Every generation has its Superman, and for many kids who grew up in the early 2000s, that's Tom Welling's Clark Kent of Smallville. Now, Welling and co-star Michael Rosenbaum are looking to revive the characters for an animated series, the actor says."Michael Rosenbaum and I are actually working on an animated series to bring those characters back to life, and use as many of the original cast members as possible," Welling said in a video message to a fan via Cameo. "Don't tell anybody, though. It's a secret--we're still working on it."AHHHHHHHHHHHHH SMALLVILLE ANIMATED SERIES IS COMING!!!!! pic.twitter.com/k9BSSKnipm — The Best of the Best is a Raimi Shill (@alwaysthebestM) June 24, 2021On the one hand, this is coming straight from the mouth of the actor who played the character for many years on the original show. On the other, it's far from a confirmation. Importantly, Welling says that he and Michael Rosenbaum are developing the show--no mention of the show's original creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, nor of the likely rights holders, the CW television network.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Despite Rainbow Six Extraction and Rainbow Six Siege's similarities, Extraction creative director Patrik Méthé isn't worried about the two games possibly cannibalizing each other's audiences. He said that developer Ubisoft Montreal is confident that Extraction will build its own sustainable audience instead of stealing players away from Siege."They're both very different games offering their own challenges and pacing so there's no worry in that regard, quite the opposite in fact," Méthé told GameSpot. "The way [Extraction] is built in its PvE nature--we're confident that it will appeal to a wide variety of players from both sides."For Siege players looking to split their time with Extraction, Méthé says that Extraction's formula changes how you play with certain operators and their abilities, so playing the game should be a "fresh experience," even if it does feel familiar.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Scarlet Nexus takes us to a world where humans have developed psionic powers and the ability to connect their minds to each other. This has dramatically transformed life as we know it, allowing for a new era of connected consciousness and advanced technology. However, things aren’t all sunshine and roses for humanity--the populace lives in fear of the Others, grotesque brain-consuming monsters that randomly emerge from a mysterious belt that surrounds the planet. Their destructive impulses have rendered many areas uninhabitable, forcing humans to congregate in cities under the protection of the Other Suppression Force--an army of elite psionics trained to handle Other attacks. Yuito and Kasane are two fresh-faced recruits to the OSF, and they find their skills quickly put to the test during attacks. When a mission goes awry, they will be forced to take sides and fight to expose disturbing truths lying under the surface. The setting of Scarlet Nexus is an intriguing mix of cyberpunk imagery, dystopian society, and pure sci-fi that captures your attention immediately. You get the feeling from the get-go that something is off about everything that’s going on, which only increases when you first lay eyes on the Others--horrendous aberrations that mix familiar organic and inorganic objects into monsters that move like living creatures, but feel disconcertingly unnatural. Additionally, the cutscenes are primarily presented in the form of comic-style still panels, giving the game the distinct feel of a high-stakes, episodic manga. It’s slick and distinct, which gives Scarlet Nexus a lot of personality. You begin the game by choosing either Yuito or Kasane as your primary playable character. Yuito is a fairly standard action-game swordsman, while Kasane is more of a technical fighter with her ranged daggers. Both characters have combo attacks, jumping strikes, dodges--the usual array of 3D combat maneuvers. However, they also have the ability to use psychokinetic powers, introducing an additional unique element to combat. By holding R2, they can grab a background object and slam it directly into a foe, potentially catching the enemy off-guard and opening them up for further combo attacks.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

After hitting an approach shot that landed a few feet from the hole, I dashed down the fairway, hopped over the lip of the bunker and settled over my tap-in for birdie. I wound up making a double bogey. Chargin’ Chuck smacked a Bob-omb on the green, blasting my ball into the rough. Then Boo unleashed its special shot, sending my chip woefully right of its target. From there, I frantically missed my long bogey putt and finally tapped in for my lousy score. When Mario Golf: Super Rush is at its best, chaos is what makes it tick. These unpredictable moments are hilarious, adding a new dimension to Camelot’s long-running sports series. Zany courses designed to look more like 3D Super Mario levels and a pair of new fast-paced modes turn the typically leisurely sport of golf into an action game. But for all of the exciting moments and innovation Mario Golf: Super Rush offers, it still feels slim on content and lackluster at times.Super Rush tries to add to its variety even in its pair of control schemes: a button-based swing system and motion controls. The button-based control scheme differs slightly from previous entries. This time around, you click once to start your swing and just once more to set your power. Accuracy is determined by "shift," marks outside of the meter that funnel outward. Off the tee and in the fairway, the marks are confined to the top, but when you have a bad lie, they start much lower, making it less likely to hit your shot on target. Super Rush's button-based swing system rewards finding the short grass.Like Mario Golf: World Tour for 3DS, you can also add sidespin and alter trajectory by moving the joystick left, right, up, or down during the follow through. Besides a new flop shot mechanic--which requires you to tap A when the on-screen circle turns blue--Super Rush’s accurate swing system will still feel familiar to anyone who has played a Mario Golf title despite the slight changes.