Tripwire Interactive has announced that Killing Floor 3, which had been scheduled to release on March 25, has been delayed to an unspecified date later this year. A number of changes will be made to the game both for the new launch date and afterward.Chief among those changes is a post-release update that will separate perk classes from characters, letting the two be chosen independently. The initial change to tie your class choice to a character proved to be contentious with some fans, mirroring similar complaints about Battlefield 2042's debut with hero-style classes."With the full support of our parent company, Embracer Group, we're working together on a timeline to address many of the common issues players had during the beta, including performance/stability, UI/UX, lighting, and weapon feel," the studio said in a statement. "We can confirm that an update allowing you to independently select your perk class and character is planned for post-release."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Nintendo has just added not one, but two amazing Game Boy titles to Switch Online: Mario's Picross and Donkey Kong '94. The former was the introduction to the logic-puzzle genre that seems ubiquitous today but was rare in 1995. Intriguingly enough, the same developer behind Mario's Picross--Jupiter Corp.--has created the Picross S series on Switch.Meanwhile, Donkey Kong '94 begins almost like a remake of the original Donkey Kong arcade game. But from there, the Game Boy title turns into a puzzle-platformer with Mario as the protagonist trying to rescue Pauline. You can see a video showcasing both games in action below.Last week, Nintendo announced it would delist a Switch Online game for the first time ever in Japan. Super Formation Soccer, known as Super Soccer in the US, will leave the subscription service on March 28.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The beloved roguelike platformer Spelunky 2 was released in 2020 for PlayStation 4, and a native PS5 version just dropped yesterday, March 6.While the PS4 version can back played on PS5 via backwards compatibility, the PS5 version has one crucial upgrade, as noted by Polygon. It can also run at a blazing-fast 120fps, provided that your monitor or TV has the capability to show those frames. Those extra frames could be the difference between victory and defeat in an unforgiving game like Spelunky 2.Spelunky 2 costs $20 on PSN. Fortunately, those who already own Spelunky 2 on PS4 can simply upgrade to the PS5 version for free. The game also has cross-play to its online multiplayer functions, so players can join up with others from different platforms.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Leaked gameplay footage of the next, still-untitled Battlefield game is making its way online, giving fans a glimpse at what the future of the franchise will entail.A small number of players are currently playing the next installment in the Battlefield franchise as part of an early Battlefield Labs playtest, and though those playing are under an NDA, gameplay footage has unsurprisingly leaked online. Publisher EA, at least initially, seemed to be pulling down leaked footage of the playtest, but many clips continue to circulate online for the time being.around 9 minutes of footage with sound since it seems EA retracted the takedowns pic.twitter.com/p3lEaw2FBA — bob. (@BobNetworkUK_) March 7, 2025 Despite the large scale playtest being described as existing so that players can give feedback on a pre-alpha version of the game, the new Battlefield looks to be fairly far along. This new entry takes place in the modern day rather than in the past (Battlefield 1 or Battlefield V) or the future (Battlefield 2042), bringing to mind the look and feel of games like Battlefield 3 and 4.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Fortnite has been the subject of lawsuits and other regulatory action a number of times over the years regarding its FOMO-driven item shop practices, and now we've got another one for the pile. A new proposed class-action suit filed in California and Texas, as reported by Polygon, takes aim at "fake countdown timers" that would seemingly indicate that an item is leaving the shop imminently--even though very often items would stick around for days or weeks after the timer expired. This suit is not, however, taking issue with the Fortnite item shop as it exists today. The timers in question were removed from Fortnite in 2023 as a result of action by regulators in The Netherlands, and replaced last May with new disclaimers on each item in the shop declaring the exact date and time they will leave the shop. So this suit is about Epic's alleged sins of the past. Before 2024, the Fortnite item shop was a much more nebulous place. Players were simply never told how long things would stay in the shop--when something appeared, it might stay for a day, a week, or a month, but there was no sure way to know. Sometimes the official Fortnite Twitter would announce that an item would be leaving, but those warnings usually came just hours before they left.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

It’s not uncommon for today’s best gaming mice to carry price tags over $100, but if you’re in the market for something much more affordable, check out the Logitech G305 Wireless Gaming Mouse discounted at Amazon. You can now pick it up for just $28.50 (was $50), which is the best price we’ve seen this year (and just shy of its all-time low of $24.88). Logitech G305 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse $28.50 (was $50) The G305 is a no-frills mouse that’s ideal for casual gaming across all genres. Featuring a 12K sensor for accurate movement tracking, up to 12,000 DPI, an ambidextrous design, and a 1ms response time thanks to the Lightspeed USB receiver, it’s shockingly well-equipped given its new low price point. It’s also quite light at just 99 grams, so you won’t have to worry about wrist strain during long gaming sessions. You won’t have to worry about its battery running out either, as it’s rated for up to 250 hours on a single AA battery. There are a few side buttons as well, giving it a total of 6 programmable buttons--so while it’s probably not enough for dedicated MMORPG players, it’s more than enough for most other uses.If you need to travel with the mouse, it benefits from a built-in storage slot for the USB receiver. A two-year limited warranty is included for added peace of mind. The black version of this mouse is the most affordable at $28.50, and a white version is also available for $31. Blue, lilac, and