Netflix has yet to comment on this casting.Monster is set to dramatize the real life events surrounding Dahmer, the serial killer responsible for the murders of 17 men over 13 years. The show will focus largely on the perspective of his victims and explore the various reasons Dahmer was allowed to kill for as long as he did, including police incompetence and general apathy toward the victims themselves, who were largely people of color. There were at least ten instances where Dahmer was very nearly apprehended by the authorities but ultimately allowed to walk free, which will feature heavily in the series.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

If you're in the market for a new gaming monitor, you're going to brush up against three distinct types of displays that all come with their own pros and cons. We're here to break down exactly what you need to know about TN, IPS, and VA panels and help you make the right choice for your exact gaming needs. There are three display panel types that cover most gaming monitors (cutting-edge technology like mini-LED and OLED are coming, but we won't cover that here). TN (twisted nematic), IPS (in-plane switching), and VA (vertical alignment) all use the same technology at their core--molecules that react according to different voltages to move and produce an image--but their differences and evolutions have made each one good for specific use cases.Types of panelsTN (Twisted Nematic)TN panels are the oldest of the three, dominating the market when LCD displays were introduced and quickly phasing out those old (but still good) CRT monitors. Since TN panels came first, they also feature the most compromised performance if you're looking for a display that can make your games look their best.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Although they take place in separate universes, it appears a small Easter egg has been found connecting two of Naughty Dog's most recent games: The Last of Us Part II and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.Reddit user kheinrichs547 shared an Uncharted 4 screenshot of a hand holding a pill bottle from Weston's Pharmacy, the same in The Last of Us Part II. The same pharmacy throughout last of us 2. from r/thelastofusIn the post's comments, users point out that Weston's Pharmacy was also referenced in the original The Last of Us and its Left Behind DLC. Players can visit the pharmacy toward the end of The Last of Us Part II's Seraphites chapte. Netflix has scooped up the recently announced Ali Wong-Steven Yeun vehicle, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series, which is a dramedy titled Beef, will reportedly "follow two people involved in a road rage incident, both of whom let it burrow into their minds until it slowly consumes their every thought and action."Wong and Yeun will both co-star and co-executive produce Beef, which is now being described as a limited series with 10 episodes, in collaboration with creator and showrunner Lee Sung Jin. Jin is co-executive producer on the polarizing but surprisingly vulnerable FXX comedy Dave about a white rapper and has also worked on HBO's Silicon Valley, FX's Singularity, and Amazon's Undone. As if those aren't enough credits to convey Jin's prolific nature and great track record, he's also working on the Showtime pilot Omniverse with Kanye West, Jaden Smith, and Scooter Braun.Beef finds Wong and Yeun reteaming after working together on the short-lived and thankfully recently revived Tuca & Bertie, while the series itself sees Yeun reteam with A24--a production company Yeun just worked with on the immigrant drama Minari. Through Minari, Yeun recently made trailblazing Oscars history as the first ever Asian-American Best Actor nominee.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam movie continues to round out its cast, this time adding the legendary Pierce Brosnan to the fold as Dr. Fate, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Brosnan is only the most recent addition to the line up, which already includes Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Aldis Hodge as Hawkman. The Old Guard's Marwan Kenzari has also been cast in a mystery role.Brosnan will be playing Kent Nelson, the first of a long line of heroes to adopt the Dr. Fate name and mantle. The son of an archeologist, young Kent was accompanying his father on a dig when he mistakenly opened the tomb of an ancient sorcerer named Nabu the Wise. The incident killed his father but left Kent to be raised by Nabu himself, who tutored him in the ways of magic and eventually gave him his iconic helmet and cloak.Kent went on to act as one of the co-founders of the Justice Society of America. He's also, funnily enough, an actual medical doctor much like his Marvel cousin, Doctor Strange. Over time, the Dr. Fate mantle was passed on to numerous other magic users in DC comics, including the young Khalid Nassour, the most recent addition to the list, who some fans speculated may be the role Marwan Kenzari had been cast to fill. Brosnan's casting doesn't entirely rule out a live action debut for Khalid, of course, but it might make it a bit less likely.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

There have been so many Justice League members over the years that Zack Snyder's Justice League could've included any number of cameos and teases. Two scenes in Sndyer's film featured prominent League member Martian Manhunter, played by actor Harry Lennix. Snyder revealed in a new interview with Esquire, though, that last scene was meant to feature the Green Lantern known as John Stewart."The last scene with Martian Manhunter, originally, I had shot it in England. And the dialogue was very similar, but it was supposed to be one of the Lanterns," Snyder said. "And then the studio had told me I wasn't allowed to shoot anything. There would be no film made of any kind. During production, that was a thing they insisted on."The journey to Zack Snyder's Justice League has been anything but traditional, though, and Snyder defied the order. "I shot stuff anyway, of course, in my yard. And one of the things I shot was the Green Lantern scene."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

