Super Mario Bros. 35's first collaborative event has ended, and it was a success. The event tasked players with cumulatively defeating 3.5 million Bowsers, and they exceeded that goal, defeating 5,363,696 Bowsers in total.As a reward for surpassing the event goal, everyone who participated and defeated at least one Bowser during the event will receive 350 Platinum points in their My Nintendo account. Having successfully revived the king of monsters in 2016's Shin Godzilla, director Hideaki Anno is now ready to reveal the greatest of Japan's television heroes, Ultraman. Our first look comes in the brand-new trailer for Shin Ultraman.The trailer doesn't actually say much, but it gives us our first look at the hero. Shin Ultraman comes from writer Hideaki Anno and director Shinji Higuchi. The pair worked together on 2016's Shin Godzilla. and even in just 36 seconds this trailer seems to suggest that Shin Ultraman will have a lot in common with that film.Like Shin Godzilla, the film goes with a very classic take on the character. We only see Ultraman in the final moments, but we get a clear look at him. Where Netflix's 2019 Ultraman anime significantly updated and streamlined the look of the character, this version looks a lot like it did in the original 1966 television show. When Jac Schaeffer sat down to begin writing WandaVision, Marvel Studios' first Disney+ TV show, she already had plenty of experience in the universe. As a co-writer of Captain Marvel and the writer of the upcoming Black Widow, she's firmly entrenched in the MCU. It was, however, her first outing as a TV writer, which highlighted some interesting differences in the process."It's very lonely to write a feature by yourself," Schaeffer told GameSpot. Apex Legends Season 8 is bringing a slew of changes, including a shiny new gun called the 30-30 Repeater. It's a lever-action rifle designed to fill the hole players were feeling in the heavy weapon set.Starting out, the 30-30 will have six shots. Obtaining higher level magazines will increase its shot count, starting at eight with a level one magazine, ten with a level two magazine, and 12 with a level three magazine. The gun also has a charge bar that will change location depending on what kind of sight you have equipped. As you'd expect, the more you charge the 30-30, the more damage it deals, with its hits scaling accordingly if you only complete the charge midway. Full-charge headshots do 100 damage, and full-charge body shots do 57 damage. Meanwhile no-charge spamming body shots do 42 damage, and no-charge headshots do 74 damage.If you're looking to add the 30-30 into your regular arsenal, you will need to learn how to time using charged shots versus spamming regular ones. The 30-30 falls in between the G7 and Longbow guns in terms of play. The G7's fire rate is faster, but its shots do less damage, while the Longbow shoots more slowly but also does more damage. Bungie is making a number of changes to Destiny 2 starting in its upcoming season, adjusting how content will be dished out and how you'll earn rewards when you log in. Starting in the next content season, Bungie is doing away with its weekly bounty system that requires players to sign in and complete certain objectives within a week in order to gain certain rewards, including premium currency.The latest This Week At Bungie blog runs down how Destiny 2 will change starting with the next content season, which kicks off on February 9. Currently, players can log in each week and pick up weekly bounties from various in-game vendors, which reward experience points and Bright Dust, one of Destiny 2's premium currencies, upon completion. You only have a week to knock out those bounties once you have them, and if you want to maximize both your XP gains (which controls your climb to rewards on Destiny 2's season pass) and your Bright Dust gains, you need to play every week.Bungie is changing out that system for a new one called Seasonal Challenges. New challenges unlock each week through the first 10 weeks of a new season, giving players objectives to chase across a variety of activities. Titans began with one Robin and quickly added another, and the second season ended with none. Titans Season 3 is set to remedy that as a third Robin, Tim Drake, joins the cast.Actor Jay Lycurgo will recur during third season of Titans as Tim Drake, a third Robin who followed in the footsteps of Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. According to Variety, HBO describes Drake as a "streetwise kid who's managed to grow up on the toughest streets without losing his indelible belief in heroism." He has an easy-going demeanor and a near-genius mind that allows him to excel as a detective.This is interesting as it both seems to diverge from the comic book version of Drake while feeling pretty similar to Jason Todd as portrayed in Titans Season 2 by Curran Walters. While Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) was the first Robin and has been working through the trauma that came with that, Todd stepped into the role with a chip on his shoulder. The Offer is an upcoming ten-episode series that takes a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the iconic film The Godfather. Now, the Paramount+ series has lost its star. Armie Hammer, who had previously signed on to play Al Ruddy, the producer of the film, has exited the project.The news comes from Variety as Hammer is alleged to have sent graphic messages to women online, some of which alluded to fantasies about abuse and cannibalism. Olija takes exactly as much time as it needs to tell its story and show you everything in its bag of tricks.Olija follows Faraday, a shipwrecked lord trapped on a hostile chain of islands called Terraphage. Facing all sorts of magic, dark oozing blobs, and people who want him dead, the lost lord seems doomed, but he quickly finds a weapon to turn his fortune: a legendary magic harpoon that he can throw and either teleport to its location or summon back to him. To get home and, optionally, save his crew, Faraday explores the islands of Terraphage, defeats a hidden evil, saves a queen--you know, hero stuff.Though it boils down to a clichéd hero's quest at the most essential level, Olija teases a lot of narrative out of a small amount of exposition. Faraday has a small retinue of recurring companions and acquaintances he meets on his journey, including a ferryman who brings him from island to island and shipwrecked sailors of Oaktide, a floating shantytown. While Faraday is silent, his companions speak to him, and you can sense the bond that forms between them. Their spoken tone softens and they grow more familiar as Faraday integrates into their lives. Disney hasn't always had the cleanest record with race representation with some of its past and most notable films. Classics as Peter Pan, Aristocats, and Dumbo are plagued with racial stereotypes and inaccuracies that have followed the legacies of these movies for decades. Now, Disney is trying to rectify that with their Stories Matter initiative.Yesterday it was announced that the Jungle Cruise ride will be given an overhaul to reflect a more sensitive look to indigenous tribes and get rid of the "return to civilization" story of the ride as well. Last year it was also revealed that Splash Mountain will get a facelift and become Princess and The Frog-themed.Disney isn't stopping there. Sony has unveiled February's lineup of PlayStation Plus freebies for PS5 and PS4 users. We've known about one of the upcoming free games since the PS5's launch. Destruction AllStars, which was originally slated to release alongside the console, will be available to PS Plus subscribers in February. The vehicular combat game is a PS5 exclusive and joins Concrete Genie and Control: Ultimate edition, which is getting a free PS5 upgrade on February 2. All three games will be available to claim starting February 2.Destruction AllStars is an online multiplayer title developed by Lucid Games. Players take control of one of 16 playable characters, each of whom has their own vehicle with unique weapons and moves. As the title suggests, the goal is to zip around the arena and destroy your opponents' vehicles. If your vehicle gets destroyed, you can compete on foot, which understandably will make it tougher to emerge victorious. Destruction AllStars will be free for subscribers until April 5.Control: Ultimate edition's PS5 version releases on February 2, the same day it becomes free for PS Plus subscribers. It will be available for both PS4 and PS5 users. The Ultimate edition comes with both DLC packs, and PS5 owners will get a free upgrade that lets you play in two different modes: Performance and Graphics. Performance will run the game in 60 frames-per-second, and Graphics mode runs at 30 frames-per-second with ray tracing. A trio a watches celebrating the Persona series are coming in limited numbers soon, showcasing designs from Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5.The timepieces stand out with the colors of the games they're inspired from, with motifs from each adorning the watch face. The straps feature more pointed references to the protagonists of each entry, with Joker's mask from Persona 5, Evoker from Persona 3, and the glasses from Persona 4 both featuring on their respective clasps.
