Netflix continues to see success in 2021 as the company has hit 208 million subscribers (which it rounded up from 207,640,000) according to a recent press release. And Netflix plans on spending a lot of money on new content for all of 2021, $17 billion to be exact.Since the coronavirus pandemic began, Netflix saw 25 million more paid subscribers sign up. This 13.6% year-over-year growth has been huge for Netflix, with revenue hitting a little over $7 billion in the first quarter of 2021. While Q1 saw a boost in subscribers and profits for the company, Q2 forecasts project a little bit of a plateau compared to previous quarters. Netflix is projecting that there will be 208.6 million subscribers, only adding a million paid subscribers in the upcoming few months.Regardless of current projections, Netflix will be spending a lot of money on content, as many COVID-19 production delays from 2020 lead into 2021. Aside from Brazil and India, production around the world has restarted on Netflix movies and TV shows. There will be more Netflix originals this year than in the last, which--as previously mentioned--will cost the company $17 billion.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The Xbox Store has two new sales running this week on Xbox Series X and Xbox One, and they're not for the faint of heart. Both the Un-Halloween Horror Sale and the Resident Evil Franchise Sale are live now, and they end April 26.The Un-Halloween Horror Sale features steep discounts on a variety of horror-themed games, including 7 Days to Die, Killing Floor 2, and Dead By Daylight. The Amnesia Collection is also quite cheap at $6.The Xbox Store's Resident Evil Franchise Sale offers some of the best games in the series at very reasonable prices. The Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 2 remakes are both less than $20, and Resident Evil 4 and 6 are both $8. Earlier today, Entertainment Weekly gave fans a first look at the Harry Potter store coming to New York City on June 3.. The store, seemingly called The Harry Potter Shop, is set to house the largest collection of Harry Potter merchandise there is, much of which will be unavailable anywhere else. In the exclusive EW interview, vice president and general manager of Warner Bros. Retail Destinations Karl Durrant said the store is "looking forward to bringing some magic back into people's lives."The magic of #HarryPotter is coming to New York City! https://t.co/NlQbvn3qGj — Entertainment Weekly (@EW) April 20, 2021Located near the Flatiron Building at 935 Broadway, the three-story shop boasts a whopping 21,000 square feet and contains "15 different theme areas with magical elements." One of these is areas is an interactive wand table, where customers can take their wands on a "test run." The store will also offer fans an area to have their wands personalized, making it the only place outside of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (located within Universal Studios Orlando) to do so.In addition to shopping, The Harry Potter shop aims to offer Harry Potter fans unique experiences. According to Durrant, two virtual reality experiences are coming to the store: 'Chaos at Hogwarts' and 'Wizards Take Flight.' While the finer details about 'Chaos at Hogwarts' have yet to be revealed, 'Wizards Take Flight' allows players to take control of their very own broomstick and fly above the River Thames in London. Durrant has also stated that due to Warner Bros. being in a "uniquely privileged position to work directly with the [Harry Potter] filmmakers," the store will house authentic props and recreations of items from the Harry Potter films. These props include Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Dumbledore's wands, the original golden snitch, Harry's broomstick, Tom Riddle's Diary, and more.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

MLB The Show 21 has made headlines this year for what it's done off the field of play. In an unprecedented move, the Sony-developed title is now available on Microsoft consoles, signalling the end of 15 years of PlayStation exclusivity. It's a monumental shift for a series that's also making its debut on next-gen consoles, and MLB The Show 21 maintains the series' high bar of excellence once the ball's in play. Away from the diamond, however, there are a number of missing features and questionable decisions that take some of the shine off an otherwise fantastic game of baseball. The card collecting mode, Diamond Dynasty, is the basis for most of these dubious decisions, particularly in regards to Road to the Show (RttS). MLB The Show 21's career mode still revolves around the core idea of creating a player and taking them from the minor leagues through to the majors, but the structure of the mode has been significantly reworked. Your created Ballplayer is now a single unified entity that functions much like the NBA 2K series' MyPlayer. This Ballplayer, with all the improvements you make to their attributes, also carries over into Diamond Dynasty, where they can be inserted into the starting lineup alongside current players and legends of the sport. It's a solid idea on paper, but the execution severely hampers RttS in a few major areas. For one, having a single Ballplayer limits your options since you're unable to create more than one distinct character. You can still create multiple saves to make characters who play in different positions, but you're stuck using the exact same player in each. On top of this, there's also a new loadout system that allows you to create multiple custom loadouts. Each one features one main archetype and up to two perks that improve certain attributes while slightly decreasing others. This change appears to be geared towards another new addition, which gives you the option to play as a two-way player similar to Shohei Ohtani. For games when you're hitting and playing the field, you might select a loadout with perks based around improving your contact, power, and arm accuracy; on days when you're pitching, you might opt for another loadout with pitching-centric perks.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Ahead of that, a new update for the battle royale game has landed, making a series of changes for the game in what could be the last week of the current map.One of the biggest changes in the new update is that the RC-XD has been removed from Buy Stations; it can now only be found through Containment Monitors. Actor and writer-director John Cameron Mitchell has been cast in the title role of NBC's upcoming Joe Exotic series, according to Entertainment Weekly. Mitchell first came to mainstream prominence on the strength of his 2001 feature-length rock musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and has since been steadily proven himself capable of poignant turns as a director (GLOW) and a performer playing unhinged but principled jerks (Shrill, The Good Fight)--so there will likely be a lot of humanity, commitment, and strangeness he'll bring to the role. The NBC series was first announced last year, on the heels of the runaway popularity of Netflix's Tiger King--also likely widely remembered as one of the first things people binged while in quarantine. Saturday Night Live's Kate McKinnon was previously announced for this adaptation, in the Carole Baskin role, and the pair's chemistry, respectively, as the infamous Oklahoma zoo owner and the self-described conservationist who exposed him, should be pretty fun to watch."I'm thrilled to take on the role of this modern folk antihero," said Mitchell in a statement. "Joe and I are the same age, and like him, I grew up queer in Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas, so I feel like I know a little bit about this guy and his desperate attempt to conquer an inhospitable world."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Godzilla vs. Kong has stayed top of the US box office for the third week running. The big budget monster showdown added another $7.7 million to its domestic total, bringing it to $80.5 million. Worldwide, it has now made $390.2 million, overtaking Tenet to become the most successful movie of the past 12 months.Of course, the film didn't exactly have much competition in terms of new releases. The Top 5 remained much the same as last week, with the action comedy Nobody, horror movie The Unholy, and Disney's Raya the Last Dragon occupying the next three spaces. The only change was Tom and Jerry and the sci-fi drama Voyagers exchanging places at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively. The only new entry in the chart was In the Earth at No. 7. The low budget British horror movie is directed by Kill List's Ben Wheatley, and it made $506,000 from 547 screens. The rest of the Top 10 consisted of the thriller The Courier, the family movie The Girl Who Believes in Miracles, and animated sequel The Croods: A New Age.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
