Speedrunning organization Games Done Quick has released the full schedule for Summer Games Done Quick 2021, and the line-up is the usual mix of classic, well-known, and sometimes unexpected games that speedrun fans know and love. The event will run from July 4 to July 11 and will feature dozens of speedruns.The opening few games featured will include Dragon Age: Inquisition, Psychonauts, and F-Zero GX. Though the event will feature many well-known speedrunning games like Mario Kart 64, Super Mario 64, and Super Metroid, it also includes a number of lesser-known or just plain bizarre choices, like the N64 cult classic Blast Corps, a two players, one controller run of Sonic 3D Blast, and the forgotten From Software classic Metal Wolf Chaos XD. Some newer games also made it into the mix, including Teardown, a game that isn't even out of Early Access yet.As always, Summer Games Done Quick is a speedrunning marathon event where players demonstrate their ability to beat games as quickly as possible. Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton, One Night in Miami) will be joining the exciting and wild growing ensemble of Knives Out 2, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Odom Jr. will join fellow franchise newcomers Kathryn Hahn (WandaVision), Janelle Monáe (Homecoming), Dave Bautista (Army of the Dead), and Edward Norton (Fight Club). Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint is getting an update very soon, and it's focused on improving on the experience of playing with AI-controlled squadmates. As part of the game's title update 4.0.0, developer Ubisoft is changing the way that the game's AI systems work in order to give players more freedom to customize their teammates.This AI Teammate Experience update will give the game an all-new progression loop, where players can level up their teammates. Additionally, the collective level of your crew will be measured by a new collective Team Level, which will level up as the Team XP bar increases. You can earn more Team XP by completing challenges.As you level up your teammates, you can customize their loadouts with active and passive abilities. Additionally, you'll be able to select which teammates you want to take with you on each mission. Take-Two Interactive recently had a meeting for shareholders to review the company's full-year financial results, and based on that meeting, it's unlikely that GTA 6 will be coming out this current fiscal year, which runs through the end of March 2022. Take-Two stated that it plans to release 21 games between now and the end of the fiscal year, which certainly sounds like a lot.However, once you dig into the details, based on what we know about Take-Two's plans, chances of GTA 6 coming this year are very slim. Take-Two stated in the earnings release that only four of those games are "immersive core" releases, which is the category that GTA 6 would certainly belong to. Only two of those games will fall into existing franchises, and we already know that WWE 2K22 and the new NBA 2K are virtually guaranteed to release this year, leaving no room in the cards for GTA 6. Additionally, if a high-profile game like GTA 6 were coming this fiscal year, you would expect Take-Two to reflect that more clearly in its fiscal forecast.All is not lost, however. Take-Two further stated in the meeting that 19 more "immersive core releases" will follow in fiscal years 2023 and 2024, with seven of those being sports sim games and four of them being free-to-play. The Pokemon Company is giving players a chance to vote for Pokemon Sword and Shield's next freebie. Until May 20, the company is holding a poll on Twitter asking the community what item they would like distributed during the Pokemon Players Cup IV finals, which will take place later this summer.The poll features four options: PP Max, Focus Sash, Lucky Egg, and Gold Bottle Cap. PP Max and Gold Bottle Cap are both used outside of battle. Nintendo is releasing a new Amiibo figure alongside The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD this July. The figure features Zelda with her Loftwing and allows you to travel between the surface and the sky quickly.As Nintendo details in the trailer below, scanning the Zelda & Loftwing Amiibo while you're on the surface will let you return to the sky from anywhere, without having to use a Loftwing statue. Mass Effect: Legendary Edition has received a sizable patch across all platforms, aimed at fixing some visual bugs and one particularly tricky issue on Xbox Series X. The patch is now available across all platforms, and appears to range from 7 GB to 18 GB depending on your platform and current installs.According to the patch notes, the May 17 update makes improvements to the iris shaders, and fixes an issue that would crash the launcher on Xbox Series X while using a wireless headset. The notes mention that this might still happen if you enable or disable a headset while inside the launcher, but that will be resolved in a future patch.The other updates are broken down by which game(s) they apply to. A fix to the first and third games should make your Achievements and Trophies for kills track correctly, while the fixes to Mass Effect 2 are mostly focused on visual fidelity. PGA Tour 2K21 has introduced new DLC themed around another one of the publisher's sports franchises, the NBA. Available now in the game is new content for all 30 NBA teams.The new items--which can be unlocked with virtual currency that can be earned through gameplay or with real money--includes shirts and hats for user-created players. "Achieve baller status and represent your favorite NBA teams on the course," 2K said.The hats are available for 1,000 VC each, while the shirts are going for 2,000 VC each, which works out to about $10 for the hats and approximately $17 for the shirts.
