A Halo Infinite developer has responded to a gameplay video making the rounds about the sci-fi shooter's use of aim assist on PC. Lead sandbox designer Quinn DelHoyo shared some important context about what's actually happening in an attempt to downplay concerns about it.DelHoyo explained that this video looks like an extreme example of aim assist--because it is. The player has gone AFK and the game moves the crosshairs onto the enemy as part of the aim assist feature, which is popular in many online shooters. DelHoyo pointed out that, had the player touched the mouse (or controller, presumably), aim-assist would be "instantly disabled.""Once movement stops, it takes half a second to enable again. This does not come into effect during gameplay," DelHoyo said.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The arrival of the No Time To Die in two weeks feels like something of a milestone in the ongoing state of flux that is film distribution. The latest James Bond is hardly the first of 2020's delayed blockbusters to finally hit screens--F9: The Fast Saga, Black Widow, Jungle Cruise, and A Quiet Place: Part 2 all finally reached theaters this year. But with an original release date of April 2020, No Time To Die was one of the first films to be delayed, and the 18 months between that date and its final US debut on October 8 will be the longest wait for any major movie in the COVID era. It's also a period of time that has seen previously unthinkable shifts in the way Hollywood distributes films and how audiences consume them. One year ago, GameSpot published this article, which tracked the events of 2020 so far, and made some predictions for what would happen next. At that stage, there were still several big movies lined up for theatrical releases in the final three months of the year. Ultimately, none of these arrived as expected--Wonder Woman 1984 debuted on HBO Max at the same time as the theaters that managed to remain open at Christmas, while Soul was sent straight to streaming. Free Guy was pushed deep into 2021, and Coming 2 America was sold off to Amazon and released months later. With no vaccine at that point and a second (or third) wave of COVID-19 about to hit many countries, the future seemed as unpredictable as at any stage of the pandemic. In early December, Warner drew a line in the sand with the shock announcement that it would send every single movie on its 2021 slate to HBO Max on the same day they hit theaters. This wasn't just the films expected in the coming few months, such as Wonder Woman 1984, Godzilla vs. Kong, and Mortal Kombat. It was also hugely anticipated movies that weren't due until the end of 2021--such as Dune and The Matrix Resurrections--when the world might conceivably be a very different place.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Now that the Halo Infinite multiplayer beta has gone live, players are tinkering around with it and making all manner of fun discoveries, and this includes what looks like the return of a popular exploit. Players have discovered that the BXB/BXR trick, which lets you perform melee attacks in quick succession, appears to be supported in Halo Infinite.A clip posted on Reddit shows this off in action. It looks very extreme, and the audio really amplifies the intensity of the exploit. The author of the post, CraftZ49, believes this will be patched out before launch, but it doesn't appear that 343 has yet to address this. The fact that this is only being discovered now, during the second Halo Infinite beta, suggests that this was not possible in the first test back in July. These types of exploits were featured in previous Halo games, including Halo 2 most prominently. It was never patched out of the game, and it became a popular tactic among groups of users. Eating Doritos could be your ticket to getting double XP in Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Vanguard. Specially marked bags of Doritos are now appearing at retailers in the US, it seems, offering "dual XP" for both Warzone and Vanguard. The packaging states that purchasers get double XP and double weapon XP in both games, which share progression.Presumably the double XP only applies for a set period of time, but we don't know the specifics at this stage. You can see what the special Doritos bags look like in the image below, as shared by Twitter user @Aeroenex6793 (via CharlieIntel), who apparently snapped the photo at a Walmart on the east coast of the US.@CallofDuty #Vanguard 2xp codes found in USA Walmarts on east coast #CallOfDuty @charlieINTEL @TheMW2Ghost pic.twitter.com/6grxnsocFB — Aeroenex (@Aeroenex6793) September 24, 2021That such a promotion would exist is no big surprise, as Call of Duty has for years partnered with food and snack brands to offer double XP in this manner. It's not just Call of Duty, either, as Microsoft has a Halo Infinite deal with Kellogg's to give out double XP when you buy Pringles and Pop-Tarts.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Disney's Marvel unit has filed five lawsuits in hopes of retaining full control and ownership of Avengers characters including Iron Man, Spider-Man, Dr. Strange, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Falcon, Thor, and others. News of these filings was first reported by The New York Times. The litigation is a counter move after heirs of several Marvel authors filed dozens of termination notices with the U.S. Copyright Office, seeking to end Marvel's licenses to the characters. However, Marvel argues that the characters were created under "work for hire" arrangements, meaning that the heirs would have no valid claim to the copyrights. In the filing, Marvel draws a parallel to a case involving Jack Kirby, who co-created The X-Men, Thor, and Iron Man. Kirby's heirs similarly sought to reclaim copyright to his creations, but the federal courts sided with Marvel, finding that the characters were created under work-for-hire arrangements. Marvel's lawyers, led by Daniel Petrocelli, say these cases present "virtually identical circumstances."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Similar to Corrupt Taro, Corrupt Woodsmith is a test of the abilities and strategies you've developed up to this point in Kena: Bridge of Spirits. In Taro's case, that mostly has to do with the Spirit Bow, as most of the ways to weaken him and make the fight easier are related to sniping parts of his body. Similarly, Woodsmith is all about your recently acquired Spirit Bombs--this fight requires you to regularly use Kena's bomb abilities, so having a good grasp of how they work is vital for overcoming this fight. In the following guide, we go over how to best handle the Woodsmith and her fiery attacks. More so than the Taro boss fight, this battle will test you on your ability to keep track of your surroundings. Always keep in mind where the Woodsmith is, as well as where the two healing flowers are in relation to you. Turning your back on the Woodsmith to run away and heal can result in some easily avoidable deaths--this boss behaves differently depending on how far away you are from her and turning your back to run away means you'll have a hard time responding to her long-range attacks. Keep your eyes on Woodsmith so you can keep track of her tells.More Kena: Bridge Of Spirits Guides:Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Just about every week brings something new to Destiny 2, whether it's story beats, new activities, or interesting new combinations of elements that let players devastate each other in the Crucible. Iron Banter is our weekly look at what's going on in the world of Destiny and a rundown of what's drawing our attention across the solar system.Bungie rolled out even more Trials of Osiris changes this week, and while I know we've been talking about this a lot, the alterations to the mode continue to sound really excellent. I've spent a little time in the mode again this weekend and remain excited for the adjustments, which is a really nice feeling to have after spending the last year getting amped to try a Trials run and then getting demoralized over the course of a couple hours and some rough losses.Trials isn't the only thing going on this week, though. The Shattered Realm has quickly become one of my favorite things in Destiny 2 right now, and the last couple iterations of the mode have done some really cool things with story. Here we go.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
