When The Falcon and the Winter Soldier ended with Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) donning a new suit and taking on the mantle of Captain America, fans weren't sure how the story would continue. Now, though, it's been reported that Falcon and Winter Soldier head writer Malcolm Spellman will be tackling the next Captain America movie. And as far as he's concerned, the story of Sam's struggle as a Black man carrying the shield can't be over yet."I think these are the conversations that are inherently embodied in these characters," he said to GameSpot. "All of them embody deeper conversations that are happening in our living rooms and I think we would have been sugarcoating s*** if we had just said, 'Hey man, I did it, you know? I beat racism because I'm Captain America.' There's no point in telling stories if you're not going to use them to tell bigger stories."An important piece of that was the introduction of Isaiah Bradley (Carl Lumbly), a retired Black soldier who was part of the supersoldier program and ultimately imprisoned and experimented on by HYDRA. He rejected the idea of a Black man carrying the shield, let alone wanting to.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Pokemon Go is celebrating the release of New Pokemon Snap with a special event from now until May 2. As part of the event, the Painter Pokemon Smeargle will be photobombing snapshots you take more frequently than usual, and you have your first chance to encounter a Shiny Smeargle in the game. This Shiny variant will only be available during the event, however, so if you're hoping to add it to your collection, here are some tips on how to catch Shiny Smeargle. How To Catch Shiny SmeargleUnlike most other Pokemon in the game, Smeargle can't be encountered as a wild spawn. Rather, the Painter Pokemon will occasionally make a surprise appearance in snapshots you take. If you happen to see Smeargle photobombing one of your pictures, you'll then spot the Pokemon on the map, giving you a chance to capture it.Smeargle and other Pokemon featured during the New Pokemon Snap eventAs part of the New Pokemon Snap event, Smeargle is appearing in snapshots more frequently than usual, so you should have an easier time of encountering one. However, Niantic notes that Smeargle will "only appear in snapshots a limited number of times," so you have a set number of chances to encounter a Shiny variant. Shiny Smeargle will also stop appearing in the game once the New Pokemon Snap event ends, but Niantic teases that it may return again in the future.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Ratchet encounters a resistance group fighting against the Emperor, and as we saw in another recent trailer, meanwhile the new lady lombax Rivet befriends Clank. The studio said it's focusing on increasing Ratchet's mobility, with new tools like wallrunning, a rift tether, and a dash and air-dash. The Vault of Glass raid will hit Destiny 2 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET on Saturday, May 22. The raid, which Bungie has teased since last year, is a revamped version of the first one ever released in the original Destiny. However, its addition to Destiny 2 will likely come some new elements--including the day one "Contest Mode" that has become standard for Destiny 2 raids.Bungie announced the exact release for the Vault of Glass on its This Week at Bungie blog. It also detailed what Power level players can expect to be when they take on the raid on the first day. All encounters in the Vault of Glass will be locked at 1300 Power, so players need to be at least that strong to take on the raid in its first 24 hours. Raising your characters' Power any higher than that, however, won't help you until Contest Mode ends on May 23.If you're not familiar, Contest Mode equalizes the playing field for new raids during their first 24 hours, as players race to be the first in the world to clear the new activity. The mode locks everyone's Power at a certain level--in this case, 1300--so that you don't get an advantage for having more time to play the game than other people. It also means that the difficulty of the raid is the same for everyone for that first day. Once Contest Mode ends, normal level rules apply, so the higher your numbers, the stronger you are.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

