectly before taking on a puzzle. And despite putting you on a treadmill, its levels demand incredible nuance and precision, which you'll hone through failure after failure after failure. Super Meat Boy Forever will kick you in the teeth and expect you to stand back up, flash a bloody grin, and go after it again. And that's exactly what happens. Though the jumps may be challenging, Forever's incredibly precise controls give you all the tools you need to stick the landing. The runner format is different, but it opens the door for new and interesting types of complex puzzles that spawn new, captivating varieties of spectacular yell-and-throw-your-controller platforming.Like in the real world, time has passed in the Meat Boy universe. Meat Boy and Bandage Girl, whom he saved in the original, have settled down and had a baby, Nugget. In Forever, Nugget is kidnapped, so Meat Boy and Bandage Girl go after her. (You can play as either one from the very beginning.) The story has no material effect on your gameplay, but the short cartoon cutscenes find ways to grab your attention all the same with a webtoony out-of-left-field story chock-full of references to video game canon, adorable woodland creatures, cuddly animals, and the adorable little Nugget, who often proves too adorable for even her captor to ignore.Super Meat Boy Forever captured on PCThe cutscenes are thus an entertaining reward for hard-earned progress. Following in the original Super Meat Boy's footsteps, Forever lays out levels sprinkled with bottomless pits and buzzsaws that require quick thinking and quicker reflexes to escape. At the same time, it's a very different game. Meat Boy or Bandage Girl constantly runs forward, and you simply control when they jump, slide, or punch. By necessity, the levels take on longer, more horizontally oriented shapes to accommodate the new system. Despite those changes, Forever still retains the essence of Super Meat Boy. Though automated movement theoretically seems like it would make the platforming less satisfying, since you aren't in complete control, Forever's challenge is just as captivating.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The AR game Minecraft Earth will be shutting down this summer, Mojang has announced. In a statement, the studio explained that the coronavirus pandemic had hampered key components of the game, forcing it to move its resources to other projects."Minecraft Earth was designed around free movement and collaborative play--two things that have become near impossible in the current global situation," Mojang said on the Minecraft blog. "As a result, we have made the difficult decision to re-allocate our resources to other areas that provide value to the Minecraft community and to end support for Minecraft Earth in June 2021."A final update to the game, releasing today, will make some changes to facilitate playing indoors, while also removing monetization hooks. The update will remove all real-money transactions, grant some free character creator items, drastically reduce ruby costs, and reduce the time and resources needed for crafting items.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Cyberpunk 2077 launched in rough shape, and even though developer CD Projekt Red has addressed some issues with various hotfix patches the reality is that the open-world RPG still has numerous issues. One such issue allows you to propel yourself across the highways faster than any vehicle, and it's already being put to good use.Bunnyhopping shouldn't be unfamiliar to you if you've watch a speedrun or two. With careful input and care for momentum conservation, players can turn a simple forward hop into a cascade of acceleration that sometimes never hits a ceiling. Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't go that far, but it's clear from some videos (via Rock Paper Shotgun) that you can build up a ridiculous amount of speed on foot as V.In a city filled with cybernetic limbs, having characters move this fast doesn't seem as out of the ordinary as it might in other games. Yet it's clearly not a method of movement the game was designed for. Despite that, it's become a big part of the blossoming speedrunning scene the game has already fostered, with improvements allowing for the technique to be used without any special augmentations required.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Netflix's proudly profane educational series History of Swear Words has landed on the streaming service. While the name alone will likely be enough for people to decide whether it might be up their alley, the fact that Nicolas Cage (doing his best Nicolas Cage impression) hosts should just about sum up everything there is to say about the new show. How many times can Nicolas Cage say "fuck" in a single episode of television? Time to find out. History of Swear Words is now on Netflix pic.twitter.com/ZAfY24AZJX — Netflix (@netflix) January 5, 2021Across six episodes all out now, Cage walks viewers through the etymology and societal force of many words we cannot print here, including f***, s***, d***, p****--you get the idea. With equal parts gravitas and the bizarre captivating delivery that only Cage can supply, the actor chews the scenery by shouting and swinging wildly by adding emphasis on even the non-highlighted words in the strangest places. The result is a fourth-wall breaking, tongue-in-cheek show that is funny, weird, and also informative.Reactions are slowly brewing and accumulating on social media, likely because many are still adjusting to their non-break schedules. Check out some of the standout reactions below. (For those who are in the debating mood, there are a number of threads off the tweet above where people are wondering whether anything can even be considered a swear word anymore.)Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

There have been numerous reports of Nvidia preparing a RTX 3080 Ti already with a big boost to its VRAM, but given the company's pattern of launching products shortly after announcement it might be too early for that to hit shelves in the midst of an ongoing shortage of regular RTX 3080 and 3090 supply.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Powered by one AA battery, it boasts a battery life of up to 200 hours when using its low-latency 2.4GHz connection and up to 300 when using Bluetooth. Owners will also be able to adjust the mouse's palm rest as well as switch out its pinky rests to make for the most comfortable experience. See at Mad Catz In addition to the new mouse switch and huge battery life, the RAT DWS also features a precision aim button. Mad Catz hasn't said exactly how this works, but it likely lowers the mouse's sensitivity for fine-tuning those long-distance sniper shots. On top of that it comes with a barrel scroll wheel that should work well for switching weapons, an adjustable 16K DPI optical sensor, and 14 programmable buttons.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
