During the February 2021 Nintendo Direct livestream, Nintendo announced that Tales from the Borderlands will be coming to Nintendo Switch on March 24. This release will include all five episodes of the game.Unlike the main Borderlands games, Tales from the Borderlands is not a first-person shooter. The choose-your-own-adventure game is set in the Borderlands universe, between 2 and 3, and originally released as five separate episodes in 2014 and 2015. The trailer listed off the names of several monsters you'll go up against in the upcoming Switch game and also provided a detailed look at how your fights against said monsters will go.The trailer also revealed that a Monster Hunter-themed Deluxe Switch Edition will release alongside the game. They're holding a superhero tournament to determine the fate of the planet, so naturally, Travis has thrown his hat into the ring. You won't just jump into a series of boss fights against various alien baddies, though. Each battle requires an entry fee, which means Travis will have to complete some odd jobs around town to earn the cash he needs to participate. Nintendo announced that the new narrative platformer from ex-Danganronpa developers Too Kyo Games, World's End Club, is slated to launch on Nintendo Switch on May 28.The game is available on iOS via Apple Arcade and combines 2D side-scrolling action with narrative storytelling to create an immersive puzzle-platforming experience. Nintendo shared more details on Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Mario-themed update during the February 2021 Nintendo Direct. The free update is slated to arrive February 25 and will add a line of Mushroom Kingdom furniture, clothing, and other Mario-themed content to the life sim. The Mario items will be available to order from Nook Shopping starting March 1, and they include question blocks, Super Mushrooms, Thwomps, fire flowers, and more. You'll also be able to place two warp pipes on your island; if you enter one, you will emerge from the other, just like in the Mario games. Currently called Project Triangle Strategy, the game uses a new combat system and a more complex decision-making system that should let you shape your own unique story. A tactical role-playing game rather than a standard turn-based role-playing game like Octopath Traveler, Project Triangle Strategy takes place in the continent of Norzelia, which is in a state of conflict called the "Saltiron War" for control of the two key resources.The Kingdom of Glenbrook sees multiple factions vying for control, split between views utility, liberty, and morality. You'll be able to choose your own path within the storyline, as well, picking from multiple possible actions at key moments. Nintendo and Koei Tecmo are releasing more content for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. As revealed during today's Nintendo Direct broadcast, the game is getting an Expansion Pass that will add new weapons, characters, and more.The Expansion Pass is divided up into two waves of content. The first will arrive this June and expand the game's roster, introduce new weapon types, new challenges, and more challenging enemies. It'll be launching on April 15 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PC, and iOS/Android. There's a new Star Wars game coming to Nintendo Switch in 2021. Star Wars: Hunters will bring some competitive online play to the console from a galaxy far, far away, Nintendo revealed during today's Nintendo Direct broadcast.The teaser for Star Wars: Hunters didn't provide too much in the way of details, but publisher Zynga filled in some gaps with a press release after the Nintendo Direct concluded. Star Wars: Hunters is a third-person arena shooter that will be free-to-play and online. You'll join a squad in competitive battles in various Star Wars locales, with the game taking place after the fall of the Empire, between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. If you'll recall, that's a span that covers about 35 years, so it could entail just about anything.The short trailer swept through the familiar locale of Jabba's palace and showed holograms of what look like different potential fighter characters with different weapons. The suggestion is that you'll mix melee weapons with gunplay, with the opportunity to wield heavy blasters, dual pistols, clubs, and lightsabers. The characters in the holograms included a Wookiee, a stormtrooper, and a guy who looked to be sporting something like Mandalorian armor. During its February 2021 Direct presentation, Nintendo announced Splatoon 3. The next game in the unique third-person shooter series is scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch in 2022. The teaser trailer, which you can watch below, begins in a desert-like wasteland. It shows off character customization, including skin tone, eye color, and hairstyle; notably, it appears that none of the customization options are tied to gender selection, as was the case in the previous Splatoon games. The trailer also shows off a handful of weapons, including a brand-new bow, and some classic Turf War action. Splatoon 3 says goodbye to Inkopolis and instead takes place in the Splatlands, a new region with a new city: Splatsville.
