Rainbow Six Siege's latest operator, Flores, was unveiled a few days ago, and now Ubisoft has unveiled a full Year 6 roadmap for the game. Good behavior is also a central pillar of Year 6, and there will be a new tool to help with this.As revealed previously, Rainbow Six Siege's first season in Year 6 will be Crimson Heist, and in addition to Flores joining the battle, it also includes a reworked version of the Border map. If you're on a PC test server, you can start playing it tomorrow, February 22. Seasons 2 will include a Nakoda Nations operator and a rework of Favela, while Season 3 will include three reworks for maps and will feature Croatian operators. A fourth operator will be from Ireland, and the Outback map will be getting a rework. It's more than just content updates coming this year, though. Several gameplay elements are being reworked, including being able to control cameras and gadgets after you've died, as well as letting attackers change out operators as many times as they need to during the match's preparation phase. Armor will be switched to health, as well, and there will be a new one-bullet weapon called the Gonne-6 that can destroy bulletproof gadgets. It's only available to a few operators, including Glaz, Dokkaebi, Lion, Finka, Amaru, Gridlock, Iana, and Zero.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Sony's problems with the PS5's DualSense controller may be harder to solve than we thought. With a class-action lawsuit recently filed against Sony over issues with DualSense controllers' drifting analog sticks, the company could be looking at ways it can improve the design. Unfortunately, the problem doesn't look like it has an easy fix.In a new video from iFixit, the site looks into the reasons why the problem is becoming more prevalent, and it found the DualSense is using "off the shelf" joystick modules that have been prone to drifting in the past. The same module is used by a lot of other controllers, too, including the Nintendo Switch Pro controller and the Xbox Elite controller, the latter of which has seen drifting issues of its own.The joysticks aren't easy to remove for quick replacement, either. On the DualSense, haptic motor wires are soldered to the board, and these must be removed before you can do anything else. Once that's done, 14 different solder points must be melted to get off the joystick module at all. Aside from the wiring for the haptics, none of the issues seem to be tied to the new triggers, which utilize their own motors to add variable resistance. Of course, the system has only been out for a few months, so it's possible that could change.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

BlizzCon veterans Metallica returned for this year's only-only BlizzConline festivities, but the thrash metal band's performance was ruined by a most unlikely culprit: Twitch. Right in the middle of one of its songs, the audio was replaced by some easy listening bell music, presumably to avoid having Blizzard banned for a false DMCA notice. The clip, which esports expert Rod Breslau shared on Twitter, shows the band rocking out, with lead guitarist Kirk Hammett shredding, completely unaware that people were hearing what sounded like the main menu theme for a Teletubbies game. We didn't have to hear that tinny snare drum, however, which is a bonus. the current state of Twitch: the official Twitch Gaming channel cut off the live Metallica concert to play 8bit folk music to avoid DMCA pic.twitter.com/sCn56So8Ee — Rod Breslau (@Slasher) February 19, 2021Several commenters online have pointed out the irony of this happening to Metallica. The band, particularly drummer Lars Ulrich, has been heavily critical of online music sharing, and the band had a high-profile case with Napster back in 2000.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Keith Gill might be the biggest surprise celebrity of 2021 so far. The investor, who often posts on the WallStreetBets Reddit page, was largely responsible for triggering a massive spike in the price of GameStop stock, ultimately becoming a multimillionaire and hurting short-sellers who bet on the stock to fail. He seemed to be a genius regarding finding a flaw in the system, sending traditional Wall Street investors into a panic. But even Gill doesn't really know how everything works here.Speaking during a Congressional hearing about the GameStop situation (via PC Gamer), Gill admitted he "barely" understands certain elements of the previous month's events, including Robinhood halting purchases when GameStop's stock had peaked at several hundred dollars."It's alarming how little we know about the inner-workings of the market, and I am thankful that this Committee is examining what happened," he said.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Rare's canceled game Dinosaur Planet, which would eventually be overhauled and released as Star Fox Adventures for GameCube, has leaked in its original state online. The game was planned for the Nintendo 64, and much of its DNA still exists in Star Fox Adventures--hence that game's major differences from the rest of the series.Shared by the Nintendo historian Forest of Illusion on Twitter and spotted by VGC, Dinosaur Planet is fully playable via this leaked version, though the account said it won't run perfectly on emulators. The build appears to be from after Nintendo had already decided to mix in elements of Star Fox, as you can see Fox McCloud himself in one of the screenshots. The game was still called Dinosaur Planet at this point, however.Today we have released Dinosaur Planet by Rare for Nintendo 64. The development was halted and moved to the GameCube, where it was then released as Star Fox Adventures. Enjoy! (More info in this thread).Link to the dump:https://t.co/gQGGcU4vJK pic.twitter.com/Orub7RU3fa — Forest of Illusion (@forestillusion) February 20, 2021It's peculiar to see how Fox had been seemingly shoehorned into the game at this point, wearing his usual outfit but with a sword on his back. He ended up using a staff as his main weapon in Star Fox Adventures but went back to his blaster and other sci-fi technology for Star Fox Assault a few years later.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

