Destiny 2's upcoming transmogrification system will have elements you can earn for free or pay for with premium currency, but limitations on what you can get in-game already have some players upset. As a few have already pointed out on Twitter and Reddit, the limitations on currency you can earn in-game for free means that converting your stock of armor into "ornaments" that can be applied to other armor--Bungie's new transmogrification system--will take years.The details were included in the latest This Week at Bungie blog post, which filled in gaps on the transmogrification system that Bungie has been talking about for a while now. The system allows you to convert any piece of armor you have into a "universal ornament," which you can then equip to other armor to change its appearance. Essentially, if you like the look of one armor piece but not its stats, you can change it into a cosmetic ornament. Other MMOs have similar systems and allow players a greater degree of customization for their appearances, and Destiny 2 fans have been excited to see transmog come to the game.How Transmog Will WorkWhat's creating controversy is how the system will work. Bungie is instituting some new currencies for the transmogrification system: Synthstrands, Synthcords, and Synthweaves. You'll earn Synthstrands from playing the game and killing enemies, and when you have enough, you can purchase special bounties from Ada-1 in the Tower. Complete those bounties by playing different activities to earn Synthcords. You can then convert Synthcords into Synthweaves at a new kiosk, the Loom, in the Tower. Spending a Synthweave allows you to change an individual piece of armor into an ornament. During an appearance on JOY Breakfast with The Murphys, Russell Crowe announced he'll be playing Zeus in Thor: Love and Thunder, and that he's wrapping up shooting.Crowe was revealed to be taking part in Taika Waititi's Thor movie back in March, but until now, it was unknown who he was playing. During the interview on JOY Breakfast with The Murphys, Crowe closed out by mentioning he's going to ride his bike to the Disney Fox Studios and get into costume to become Zeus. Developer Raven Software has confirmed that a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S version of Call of Duty: Warzone is in the works, according to CharlieIntel.A release date for this enhanced version of the battle royale was not announced. Creative director Amos Hodge said a "dedicated technology team" within Raven is working to upgrade Warzone's engine and technology. This will give the game access to both consoles' more advanced hardware to achieve features like 120Hz support, faster load times, and other SSD enhancements. Up until now, the only Monster Hunter Rise collectibles you could get your hands on have been the three Amiibo figures that released alongside the game, but that's going to change over the next few months. Capcom is releasing a slew of adorable Monster Hunter plush toys this year. The plushies retail for $35 each and are available for preorder now on Amazon.There will be 10 plushies in total, each a chibi version of a creature you encounter in the game. In addition to the Cohoot and Spiribird, there are plushies of some of the new monsters that Rise introduced to the series, including the Almudron, Bishaten, Goss Harag, and our personal favorite, the Tetranadon. You can take a look at all of the plushies below.According to Amazon, the Monster Hunter Rise plushies are slated to release in batches over the next few months, so they won't all be available at once. Each one also measures about 7.8 inches long, making them the perfect cuddly size. Following the passage of Texas Senate Bill 29, which requires public school students to take part in athletic competitions based on their assigned gender at birth, a coalition of Texas businesses have joined forces to oppose the open discrimination of transgender youth. Among these businesses are Amazon, Dell, HP, IBM, Microsoft, PayPal, and Gearbox Software, the studio behind the Borderlands series. According to David Najjab, director of institutional partnerships at Gearbox Software, the company is considering shifting production away from Texas if the state continues to pursue anti-trans legislation.The news was first reported by NBCDFW, a local television station in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. In its report, the station provided a copy of the business group's open letter to state legislators, which states the current legislation "would send a message that is at odds with the Texas we know, and with our own efforts to attract and retain the best talent and to compete for business." Reviews for Mortal Kombat are now out in the wild just hours ahead of the movie's simultaneous release in theaters and on HBO Max on April 23, 2021. Marvel has a long, interesting relationship with Japan and Japanese fans, and now it's time for Japanese creators to show us western Marvel fans what superheroes look like to them. Marvel has teamed up with manga and anime publisher VIZ to release some of the best Marvel stories created by Japanese manga writers and artists.Marvel's first collaboration with VIZ will be Nao Fuji's Marvel Meow, set to release on October 12, 2021. If Nier: Automata was about discovering your humanity in a world devoid of life, Nier Replicant is about a world desperately fighting to preserve what humanity it has left, and often failing to do so. There's an ever-present melancholy that hangs over the violent world of Nier, and the more you fight on, the more you understand just how tragic human life can be. It's tempting to wallow in sorrow, but once you've seen Nier Replicant's conclusions in their entirety, you'll come to cherish its moments of warmth as well.For better or worse, Nier Replicant preserves much of the original experience from its 2010 release (based on the Japanese version with the brother protagonist as opposed to the Western release's father lead). The story, characters, scenarios, and structure remain intact, and this remaster includes some significant gameplay and visual improvements in addition to an essential piece of new story content that expands the original narrative. This is an action-RPG with slick combat, reminiscent of Automata, but suffers from the antiquated design philosophies it adheres to. However, Nier Replicant is here to make you feel something, and it does so in a fashion very few games can pull off.Series creator Yoko Taro has a penchant for toying with player expectations, saying just enough to lead you on before hitting you with wild revelations that leave you sinking in your seat. It was Nier's strongest suit back in the day, and still is with this remaster. The game starts off in a modern-day Tokyo that's been destroyed and invaded by ethereal creatures called Shades, then thrusts you over 1,000 years into a future medieval civilization that's barely scraping by. Both the protagonist and his sister Yonah are almost exactly as they were in that mysterious intro, seemingly unchanged by the passage of time. There's no shortage of games set in the universe of popular tabletop role-playing game Warhammer 40,000, but Necromunda: Hired Gun is the first entry in that series to feature a cyber-mastiff as a companion. Developed by Streum On Studio, Necromunda: Hired Gun looks far quicker and more brutal in action than the French studio's previous Warhammer 40K game, Space Hulk: Deathwing. The studio explained in a PlayStation blog post that the emphasis on wall-running and double-jumping was all in pursuit of a more fun gameplay experience as players complete bounties. Augmented with a range of cybernetics, your bounty hunter is faster and more agile in combat but is always outnumbered by the sheer volume of enemies in every level. Rocky star Sylvester Stallone has announced that his new cut of Rocky IV has been retitled. The movie will be released as Rocky Vs. Drago--The Ultimate Director's Cut.Stallone confirmed the new title on Instagram and revealed that the movie will be accompanied by a feature-length behind-the-scenes documentary titled Keep Punching: The Present Meets the Past, which documents the process of reworking the original movie.The star also posted a trailer for the documentary. It shows Stallone working in a "basically empty" post-production facility alongside an editor on the new version of Rocky IV.