In the final episode of Marvel's Falcon and the Winter Soldier, we learned that it was Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) acting as the Power Broker in Madripoor. While that was definitely one ongoing theory among fans throughout the series, it was still a surprise to see the former agent of SHIELD--and close ally of Steve Rogers--had gone rogue. However, it also makes sense given everything she's been through.Following the events of Captain America: Civil War, Sharon was viewed by the government as an enemy--as was a large portion of the Avengers. And while the superhero team wound up regaining their status in the MCU, Sharon wasn't so lucky. It was an easy story to tell for Falcon and the Winter Soldier head writer Malcolm Spellman."It was a conversation with Marvel and it came from us really litigating what Sharon's life has been Since Civil War," he told GameSpot. "And I think there was no way to avoid it, you know? She was banished and an outcast by the government institutions that she's always worked for."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Returnal, the latest PS5 exclusive from arcade shooter experts Housemarque, might seem like a familiar game initially. With its rougelite structure, traditional third-person action, and creepy atmosphere, it's easy to think of comparisons and mashups of existing titles like Hades, Control, and Metroid. Like most rouguelites too, Returnal's fun is found in developing skills through failure, with each run teaching you something new. It can help to go in with a little guidance, especially if you're finding the opening hours particularly challenging. Here are some tips that will help you get up to speed with Returnal's pace, and explain some of its more obscure mechanics to save you some time. For our full thoughts about Returnal, be sure to read our full review. Otherwise, read on and discover our essential tips.Don't Stop MovingHousemarque is departing from its traditional 2D arcade shooter roots with Returnal, but that doesn't mean it hasn't brought with it the same fundamental gameplay pillars. One of those is the bombardment of projectiles and enemies you'll have to deal with, making any time you remain stationary progressively more dangerous. Returnal's combat arenas are designed to feel cramped purposefully, but each one offers nooks and crannies for you to exploit, allowing you to create space and distance from foes. Better yet, consistently moving around forces enemies to break formation and find different ways to get to you, creating better chances for you to pick them off individually.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Returnal is a hard game to pin down. On the one hand, it is very much a pastiche of existing game genres: Play one run and you will see how it very clearly draws elements from roguelikes, Souls-likes, metroidvanias, action-platformers, bullet hell shooters, and horror games. But while it borrows from all those genres, its unique flow ensures that its chaotic shooting galleries and creepy storytelling feel decidedly new. A shifting, but not jarring pace, an unpredictable narrative, tough-as-nails gameplay, and a constant sense of ambient terror--Returnal's many moving parts coalesce into a rare shooter that grabs you with its mechanics and its story and never lets go, seducing you with its challenges and a foreboding sense of dread every step of the way. When you start Returnal, interstellar scout Selene Vassos crash-lands on an alien planet, Atropos, which is broadcasting a mysterious signal. Stranded, Selene makes some startling discoveries on the planet, including the game's titular trait: When she dies, Selene "returns" to the site of the crash, seemingly unharmed. To explain much more would give away too much: You want to know as little about Returnal and its story as you can going in.Yes, "return" is in the name, which is a not-subtle-not to Returnal’s run-based structure. It falls into the broader definition of a roguelite--Selene starts each run from the crash site but holds a few key upgrades and one of two in-game currencies from run to run. Everything else, including her weapon, "artifacts" that provide passive upgrades, and consumables like healing items disappear with each death. Selene wanders through the procedurally arranged and populated landscapes of Atropos hoarding gear, upgrading her health and weapon level (called proficiency), and gunning down the planet's strange-looking, tentacle-wiggling creatures, all of which want you dead.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

You might be relieved to learn Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion isn’t really about avoiding your financial responsibility to society. There’s no book-keeping, no audits, no lurking threat of a visit from the IRS. Instead, the act of tax evasion is a mere prelude, an unlikely catalyst for a rollicking and increasingly silly pastiche of the action/adventure genre.Less concerned with ripping off fellow citizens and more with pilfering tropes from the Legend of Zelda, Turnip Boy is shameless about the source of its obvious inspiration. Within minutes from the start of the game, the village elder has dispatched you on a quest and you’ve retrieved a mystical sword from a sun-dappled forest grove. But it borrows and parodies familiar elements with an affection and exuberance that sweeps you along in a giddy rush for the entirety of its short but sweet duration.Gallery With Turnip Boy’s fiscal failure exposed in the opening scene, the town mayor channels Tom Nook by setting a quest that will allow you to pay off your debt and eventually inherit the family home. His demands are ludicrous from the get-go and seemingly untethered from your ultimate goal. But rather than leaving you annoyed at having to run some pointless errands, each new task only compounds the absurdity in amusing new ways. Really? That’s why you needed a laser pointer? You’ve got to be kidding me.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The Fortnite island used to be home to an active volcano, and some players are wondering if another is soon to emerge from the ocean deep. With the 16.30 update has come a peculiar new landmass just below Flush Factory in the southern part of the map. It has no name and is mostly featureless, save for a few spots where loot may appear in any given round, but it does consist of one other quality that has players theory-crafting: It's rather steamy.Seeming to appear from the deep waters, this smallish body of land is always emitting steam, as though things are heating up in this region. Players are trying to connect dots, and they may be right to do so. Rarely in Fortnite is anything a coincidence or done without much thought toward Epic's mysterious but everpresent lore bible.Players are curious about this steamy new southern island."I honestly thought that the ice age would be next but then i realized there was a s*** ton of Pangea and tectonic movement and volcanic activity before the actual ice age took place," speculated one player on Reddit. "The prehistoric age was very tropical and we could be seeing this next season and then a meteor wipes everything out causing the ice age for season 8."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

In a new interview, Entourage creator Doug Ellin says he feels HBO has given the series the cold shoulder since it ended in 2011. Speaking with Yahoo Entertainment, the screenwriter and director says that despite an eight-season run, high ratings, and many award nominations, he thinks HBO has unfairly distanced itself from the show--which has only served to hurt his career.Blaming a "wave of righteous PC culture," Ellin says that he doesn't view Entourage as "high art, but it was a pretty accurate portrayal of how people [acted] at that time in Hollywood." The realities of Hollywood then, Ellin explains, were exactly what Entourage set out to reflect--which he now feels the show has unfairly gotten a reputation of celebrating."I don't think Entourage was this vulgar boyfest that people like to paint it as now," said Ellin. "When we came out, the New York Times said we were the smartest show on television!"Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
