Returnal's next patch, version 1.3.7, is releasing tomorrow, developer Housemarque has announced. The patch should help with some of the game's remaining crashing issues, as well as a fix that should save you from hearing loss. The patch notes posted on Housemarque's website (and below) say it includes "multiple fixes for rare crashes during gameplay," though it doesn't specify if there are any specific triggers for that. We've experienced some Returnal crashes, ourselves, including one that shut down the PS5 itself, but they've been relatively rare.Additionally, a "rare audio bug causing loud noises during combat" has been addressed. This bug made an incredibly loud noise--it sounded like the Inception sound effect--blare through your speakers, seemingly at random. What isn't mentioned is a separate issue that could cause all sound playing through the TV speakers to cut out, even outside the game on PS5, until the game was restarted. We also encountered this issue once.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The first trailer for Netflix's action movie The Ice Road has landed, showing off Liam Neeson and Laurence Fishburne as ice road truckers on a perilous journey.A diamond mine has collapsed in northern Canada, and Neeson and Fishburne take up the call to deliver an essential piece of equipment to rescue them. The only thing is they have to cross a slippery, scary 300-mile ice road to get there, and they only have 30 hours. At the same time, their mission is being sabotaged. None of it's good, but if the Taken franchise has taught us anything, it's to never bet against a man with a particular set of skills, whether those skills are murdering people to save your daughter or driving a truck across ice.The Ice Road is scheduled for release on Netflix on June 25. It's written and directed by Jonathan Hensleigh, who is no stranger to action movies. He wrote Die Hard: With A Vengeance and Armageddon, while he directed 2004's The Punisher.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

A small background shape in a recent Batman comic book has Fortnite fans speculating that Nintendo's Samus Aran is on the way to the game. Yes, that's a real sentence in this, the year 2021.For some background, the comic Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point has the caped crusader pulled into the world of Fortnite, where the character recently made a cameo as a playable character in a crossover event.GamesRadar reports that on page 12 of the comic, as Batman rides atop a car careening off of a cliff--you know, Batman stuff--the background shows a few silhouetted characters. The third one, seen on the right, has two very rounded shoulders, which some eagle-eyed fans have concluded belongs to the Metroid heroine.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Netflix has given an eight-order episode series order to an untitled "global spy adventure" starring and executive produced by Arnold Schwarzenegger, according to a release. The series is the action star and former politician's first major foray into scripted television. The hourlong series, which also stars Monica Barbaro (Top Gun: Maverick) playing Schwarzenegger's daughter is about family members who "learn that they've each secretly been working as CIA Operatives for years" and "realize their entire relationship has been a lie and they truly don't know one another at all." They are then, of course, forced to team up as partners on a mission, in a series that is being billed as "tackl[ing] universal family dynamics set against a global backdrop of spies, fantastic action, and humor." For what it's worth, this should be an intriguing outing, but it does sound reminiscent of Schwarzenegger's 1994 film, True Lies."Fans from all over the world have been asking me for a wild ride like this for years, and now they're finally going to get it," said Schwarzenegger.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl arrive on Nintendo Switch later this year, but those aren't the only Pokemon titles on the way to the console. The Pokemon Company revealed the title during the Pokemon Presents event back in February, giving us our first look at its expansive setting and real-time gameplay elements.Although the title is still a little while away, here's everything we know so far about Pokemon Legends: Arceus.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has confirmed that an Injustice animated movie will be in the studio's slate of upcoming films--spinning off the popular video game and comics franchise of the same name. A further "advanced" sneak peek of the project will be among the special features in the upcoming Blu-ray and digital releases of Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two, according to a release. No other details, including a release date or voice cast, have been announced. But it's a safe bet fans will take to the internet and begin speculating, predicting, and campaigning for certain voice actors to take on the many sizable roles the Injustice franchise offers from the DC Universe, a game series that prominently features storylines for characters including Batman, Superman, Black Canary, Green Arrow, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, and The Flash. While Injustice 3 hasn't yet been officially confirmed to be in development, the movie could have compelling possibilities for overlaps with such a title--it's also entirely possible that this might be a sequel to the games, or merely a retelling of the stories told in them. With a series where so much of the world is bizarro, literally anything could happen in the story. Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Nintendo Switch Online's SNES and NES libraries are growing a little bigger next week with the arrival of five more games. As usual, however, this month's batch largely consists of obscurities, with the biggest addition (outside of Japan, at least) being Nick Arcade staple Joe & Mac. The new titles are likely solid, as all the games Nintendo has added to the service thus far have generally been, but this unexciting selection highlights what has been an ongoing problem: Switch Online's classic games libraries will never feel complete without major third-party releases. While most of Nintendo's own SNES and NES titles are already available on the service (with a few notable holdouts), Switch Online is still sorely lacking many third-party games that helped define those classic consoles. The NES would not have been as beloved as it was without, say, Castlevania or Mega Man, and the SNES had an incredible selection of RPGs like Chrono Trigger or Secret of Mana. These games are among the best on their respective systems, but none of them are available on Switch Online yet, which is disappointing. There are undoubtedly hurdles to these games coming to the service. Secret of Mana, Castlevania, and Mega Man, for example, are all available on the Switch already as part of their own collections, which makes it unlikely that we'll see them added to Switch Online. After all, what incentive would Square Enix, Konami, and Capcom have to give these games away to NSO subscribers when they could sell the titles and profit directly? But even if you're content being able to purchase these games on Switch, there are still some classics--such as the original Metal Gear and the NES/SNES Final Fantasy games--that aren't playable on the system in any form.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

A Batgirl movie is in the works for HBO Max, The Hollywood Reporter says, and it will be directed by the duo behind last year's breakout hit, Bad Boys For Life, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. This particular movie has been in and out of development for several years, dating back to 2017 when it was initially announced that Joss Whedon was in talks to write and direct on the project as part of the DCEU. However, in 2018 he departed. In 2018, Bumblebee and Birds of Prey's Christina Hodson was brought on to write the script. Since then, the project has been actively shopping for directors, which it has now found in Al Arbi and Fallah, who are coming off of another superhero franchise as the showrunners and directors on Disney+'s MCU TV show, Ms. Marvel.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Gears 5's latest update is out, and it adds in a number of usability, accessibility, and multiplayer changes. In addition to now allowing players to disable camera shake and turn on more clear path signaling, the update also overhauls the way that competitive leaderboards work.In Gears 5's Operation 7 patch notes for this week, developer The Coalition revealed that it's adding a number of welcome accessibility options. These include allowing players to turn off the shaky camera effect and turn on the Target Lock feature on difficulties up to Advanced. In addition, the studio's added a brand-new feature that it calls Navigation Ping - Escape Mode. This essentially adds additional options for adding UI elements to reveal the main path through the game. For example, you can turn on "Full Path Always" which will add a permanent ping to direct you to the right path; or you can enable "Doorways Always" which constantly pings main exits to each area of the map. If that's too much, there are variations on those two options where they're only enabled when Taccom is active.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart continues to impress, with a new trailer highlighting all the ways Ratchet and new heroine Rivet will be able to traverse the various worlds of the game. Also, it shows off a bunch of wacky weaponry players will be able to get their hands on, which, let's be honest, is what Ratchet & Clank always does best.As shown in previous trailers and highlighted once more here, players will be able to bridge gaps using the Rift Tether ability to hook rifts in space and time and teleport Ratchet (or Rivet) to that location. The visually impressive phantom dash will allow players to move out of harm's way similar to a dodge roll (but way cooler looking). And then there are, of course, the weapons, which the trailer's narrator says players will be able to feel with the power of the DualSense controller's haptic feedback. The trailer just gives a glimpse of the weapons players will be able to use, showing a wide-variety of the game's destructive arsenal including a gatling gun called the Blackhole Storm, a chain-lightning weapon called the Lightning Rod, and a gigantic laser beam called the Negatron Collider.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
