In less than a month, the drought will be over. New episodes of Rick and Morty will arrive with the Season 5 premiere on June 20th on Adult Swim. Now, thanks to a tweet from the show's official Twitter account, we know the titles of all 10 episodes that will debut this season. Each title this season, save for one, is simply a title from a popular property with Rick, Morty, or both worked in somewhere. From "Gotron Jerrysis Rickvangelion" (Neon Genesis Evangelion) to "Amortycan Grickfitti" (American Graffiti), the references to other pieces of pop culture are pretty easy to decipher. However, there's also what looks like a Thanksgiving special mixed in, called "Rick & Morty's Thanksploitation Spectacular." You can take a look at the full list of Season 5 episodes below."Mort Dinner Rick Andre""Mortiplicity""Rickdependence Spray""Amortycan Grickfitti""Rick & Morty's Thanksploitation Spectacular""A Rickconvenient Mort""Gotron Jerrysis Rickvangelion""Rickternal Friendshine of the Spotless Mort""Forgetting Sarick Mortshall""Rickmurai Jack"Of course, the titles don't really reveal much about what the episodes will be, unless this new season is just parodies of other shows, movies, and anime. That's most likely not the case, though.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Fortnite update 16.50 launches tomorrow, May 25, and it's expected to be the final update of the season. In its usually vague way, Epic has teased what's in store with the Fortnite 16.50 patch notes. At the forefront of the patch is the return of a mysterious "fan favorite" item, which Epic says will be unvaulted. According to dataminers, the item is likely to be the Dual Pistols, to coincide with this week's leaked Legendary Quest which asks players to deal damage with the Dual Pistols. This week's legendary quest is "Deal damage with dual pistols (1500->7500)" so its most likely what they will unvault tomorrow! — HYPEX (@HYPEX) May 24, 2021The short patch notes also allude to players in Creative mode gaining access to bigger area maps to play around with, which might make creating NBA Creative modes bigger and better this week. Patch 16.50 will also lay the ground work for the next Wild Weeks theme, which seems to focus on Gold Bars. It's likely the theme this week will give players more Gold Bars, either in chests and floor loot, or for completing NPC challenges.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The cult-classic film Faster Pussycat, Kill! Kill! is making the jump from the big screen to TV. The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus' bigbaldhead production company is teaming with AMC Studios on the project, according to a report fromDeadline.Info on the actual production is light, as the project is very early in development. No casting information is yet available, nor word of a showrunner or writers for the show. The project has full backing from director Russ Meyer's estate, Deadline says.If you're unfamiliar with Faster Pussycat, Kill! Kill!, the 1962 exploitation film flopped with critics and audiences alike at release, but has since become a cult classic. The film follows three go-go dancers (perhaps the most 1960s occupation possible) named Billie, Rosie, and Varla, who murder and kidnap their way across the California desert. The movie is regraded by many critics as a landmark film for its strong female characters. Directors like John Waters and Quentin Tarantino have praised it, with the former calling it "the best movie ever made," and that it's "possibly better than any film that will be made in the future."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently said in an interview with GamesIndustry.biz that he believes that the additional sales and revenue that the video game industry racked up due to the pandemic represents a "permanent shift." This follows Take-Two's year-end earnings report last week, where the publisher cited a "transformational shift in entertainment consumption" that would benefit not only the company, but the video game industry as a whole."Interactive entertainment is now the number one entertainment vertical in terms of revenue, and I guess people still don't fully realize that," Zelnick said. "And a good deal of that growth was driven by people either discovering or rediscovering interactive entertainment and its social aspects during the pandemic. And what we've found is that while certain trends should be expected to moderate, that shift is permanent."Zelnick further clarified that he believes that the social aspects of popular games are driving this growth. He said that consumers who enjoy "shared entertainment experiences" are coming into the video game market, similar to those who enjoy going to theme parks or watching movies together. Additionally, Zelnick said that Take-Two would like to take its popular core brands and extend them into the mobile space, similar to what Activision did with Call of Duty Mobile.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Biomutant's post-apocalyptic open world differs from the norm, even if it's guilty of adhering to a few familiar tropes. The remnants of its neglected towns are still populated by dilapidated buildings and roaming bandits, and its overgrown roadways are littered with the burnt-out husks of abandoned vehicles. But Biomutant also utilizes a vivid color palette that makes its verdant fields and picturesque red mountains pop with the kind of striking vibrancy that's rarely associated with the apocalypse.Throw in some furry anthropomorphic creatures, and Biomutant's character design and general style is certainly atypical of the genre. Yet it also consists of a mishmash of fairly obvious influences, from a Breath of the Wild-esque structure to combo-driven combat that's similar to Devil May Cry, and other familiar elements from the likes of Fallout, Max Payne, and Borderlands. It's a flavorful petri dish, for sure, and there are plenty of uneven and drab aspects to its overall design and structure. The mixture between old and new ideas doesn't always sit right, but Biomutant also manages to carve out its own identity amid its many inspirations. This begins with the character creator, as you step into the flocculent skin of one of the aforementioned creatures--an odd hybrid between a squirrel, rat, and any other scurrying critter that comes to mind. Choosing a breed affects your starting stats to a certain degree, and you can pump points into specific attributes if you fancy, say, dealing more melee damage or increasing your chances of bartering with merchants. If this sounds like your typical by-the-numbers RPG progression system, it's because it is. There's some personality to the character creator, as your body shape will change depending on which stats you opt to emphasize--big head for intellect, big biceps for strength. Ultimately, however, your starting attributes aren't especially significant. You're able to put 10 points into a category each time you level up, so it's easy to build a fairly well-rounded character within a few hours.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Ubisoft has officially announced Rainbow Six Siege's Year 6, Season 2: North Star. The new season will feature the indigenous operator Thunderbird of the Nakoda nation--located in what is today's western Canada.Thunderbird is a Defender with a focus on healing abilities and speed, though this comes at the expense of armor. She can use either the SPEAR .308 or the SPAS-15 shotgun as her weapon along with the BEARING 9 or Q-929 sidearm. Her Kóna healing station is a risk-versus-reward sort of device, as she can deploy it to heal anyone close to the device, but this means truly anyone; if enemies are nearby, they'll get healed, and this includes downed enemies, so it can inadvertently help the other team. The Favela map has also been reworked for the North Star season, improving rooms and the map overview. "These changes will improve readability, making sure players always know where they are and where they are going when playing on Favela," Ubisoft said.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

