Respawn has released the trailer for the Apex Legends Season 9: Legacy battle pass. This time around, the battle pass includes Legendary skins for Wraith, Rampart, and the Devotion. I'm a bit miffed that Wraith is getting yet another battle pass Legendary skin.Overall, I think Respawn does a good job of balancing new Legendary skins for all of Apex Legends' characters, with the oldest characters obviously having the most skins because they've just been in the game the longest. In terms of leading the pack, at the start of Legacy, Wraith will have 23 Legendary skins, followed by Pathfinder at 21, Bloodhound at 19, and Bangalore, Octane, Caustic, and Lifeline at 18.But there's a clear disparity when you look at where the Legendary skins are coming from. With Legacy, Wraith has four Legendary skins that could be unlocked by earning battle pass levels (Season 1's Night Terror, Season 4's Perfect Soldier, Season 7's High Class, and Season 9's Demon's Whisper). In comparison, Bangalore, Octane, Lifeline, and Pathfinder have two, and Mirage, Caustic, Wattson, Rampart, and Bloodhound only have one. The remaining seven legends still sit at zero Legendary battle pass skins.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Xerneas is making its Pokemon Go debut starting May 4. The Legendary Life Pokemon will appear in five-star Raids throughout the Luminous Legends X event, marking your first chance to catch it in Niantic's mobile game. If you need help adding it to your collection, here are some tips on how to beat and catch Xerneas.Xerneas Weaknesses And CountersXerneas is a pure Fairy type, making it the first Legendary Pokemon of its kind in the series. This typing gives Xerneas two primary weaknesses, Poison and Steel, so your best bet is to use Pokemon of those types when battling it in Raids. Here are some recommended Pokemon of each type:Poison: Mega Gengar, Mega Beedrill, Mega Venusaur, Roserade, VileplumeSteel: Metagross, Lucario, Heatran, Empoleon, ExcadrillWhile any of those Pokemon will be helpful when battling Xerneas, especially if they know Fast and Charged Attacks of their respective type, Heatran in particular is a good choice to bring along if you have one. Since both of its types (Fire and Steel) resist Fairy-type attacks, Heatran will last longer in battle against Xerneas than most other monsters, and it can hit the Legendary back with super-effective damage.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

A series of emails exchanged between Epic Games and Sony in 2018 have offered a look at the latter's hesitation to allow cross-play between PlayStation and other platforms, even for a massive game such as Fortnite. The emails were shared by The Verge, having surfaced as part of the just-begun Epic v. Apple trial. The emails show an exchange between former SIE senior director Gio Corsi and Epic Games vice president of business development Joe Kreiner. In Kreiner's email, he suggested Epic can get whatever it wants after "Fortnite became the biggest game on PlayStation." As such, Kreiner made some proposals to entice Sony."We announce cross-play in conjunction with Sony," Kreiner said. "Epic goes out of its way to make Sony look like heroes. You get to pick the when/where/how."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

As part of the Epic vs. Apple court case, documents have been unsealed that might contain clues about what's coming to Fortnite in the future, and this includes lots of new skins. The new document, uploaded by The Verge, shows that a number real and fictional characters could get skins for Fortnite in the future, including Samus Aran from Nintendo's Metroid series, as well as Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games (which itself is a franchise about real-life battle royale to the death), The Bride from Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill series, and John McClane from Die Hard, among others. You can see a list of these people and characters below, but bear in mind this information stems from a document that was presumably not intended to be made public, so some or all of the information might be outdated or inaccurate. With that caveat out of the way, these are the real people and fictional characters mentioned in the document that could get skins:Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Rainbow Six Siege's Y6S1.3 patch is live on all platforms, and the update brings some small but significant changes to the game. The patch's largest changes are focused at Tachanka, and they buff his Shumikha Launcher in almost every possible way, including increased magazine capacity, increased explosion radius, and decreased detonation time.Jackal and Jager both receive minor nerfs, with the C7E and the 416-C weapons holding a few less bullets in their magazine than before. Ace and Thermite get slight kit changes, with the former's smoke grenades replaced with claymore mines, and the latter's claymore changed to smoke grenades. The patch also removes the Tactical Realism playlist type from the game entirely. Similar to Call of Duty's Hardcore modes, Tactical Realism removed much of the game's HUD and disabled enemy marking. The style has been replaced with an "interface preferences" option that allows players to enable and disable HUD parameters as they desire. The patch also changes how ranked match cancellation works. Now, players can only cancel a match during the prep phase of the first round, with abstentions counting as no votes. Ties will result in a cancelled game.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

It's a new week, and that means Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is getting new playlists, store bundles, and more. Perhaps the most notable new addition this week is a brand-new tactical rifle that certainly looks unique. Activision ran through all the new new content, some of which is also available in Warzone, in a blog post, and we're highlighting the key points here.New Weapon: CARV.2The CARV.2 Tactical Rifle is coming to Black Ops Cold War and Warzone this week. To unlock it, you'll need to complete a new in-game challenge, though Activision did not provide any information on what that will entail. Alternatively, players can buy it outright through the "Plastik Prototype" DLC bundle."This burst-fire weapon stands out in the tactical rifle class with its high bullet velocity output, offering powerful damage, solid recoil control, and a large ammo pool from the start," Activision said in its description.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