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Epic Games has pioneered numerous tools for online gaming, two of which it is now going to start distributing for free for any studios to utilize. The company's anti-cheat software and cross-platform compatible chat solution is being added to the Epic Online Services suite, providing quick and easy access to any engine that is used for games across PC and consoles.Epic's Easy Anti-Cheat isn't a new tool, but it has previously only been licensed out by Epic to studios willing to pay. As the prevalence of cross-platform play has grown, Epic has seen the need to provide the software for free given how more and more games are letting players interact with PC--a platform where most cheating software is available. This is the same anti-cheat software used in massive online games like Fortnite, which is a good example of how effective it can be. It isn't perfect--cheaters still make it through while some players can be falsely flagged--but it's likely one of the best solutions for studios that can't pioneer their own.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Since its troubled launch, Microsoft has been offering a no-questions-asked refund policy exclusive to Cyberpunk 2077, letting you get your money back regardless of the time you might have spent with the game on Xbox. That is set to change on July 6, as Microsoft reverts to its regular policy given all of the game updates developer CD Projekt Red has released. An update on Xbox's Refund Terms page references the work CD Projekt Red has done since launch to make Cyberpunk 2077 more stable since launch, stating that hard work has gone into improving the experience for all players. As a result, any refunds for Cyberpunk 2077 after July 6 will be processed through standard means, where Microsoft reserves the right to refuse a refund based on playtime, type of uses, and more factors outlined in the full refund policy.Unlike Sony, Microsoft chose not to remove Cyberpunk 2077 from sale on Xbox, probably thanks to this refund policy allowing players to make the choice themselves with the assurance that they won't be wasting money if dissatisfied. Although there have been multiple updates since launch, Cyberpunk 2077 still has numerous issues that are being ironed out, with Sony even adding a disclaimer to avoid playing the game on base PS4 consoles after it returned to PSN this month. Considering base Xbox One consoles will have a similarly tough time with it, you should likely heed the same warning.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Starfield, the upcoming original title from Bethesda, may be set centuries in the future, but some things never go out of style--like a slice of cheddar cheese or salami. The oh-so-prominently featured sandwich from the Starfield trailer has attracted a decent amount of attention, and naturally, someone has figured out exactly how to make it.The recipe for the Starfield "Space Sandwich" was put together by Victoria Rosenthal. Rosenthal runs a site called Pixelated Provisions, where she recreates the food players eat in games in real life. She is also the author of multiple cookbooks, including the official Street Fighter, Destiny, and Fallout cookbooks. Suffice to say, when it comes to recreating video game food, Rosenthal knows what she's talking about.Rosenthal's full recipe shows just how a classic sandwich never gets old, even if you're traveling through the stars. Apparently, the astronaut in Starfield was eating a salami and cheddar sandwich on white bread with pickled red onions, lettuce, and dijon mustard. In terms of sandwiches, it's a granddaddy, a classic, and clearly it will outlast us all. If you follow the recipe step-by-step, the end result will be an undeniably tasty (and photogenic) lunch.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The sci-fi anime action RPG Scarlet Nexus launches on June 25, and the reviews are in. While not everyone is familiar with the upcoming game, it has received generally positive reviews from critics, who have praised its relatable characters, its surprisingly compelling plot, and especially its deep combat system as pluses. The PS5 version of Scarlet Nexus currently sits at an 80 on GameSpot's sister site Metacritic, and if you want more info on the reviews, read on below.GameSpot's review of Scarlet Nexus is still in the works, but reviews praise it as an unexpectedly good time, with Polygon going so far as to call it a "surprise gem." Several of the below excerpts describe the game as a combination of the frenetic action of the Tales series with the social interaction systems of a Persona game. However, some critics have faulted its social systems for insufficient depth when compared to the confidant system of Persona 5 Royal. Still, many of the reviewers said they hope to see a sequel that iterates on the game's core ideas. Additionally, multiple reviewers suggest that Scarlet Nexus is quite lengthy, clocking in at 60 hours or so."Scarlet Nexus has a colorful cast of characters and an impressive variety of gameplay mechanics, but for me, the unexpected cherry on top was its story," wrote Polygon's critic George Yang. "The chapters are very well-paced, and none of them overstays its welcome. 2021 is seeing quite a lot of JRPGs, with many of them being continuations of existing franchises or just remasters. But after having played through both of Scarlet Nexus’ storylines, I believe it has the potential to be a surprise hit this year for fans of the genre. Don’t let this brand-new futuristic brainpunk adventure slip past you."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