On May 22, 2017, amidst the hundreds or thousands of Twitter accounts that are created, one rose above all others. Simply called "#DarkUniverse," the account sent out two tweets, signifying the start of another shared movie universe that would end up consisting of one movie, Tom Cruise's The Mummy. At 10:03 AM PT / 1:03 PM ET, a tweet was unleashed onto the masses that simply said, "Welcome to a new world of gods and monsters." It featured a video consisting of clips from classic Universal Pictures movies like Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, Bride of Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, The Phantom of the Opera, and Creature from the Black Lagoon. It also linked to the now defunct Darkuniverse.com, which currently brings you to the Universal Pictures site. However, what got most people talking was the second--and final--tweet from the Dark Universe account, which begged onlookers to witness the beginning of a new cinematic universe with its stars that would surely build a long-lasting franchise.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

We've had very little in the way of Metroid news since Nintendo announced it had completely restarted the development of Metroid Prime 4 back in January 2019, but something in the company's last Nintendo Switch Online game update trailer causes me to believe that some kind of Metroid announcement is imminent.Like the best conspiracy theories, this one is premised on tiny, incidental details that likely have no significance at all. Still, I won't let little matters like logic put a damper on things, so join me as I dive down this rabbit hole and outline the (admittedly tenuous) reasons why I believe some Metroid news is coming soon.To put everything into proper context, we first need to go back to September 2018, when Nintendo launched its Switch Online service. One of the primary perks the service offers to subscribers is access to a library of classic NES games (which would be expanded to include SNES games as well starting in September 2019). If you look at this screen cap from the NES overview trailer, you'll notice that Nintendo's Switch profile icon in the upper left corner of the screen is Mario.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Thanks to a viral tweet, there has been a lot of renewed discussion and interest in the possibility of Halo adopting a battle royale mode of its own at some point in the future. 343 Industries has commented on the possibility of Halo battle royale before, but the studio has never given a definitive answer, and even if it did, plans can always change. In this feature, we’re looking at what’s been said so far and diving into what a Halo battle royale could look like and offer. How We Got HereWith games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, PUBG, Call of Duty: Warzone, and others dominating the headlines and sparking conversations about battle royale, it was only logical that attention would eventually turn to Halo. In July 2018, Halo franchise writer Jeff Easterling poured cold water on the idea of Halo Infinite featuring a battle royale mode by saying, "I'll tell you right now, the only BR we're interested in is Battle Rifle."In April 2019, noted Microsoft insider Brad Sams reported that 343 was considering the possibility of adding a battle royale mode to Halo Infinite in some form. Sams reported that Halo Infinite's take on battle royale would offer something different compared to Fortnite and Apex, but we never learned any specifics.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Few other games have changed as much post-launch as No Man's Sky, which has gone through several significant overhauls since its release in 2016. It looks like developer Hello Games isn't done yet: the company is now teasing that it has plans to celebrate the game's fifth anniversary later this year.In a blog post, Hello Games mentioned that the game will soon be turning five--and it has some surprises in store. There is, of course, no hint as to what might be coming, but additional big gameplay changes and improvements are not out of the question. "As this is our fifth anniversary year, we have some other surprises up our sleeves, with more information coming very soon," Hello Games wrote. The studio also spent time in the post discussing its latest event, an Expedition that ultimately culminated in players getting to add Mass Effect's Normandy SR1 ship to their fleet. This crossover event was held alongside the release of Mass Effect Legendary Edition.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

There's little doubt that 1440p is the current sweet spot for a gaming monitor. Most GPUs can handle the resolution while also providing a tangible upgrade over 1080p, but it's also a tier where high refresh rates also make the most sense. And if you're looking for one of the best combinations of the two, Samsung's G7 Odyssey Curved Monitor is hard to beat. The traditional Samsung blue lighting on the back has also been replaced with a nice moody red, along with some details around the chassis. It might be an improvement to your eyes, especially considering that the underlying display is unchanged. That means you get Samsung's QLED-infused VA panel, which ensures eye-catching color reproduction and deep black with its high contrast level. The panel also supports an incredibly fast 240Hz refresh rate, which is more than enough if you're taking your competitive games seriously.
