With just weeks to go before May 4 (AKA Star Wars Day), Lego has unveiled a new R2-D2 set with a staggering amount of detail. This is Lego's most elaborate build of the iconic droid yet. It'll be available for purchase exclusively at the Lego Store on May 1. Lego Store exclusives, especially the really cool builds like this, tend to sell out quickly, so you'll probably want to act fast if you're interested in building and displaying R2-D2 on your shelf. Lego R2-D2 $200 Lego R2-D2 is quite pricey at $200, but it's one of Lego's more in-depth Star Wars builds. The 2,314-piece set stands at just over a foot tall when built. Aiming for authenticity, Lego has included some neat features with this build. You can rotate R2-D2's head and retract his middle leg. It also has a front hatch that opens and extends as well as a movable periscope. As an added bonus, Luke Skywalker's lightsaber is tucked inside R2-D2's head for safe storage. See at Lego Store As with all major Lego sets, R2-D2 comes with a commemorative plaque with facts about the droid. This plaque is more special than usual, though, as it highlights the 50th anniversary of Lucasfilm and includes a small R2-D2 figure that sits on top of the plaque.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Looks like Apex Legends is getting a major brand-new mode, something akin to Fortnite adopting a battle royale mode--a move that transformed the game forever. It most likely has to do with the Arena teaser that you can discover in Apex Legends right now, and we'll seemingly learn more via the Apex Legends Legacy launch trailer that debuts tomorrow, April 22."Few game devs recognized this lesson from Fortnite: You can delight players and drive massive growth for a game by adding a new / different genre as a 'mode' and supporting it as a full game," Respawn director of communication Ryan K. Rigney tweeted. "League of Legends did it with [Teamfight Tactics]."Rigney then says that the Apex Legends Legacy launch trailer is coming out tomorrow, though he adds it's "unrelated" to the vague observation he made about games being able to transform for the better by adopting new genres as game modes. Sure it isn't, Rigney. Sure it isn't.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

It's already been well-documented that production has officially begun on the movie Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in British Columbia and Fort Langley, and eagle-eyed fans have recently been taking and publishing photos and videos that potentially provide some of the first solid information about the film. At the end of the first movie's teaser, it was revealed that Tails would be in the next film--but one fan's photos show props of Sonic, Tails, and also Knuckles (who hadn't yet been announced).Additionally, another video has been released online by a fan seemingly showing Jim Carrey attached to a crane, apparently reprising his role as Doctor "Eggman" Robotnik. This footage, presented as-is, doesn't make for the most thrilling insights into the film (the video is filmed from a great distance), but both serve as solid confirmations of what characters will be in the film. Check out the fan footage below, and note that the stationary props will later be replaced by CGI characters--these are there for their human actor counterparts to have a reference when performing.BROO!! THEY LOOK SO GOOOOD!!!! pic.twitter.com/2BOU6XszP3 — Sain Blur (@blur_sain) April 20, 2021The first Sonic movie, released in 2020, proved a resounding success despite a bumpy start in 2019 with a polarizing first trailer that ultimately forced Sonic to be redesigned. The film went on to make $148.9 million in the US and to become the highest-grossing game adaptation ever in the country, overtaking Detective Pikachu. Globally, however, Sonic made $319.7 million, which lags behind Detective Pikachu ($433 million) and Warcraft ($439 million).Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
