The video game movie made $22.5 million in the US for its opening weekend to stand as the No. 1 movie domestically this weekend.Coming in at No. 2 was the anime movie Demon Slayer ($19.5 million). In total for all movies, the US box office generated $52.9 million this weekend, which is the biggest single-weekend result since mid-March 2020 when the pandemic was kicking off.Mortal Kombat also now owns the record for biggest R-rated movie release during the pandemic. But it's not all prep work, as the patch will also add a handful of new skills, some significant bug fixes, and more. The patch will be available on all platforms tomorrow, April 27, at 5 AM PT / 8 AM ET. Perhaps the most notable new additions will be a set of three of new skills you can use in your upgrade tree. Each of them are focused on letting you ignore hits while performing certain actions, and they'll refresh on a timer after a few seconds. Cold Rage lets you ignore hit interruptions with successive regular melee attacks. Eye of the North prevents flinching from hits while aiming with your bow. And Intense Rage lets you ignore interruptions while using your off-hand parry or special attack. The update will also add the ability to toggle the cinematic camera during finisher moves, applies Bayek and Altair's outfit to the transmog system, and fixes some bugs around the Brewing Storm mission. A devoted Valheim fan has recreated the wizarding school Hogwarts from the world of Harry Potter in the popular survival game. As you can see from the below link, the Valheim version of the famous school is still under construction, but architect Zabore has managed to build their own version of several of Hogwarts' most famous landmarks, including the Great Hall, a Quidditch field, and Hagrid's hut.Zabore said in the Reddit thread that they'd like to do more with the Forbidden Forest area of the map in the future. The whole build was apparently inspired by other ambitious Valheim builds, including the Roman Colosseum and Notre Dame. The author also said that they built Hogwarts in debug mode because they don't have time to farm, which honestly makes a lot of sense. Valheim's upcoming Hearth and Home expansion will improve the game's base-building elements considerably, so we'll have to see what these building wizards can do with it once it lands. The first Dying Light 2 AMA from developer Techland has led to answers to some big questions about the upcoming zombie-parkour hybrid. The AMA, led by Dying Light 2 lead game designer Tymon Smektała, touched on multiple subjects including handmade weapons, the game's new volatiles, and the importance of different decisions players would make. Unlike the first entry in the franchise, Dying Light 2 will largely exclude firearms from player's arsenals. Late in Dying Light 1, players could find guns like pistols and rifles across the game's city. However, the sequel will change that radically. "So… There are no firearms in the world of Dying Light 2," Smektała said. "Why? Because it's a world war, the civilization is destroyed. It's gone, so actually no one is able to create like… professional firearms."Even though players won't have access to M16s or Colt 45s, guns will still be present in the game. Players will be able to make their own eventually, with Smektała offering the example of a handmade shotgun. This weapon would be crafted with scavenged parts and go into the player's left hand, allowing them to use a melee weapon at the same time. However, since it's a handmade weapon, these shotguns would break very easily. Although he's perhaps best remembered for being Nintendo's affable president until his untimely passing in 2015, the late Satoru Iwata began his career as a highly regarded programmer. However, perhaps no series benefited more from Iwata's touch than Pokemon, and he was particularly instrumental in shaping one of the franchise's most beloved off-shoots, Nintendo 64's Pokemon Snap.At the time of its release, Pokemon Snap was one of the first games spun off from the breakout monster-catching series, but it was not initially envisioned as a Pokemon title.