mint colors are also on sale--though the price cuts aren’t nearly as impressive. See at Amazon Logitech G Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse $69 (was $130) Willing to stretch your budget by $40? Take a peek at the Logitech G Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse that’s also on sale right now. It features a better 25K sensor than the G305, plus up to 25,600 DPI for added flexibility. It also shed some weight, clocking in at 80 grams instead of 99, and tacks on two extra customizable buttons, bringing the total number to eight. It still boasts an ambidextrous design and a 1ms response time (thanks to the same Lightspeed USB receiver), but its other specs make it a better fit for folks serious about competitive gaming. See at Amazon Logitech makes a bunch of popular gaming mice--so if you’re not sold on either of the two above, here are a handful of others to check out. Earlier this year, reports emerged that a new Resident Evil movie was in the works from Zach Cregger, the writer and director of Barbarian, a recent breakout horror hit. Now, after a reportedly fierce bidding war among studios, the Resident Evil reboot is remaining with Sony Pictures, the studio that released the first seven films in the franchise.Sony has confirmed that the next Resident Evil film will arrive on September 18, 2026. Cregger will direct the movie and co-write the script with Shay Hatten, a veteran of the John Wick films and their upcoming spin-off, Ballerina. Constantin Film--which produced the six Resident Evil movies starring Milla Jovovich as well as 2021's previous reboot attempt, Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City--will produce and co-finance the new movie alongside Sony's PlayStation Productions.A previous report from The Hollywood Reporter indicated that Warner Bros. and Netflix were among the bidders for the new incarnation of Resident Evil, which is believed to be a fresh start for the franchise. Cregger's Resident Evil film has been described by THR as "a revamp that will take the title to its horror roots and be more faithful to the initial games."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Aspiring game designers can save on the recently released new edition of one of the most popular game development reference books. Level Up: The Guide to Great Video Game Design by Scott Rogers is discounted to $36.70 (was $50) at Amazon. This deal applies to the 3rd Edition of Level Up, which was published in December, a full decade after the 2nd Edition. If you've ever looked for game design books, there's a good chance you've seen Level Up near the top of your searches. Amazon's deal brings the price of the 3rd Edition within a dollar of the 2nd Edition. Level Up: The Guide to Great Video Game Design - 3rd Edition $36.70 (was $50) Level Up covers a wide array of game design topics across its 600-plus pages, from creating design documents and optimizing gameplay controls to building levels and crafting a narrative that gels with the gameplay. The lessons are accompanied by over 400 drawings to help readers visualize the concepts. The 3rd Edition of Level Up adds two additional chapters. Since the 2nd Edition was published way back in 2014, the text has been updated to reflect modern industry trends and platforms. Level Up is geared toward designers working on projects for PC, mobile, console, or VR/AR. The two new chapters focus on playtesting your game and designing experiences for virtual and augmented reality.Written by industry veteran Scott Rogers, Level Up has been a mainstay on bestseller charts since its initial publication in 2010. Rogers has dozens of credits to his name across the last three decades, including God of War, Pac-Man World, and Darksiders. Beyond video games, Rogers has also worked as a designer on tabletop games such as Marvel Villainous and Alien: Fate of the Nostromo. See at Amazon If you're looking to build up a library of game development books, there are several other titles worth grabbing, many of which are on sale right now. The Art of Game Design: A Book of Lenses by Jesse Schell takes a novel approach by presenting you with over 100 sets of questions for viewing a game's design, and Theory of Fun for Game Design by Raph Koster takes you deep into the influences that underlie modern video game design. Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding legend Hideo Kojima also wrote a book called The Creative Gene that one examines how movies and stories influenced his work across the decades. Some other books worth looking at are Significant Zero: Heroes, Villains, and the Fight for Art and Soul in Video Games by Spec Ops: The Line writer Walt Williams and Blood, Sweat, and Pixels by Jason Schrier. While these aren't about game design, they are invaluable for gaining an understanding into the turbulent video game industry. Wonderbook: The Illustrated Guide to Creating Imaginative Fiction is also worth considering--even if it is geared primarily at budding sci-fi and fantasy writers--as it's an accessible guide to building worlds within works of fiction.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

In just over a month, players will have a better idea of what to expect from the Switch 2 when it's showcased during a Nintendo Direct on April 2. Because Nintendo had to share certain technical specs with the Federal Communication Commission ahead of time, players are now privy to a few additional details about the upcoming console.Via The Verge, the FCC has posted some of the Switch 2 technical specs online. While most of these reports are very dry with technical jargon, they do indicate that Switch 2 will support near field communication, or NFC, which is how the Amiibo figures were able to connect with Nintendo's previous console to unlock new in-game content. It's also been confirmed that the radio-frequency identification (RFID) feature is located in the right Joy-Con, just as it was in the first Switch. While that's not 100% confirmation that Amiibos will continue to be utilized with the Switch 2, it certainly seems likely that they will. The FCC filings indicate that Switch 2 will support Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) networks with up to 80MHz of bandwidth. That's an upgrade from the original Switch's Wi-Fi 5 capabilities, but not as fast as Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7. These reports also confirm that Switch 2 has two USB-C ports, one at the top and one at the bottom. The system can be charged through either of those ports.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