PowerA is ridiculously prolific when it comes to officially licensed Nintendo Switch controllers. The controllers themselves are solid, and many of the designs are great--though, the newest one is certainly an exception. PowerA is releasing a Waluigi-themed Nintendo Switch controller on June 4, and it's a bit of an eye sore. But while Nintendo will probably never make Waluigi a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, you will soon be able to play Smash while gripping a controller with his face on it. PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller - Waluigi $50 The Waluigi-themed PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller has a purple and yellow color scheme. The colors aren't necessarily bad, but the designs thrown on top of them are weird. Waluigi, with his simultaneously mischievous and confused face, takes over the left handle. Just in case you didn't know that's Waluigi, his name is written in giant block letters and wraps around the right side of the controller. Tiny images of baddies like Goombas and Koopas are imprinted in the background, though many of them are obscured by a strange pattern in the middle of the controller. The plain yellow back panel is quite clean, though. See at Amazon To be fair, part of the charm of Waluigi is that he is a bizarre character that Nintendo doesn't seem to care about very much. Unlike Wario (Mario's counterpart), Waluigi has never been a leading man in a Nintendo game. He's been relegated to ensemble cast games like Mario Kart and Mario sports games. This controller design does match Waluigi's personality of being brash and rather unruly. Perhaps this is actually the design Waluigi deserves and his many admirers desire.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

So far, it doesn't look like the next major game patch is coming to Fortnite this week, as they usually arrive on Tuesdays with leaks arriving on Mondays. But Fortnite fans still have an update to look forward to by way of today's hotfix, which unvaults two fan-favorite weapons, the Infantry Rifle and Tactical Shotgun, alongside a small list of other fixes. The Tactical Shotgun was most recently seen in Fortnite Season 5. Meanwhile, the Infantry Rifle has been in the vault since the start of Chapter 2, meaning it's been over a year since players last got their hands on it in Battle Royale. For anyone who jumped in after Chapter 2 kicked off, this will be their introduction to one of the game's most beloved weapons.Alongside this lethal pair of weapons come some other boons for players scavenging in the game's last-player-standing mode. Epic said it is once again doubling the chance to find crafting parts in floor loot. This was not nerfed since the last tweak to drop rates, meaning the likelihood of players finding crafting parts in this way continues to surge as the season goes on.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

There's good news for fans of the CW shows Kung Fu and Stargirl. The two series have been renewed for new seasons, much like most of the rest of The CW's programming. The network has given Kung Fu a second season order, while Stargirl--a series originally produced for the late DC Universe streaming service--will return for Season 3."We are beyond proud to continue to share the stories of Nicky Shen and Courtney Whitmore, two strong, powerful young women at the center of this new generation of hit shows for The CW in Kung Fu and DC's Stargirl," CW president Mark Pedowitz said in a statement. "While each boasts remarkable talent on both sides of the camera, Kung Fu and DC's Stargirl have not only treated fans to some visually stunning action and high-flying heroics, but they also both strike very powerful emotional chords as they delve into the family dynamics and personal relationships at their core, and we are so excited to see what happens next."The Stargirl renewal is extra interesting as Season 2 of the series hasn't even debuted yet. It's set to return to The CW in August. The first season originally released first on DC Universe, before being broadcast on The CW the next day. Season 2 will be CW exclusive. The first season of Kung Fu is currently airing, after premiering on the network on April 7.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Apex Legends players on PS4 and PS5 can now pre-load the upcoming Legacy update on both platforms, which goes live May 4. Developer Respawn announced the move on Twitter on Monday, but several players on Twitter, Reddit, and other social media platforms have complained that the pre-load isn't working for them.We already know a ton about what's coming in the Apex Legends Season 9: Legacy update. As you might expect, it introduces a new character named Valkyrie who specializes in recon and aerial attack. (She has a jetpack, which is pretty wild.) As the patch notes reveal, Legacy makes a ton of changes to the game, including nerfing the recent changes to Lifeline's kit, while also improving her heal drone and care package abilities.PlayStation legends! Be ready to dive into the @playapex Legacy update as soon as it goes live by pre-loading now. While the game should automatically download the update, you can give it a little nudge by manually looking for the update. See you tomorrow! — Respawn (@Respawn) May 3, 2021Legacy will also introduce Arenas to the game, a 3v3 round-based team deathmatch that's very similar to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and fellow CS-like Valorant. There's a new weapon in Season 9 too, a marksman bow called the Bocek Bow that, similar to the G7 Scout and Triple-Take, is designed for mid-range and relies on precision hits. Since it uses arrows, players can retrieve ammo from downed foes and loot fired arrows from the ground. As usual, Legacy introduces new skins and other cosmetics to the game, including a Wraith skin that not all of us are happy about.Info from Gamespot.com
