Following her Best Actress nomination for Promising Young Woman, it's now been reported that Carey Mulligan will appear in the next movie from Adam Sandler for Netflix.Deadline reports that Mulligan will star in the Sandler movie Spaceman, which tells the story of an astronaut (Sandler) who goes deep into space to collect very old dust. "He soon finds his earthly life falling to pieces, and he turns to the only voice who can help him try to put it back together. It just so happens to belong to a creature from the beginning of time lurking in the shadows of his ship," reads a line from its description.According to the report, Mulligan will play the astronaut's wife. In May, Hulu is offering up plenty of reasons to stay at home with fresh content arriving throughout the month. This includes new movies, series, and classic catalog titles.Starting with the original content, May 7 will see the return of the comedy series Shrill for its third and final season. Starring Saturday Night Live's Aidy Bryant as Annie, the show--which is based on Lindy West's 2016 memoir of the same name--has steadily been a quiet, but sharp and funny show about "an overweight woman who wants to change her life--but not her body." Call of Duty's long-teased Warzone event may finally come to fruition on April 21, with a nuke threat that might bring an end to the map of Verdansk as we know it. A fresh battleground would definitely spice things up, but I think Warzone needs more than just a different map.Originally, the rumor mill was brewing with talks of Warzone getting a completely new, Cold War-themed map based in the Ural Mountains. Now, leaks and teases have surfaced to show Warzone is likely getting a 1980s-themed reskin for Verdansk. Regardless of whether we time travel back to the '80s or get surprised with a completely new map, there are some ways to improve the quality of life for Warzone.For being such a huge contender in the battle royale space, Warzone can oftentimes feel very stale. Personally, I expected more drastic changes to be implemented with Black Ops: Cold War's integration, but we mostly just got the Cold War weapon pool added into the mix. Manticore Games has just launched Core, a new sandbox game powered by user-generated content, allowing players to explore a multiverse full of different activities and stories to uncover. In 2020, Core launched in open alpha for PC players, allowing them to dive into the game's many portals. More chances to demo Resident Evil Village are on the way, and if you're a PlayStation 4 or PS5 owner, you're going to get access to them earlier than everyone else. Capcom will soon let you check out two new areas from Resident Evil Village, the titular Village section and the Castle section, across two separate 30-minute demos. Players on other platforms will eventually get access to those demos as well, but after a bit of a wait.Capcom released a new trailer and outlined the demos during its 25th Anniversary Resident Evil Showcase presentation, which gave a bunch of new details about Resident Evil Village and other projects for the franchise. The two demos Capcom mentioned will be released during the three weeks leading up to Resident Evil Village's launch on May 7, but they'll be available during some very specific windows.The PlayStation releases of the two demos are being called 8 Hours in the Village (get it, because it's Resident Evil 8). On Saturday, April 17, PlayStation owners can access the Village demo. You have an eight-hour window to play 30 minutes of the Village section, and there are no restrictions on streaming. And then on April 24--one week later--PlayStation owners get another eight-hour window, this time to play the Castle demo, for another 30-minute look at the game. But while the gist of the mode retains its similarities to what we've seen of The Mercenaries in the past--it's a fast-paced game type that focuses on killing enemies as quickly as you can to advance--the mode is getting a few new elements in Resident Evil Village that will change how it plays in some significant ways.Capcom announced the return of the mode in its 25th Anniversary Resident Evil Showcase presentation, where it showed off some of the gameplay we can expect when it launches with Resident Evil Village on May 7. The mode makes changes to what we've seen from The Mercenaries in the past, adopting the first-person perspective of Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 7 (as opposed to the past third-person perspective) and gives you the ability to buy different guns, ammo, and weapons upgrades in between levels. It also adds new abilities you can grab around the map that give you perks and change how you play, providing bonuses like faster sprint speed, higher resilience to incoming damage, and the ability to dish out more punishment from your weapons.At first blush, it looks a lot like the Resident Evil 4 take on the mode--you run around an arena modeled on one of the locations from the game (like the titular Village), taking down waves of various enemies who spawn around you. The whole thing is timed, so you're encouraged to knock out baddies as quickly as you can, and you get more time on the clock when you pick up specific items around the map. Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield are getting a new story in Netflix's animated series, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, and now we know when you can expect to watch it: July 2021. We also know a little more about the story the series will cover and how it fits into the greater Resident Evil timeline.Capcom released new info about Infinite Darkness during its latest Resident Evil Showcase, where it showed a new trailer from the series and narrowed down its release window. The previous teaser for Infinite Darkness indicated that it's a story that'll feature both Resident Evil 2 protagonists, Leon and Claire, as well as more than a few zombies. During the showcase, we found out that the story will take place, at least in part, at the White House--and will feature a zombie outbreak in the highest halls of the US government.Infinite Darkness takes place two years after the events of Resident Evil 4. In that game, Leon, working as a Secret Service agent, ventured to an Eastern European village in search of Ashley Graham, the US president's daughter. Gabriel Luna has been cast to play Tommy in HBO Max's upcoming The Last of Us television series, according to Deadline. Luna will be a lead in The Last of Us alongside Pedro Pascal (who's playing Joel) and Bella Ramsey (who's playing Ellie).Luna is best known for his portrayal of Robbie Reyes, aka Ghost Rider, in Marvel's Agents of SHIELD. He has also played Gabriel/REV-9 in Terminator: Dark Fate and the recurring role of Miguel Gilb in True Detective.Based on the game of the same name, The Last of Us takes place in a world 20 years after a virus has caused the collapse of modern civilization. Resident Evil 4 is coming back--but not the way you might have expected. The classic third-person action game is getting reworked for virtual reality, coming in as a first-person shooter for the Oculus Quest 2 VR headset.Capcom announced the new version of RE4 at its 25th Anniversary Resident Evil Showcase, where it gave a look at the gameplay we can expect when RE4 jumps to virtual reality. Where the original game was played from a third-person perspective, you'll take on the role of Leon in first-person, using the Quest 2's motion controls to do things like pick up and manipulate objects, aim and fire your gun, and slice through enemies with your combat knife.For the most part, the game looks pretty much the same--expect to fight through waves of its weapon-wielding Los Ganados enemies.