343 Industries has opted to delay the public flighting of its latest Halo: The Master Chief Collection update by a week in order to fix bugs. Fans can expect a lot of new content in this flight, which will be available to those in Halo Insider's Ring 3. To help make the wait a little easier, we also have some images of the two new maps coming to Halo 3's multiplayer."If all goes well in Rings 1 and 2, we plan to roll out our next public flight as early as next Thursday, February 25," 343 Industries said in an update post. "Then we are planning in rough a week or so, an update to the flight to bring more content and features online that we are working hard on." World of Warcraft's new Chains of Domination update for the Shadowlands expansion is adding a brand-new mount that is a giant ancient tree that you can ride and stomp around on. Finally. It's probably my most-anticipated part of the update (I am only joking a little). At BlizzConline, I spoke with WoW principle game designer Jeremy Feasel about this mount, including how it came about, why it's so unique, and how it connects to the wider lore.Blizzard launched a player survey some time ago asking fans what they would like to see from a new mount, allowing them to vote to determine what it would be. The idea was to work closely with the community in a new way to help players feel a greater sense of connection to Azeroth and the Warcraft universe. Some of the other options in the survey included a giant book you could ride, a kitty cat made of jelly, a caterpillar, and a creepy spider.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Diablo 2: Resurrected was announced during BlizzCon 2021's opening ceremony, and the updated version of the classic dungeon-crawler makes significant improvements to the visuals--to the point that it almost looks like a brand-new game. However, Blizzard's track record with remastered games is spotty, particularly after Warcraft III: Reforged released to a negative reception due to missing features and few meaningful improvements. Blizzard is looking to avoid a similar fate for Diablo 2: Resurrected.Speaking to GameSpot's Alessandro Fillari during BlizzCon, designer Andre Abrahamian said the team knew it needed to maintain the core gameplay of the original Diablo 2 when it started on the project. It isn't designed to replace that game, either, as both will still be available through Battle.net. If players prefer the older version, they're still able to play it, instead.Producer Matthew Cederquist added that there will also be a technical alpha test happening shortly that will allow players to provide feedback on the game so far, which Blizzard will then do its best to implement. If the developers felt something was straying too far from the original formula while designing the new version, however, it wasn't implemented, so it should still feel like Diablo 2 for veterans.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