In It Takes Two, you fight the kind of common, red toolbox that might be sitting in your garage, or your parents' garage. It's one of the best boss battles I've ever played. In the level leading up to this, co-op protagonists Cody and May learn to chuck nails and wield a hammer head, respectively. Cody can shoot nails into wooden surfaces; May can use the hammer to swing on those nails. Cody can nail moving platforms in place; May can hop onto those platforms, or wall jump between vertical surfaces that Cody can position via strategic nail shots. Eventually, he gets three nails to throw instead of one, leading to some excitingly frantic platforming. The boss fight that closes this level uses those abilities in concert. Cody and May stand on a plywood platform, facing off against the toolbox. It can swing at them with bolted on plywood arms, which the duo needs to dodge. To deal any damage, Cody has to pin its long, wooden limb to a wall with his three nails, allowing May to swing over and smack its tinny body. As the fight proceeds, the toolbox shoots nails into the air which hurtle down at the plywood platform, a platform which gradually shrinks as the toolbox uses a handsaw to whittle it down to a nub with strategic cuts.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

We don't see enough Chinese legends and folklore explored in Western games, which is what makes the pitch for Immortals Fenyx Rising's second expansion, Myths of the Eastern Realm, so exciting. Developed by Ubisoft Chengdu, the DLC moves Immortals' open-world structure from Greek to Chinese mythology. But while its open-world fundamentals are still solid, the Chinese mythology that defines its aesthetic is more of a coat of paint than an imaginative look at a new realm.Myths of the Eastern Realm wastes no time getting you up to speed. After a brief explanation of how chaos threatens to upset the balance of Heaven and Earth and how a mysterious force has wiped out most of the world's gods, new hero Ku wakes up inside a cave filled with his compatriots, who've been turned to stone. The legendary Bu Zhou mountain has erupted and caused the emergence of the Scar, a powerful primordial force reverting the world back into chaos. The premise is almost identical to the base game's, and that ends up being true of the rest of the expansion: The two new islands that make up the DLC's Mortal Lands are hard to distinguish from the Golden Isles from the original game, even if the buildings and foliage are pulled from Chinese history.Immortals Fenyx Rising: Myths of the Eastern Realm DLC captured on PCImmortals' main loop, in which you search for a nearby mountaintop, tag a bunch of icons so they appear on your map, then hunt them down until you decide to progress the story, is identical. That's not necessarily a bad thing, since it was a good loop the first time around. But solving a new round of puzzles and checking icons off on a map lost its allure much more quickly in this DLC--Myths of the Eastern Realm just doesn't have much to keep that loop interesting. Unlocking my glide ability, clearing out vaults (now called gateways), and grappling enemies isn't as fun because Ku plays exactly like Fenyx, and I'm disappointed he doesn't have any new abilities that change how you explore or interact with the world a second time through. The fact that your skills are now called the Blades of Huang Di and Pangu's Strength instead of Ares' Wrath and Herakles' Strength does little to hide that.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Epic Games has removed Cuddle Fish from Fortnite's competitive playlists due to "an issue," the studio has confirmed. Posting on Twitter, the developer said it will reinstate Cuddle Fish when the issue is fixed, but the company did not elaborate on what the issue is in the first place. It appears Epic may be making this change due to an exploit of sorts that players have discovered using Cuddle Fish, a new item that was introduced in the Season 6 update. These fish can be used as sticky grenades, and when stacked on top of each other, they do impressive damage. Perhaps Epic is not happy with this and is looking to make a change. As you can see in the video below (via Sportskeeda), a player sticks a handful of the fish onto a truck, then drives it close to a nearby player, jumps out, and then shoots the fish to detonate a chain reaction explosion that kills the opponent.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The Final Fantasy XI Reboot that was in joint development with Nexon and Square Enix has been officially cancelled. Originally announced in 2015 and scheduled for a 2016 launch, the reboot would have brought a new version of the PS2 MMORPG Final Fantasy XI to mobile platforms. As spotted by Gematsu, and confirmed by Japanese-language outlet Gamebiz.jp, the two companies agreed that the game did not meet the quality standards expected by fans of the Final Fantasy series. All staff working on the reboot have been reallocated to other projects.Though screenshots of the game were revealed in 2016, the project itself was rarely mentioned by both companies in the intervening years, with occasional statements from Nexon or Square Enix confirming that the game was still under development. Back in December 2020, the Korean news network MTN announced in a report that the project had been cancelled in part due to the Covid-19 pandemic. At the time, Square Enix refused to comment.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