CD Projekt seems to have some issue with punks trying to share its cyber-data. The company had game code stolen and allegedly sold off as part of a hack earlier this month, and the company is doing everything in its power to prevent the code for games like Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 from spreading online. One strategy it's using is serving DMCA notices to those trying to share the code online. According to Vice, on Thursday, February 18, two different Twitter users were notified of a DMCA takedown related to sharing code for the card game Gwent. At least one of the tweets in question contained a link to the game's source code. The hackers left a ransom note after committing the attack against CD Projekt, but the company said it wasn't going to give in to these demands when it initially shared the news, knowing the data could be released if it didn't agree.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The Walking Dead may be coming to an end soon, but the zombie series is far from the last thing we will see from Robert Kirkman on TV. His upcoming animated TV show Invincible, based on his comic book series of the same name, will be headed to Amazon Prime to stream on March 26. Check out the new trailer--and the show's A-list voice acting cast, including Steven Yuen, JK Simmons, Sandra Oh, Mark Hamill, Seth Rogen, and Mahershala Ali--right now.Invincible is, unsurprisingly, less zombie-filled than Kirkman's work on The Walking Dead, but features no shortage of blood and violence, as featured in the trailer. The story of Mark Grayson, the teenage son (Yuen) of the world's most powerful superhero, Omni-Man (Simmons), Invincible tackles everything from high flying cape-and-cowl action to deep and devastating family drama. Mark begins to develop superpowers of his own and takes on the codename Invincible--but, as you might surmise from the moments teased in the trailer, things don't exactly go smoothly for him. And, as it turns out, your identity isn't the only thing you have to hide when you decide to put on a mask and try to save the world.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

It seems rapper Soulja Boy is getting back into console manufacturing after his first attempt failed when he was hit with cease-and-desist letters from major companies in the industry.Soulja Boy tried getting into the console market in 2019 when he announced the Soulja Game Console but clarified that the business was focused on selling rebranded video game consoles and refurbished tech accessories at a markup. With BlizzCon 2021--officially known as BlizzConline--fast approaching, it's more than likely we're going to hear some exciting announcements about Blizzard's biggest new games. While the schedule is hashed out at this point, with several panels centered around the company's key projects, like Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4, we're hoping that there are some larger surprises in store too.To commemorate the intense hype and anticipation we have approaching this weekend's festivities, we decided to wax on about what we'd love to hear confirmed. Below we've detailed our biggest dream announcements that we hope are made at BlizzConline 2021. What are your dream BlizzConline 2021 announcements that you desperately want to get made? Let us know in the comments below.Announce A Remastered Version Of The Original DiabloThe Diablo series seems to be getting plenty of attention as of late with games like Diablo IV, the mobile spin-off Immortal, and rumors of a potential Diablo 2 remaster. While much of the attention is on those games, I think Blizzard's action-RPG series's original entry is long due for another look. This is the one big hope I have for BlizzCon. If Blizzard were to announce the original game's return with modernized visuals and mechanics, I would be delighted. Seeing the return of the original crew of dungeon-crawlers in a modern light sounds like an incredible way to revisit the series's roots. Plus, adding in co-op and other modern updates can make for a game that not only enhances what made the original game so novel at the time but also shows newcomers the beginnings of the loot-focused action-RPG as we know it. The series no doubt found its true identity with Diablo 2, but I think there's a lot of potential with having the original Diablo make a return. -- Alessandro Fillari, EditorContinue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

As part of the ongoing legal battle between Apple and Epic games--which may be heading to trial this year--a new filing has disclosed that Apple subpoenaed Valve Software back in November. The subpoena demanded that Valve provide multiple years worth of commercial data about Steam operations and sales.Apple's reasoning for the subpoena was basically that since its case is built around competitive practices, this data from Steam would be key to demonstrating the company's points. Apple's argument is being handled by the law firm of McDermott, Will and Lowery, and states that the data from Valve is relevant to its case against Epic because "Valve’s digital distribution service, Steam, is the dominant digital game distributor on the PC platform and is a direct competitor to the Epic Game Store."There are two requests within the subpoena in particular that have been causing tension between Valve and Apple. According to a joint discovery letter that was submitted to the Northern California District Court yesterday, "Apple and Valve have engaged in several meet and confers, but Valve has refused to produce information responsive to Requests 2 and 32."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
