Dark Horse Comics has formed a games division named Dark Horse Games. The division is responsible for the games and digital division of Dark Horse, working to bring the company's portfolio of comics and IPs to video games. The division will be headed up by Johnny B. Lee, who previously worked at Improbable. On the company's website, it states that Dark Horse Games will be looking to partner with video game developers in order to turn its IP into video games across "mobile, PC, console, and cloud." Dark Horse Games is also looking to make internal games as well for its lesser-known IP, so it can roll out multimedia projects alongside the games."We have evergreen properties, like Hellboy, where there will always be interest in making games and doing collaborations," Lee told GamesBeat in an interview. "We and our partners can really evaluate if a story IP and character universe would be a good fit for games that they're internally designing and developing. I think most triple-A devs that I've talked to prefer their game dev team to build core gameplay and then fit an IP to it, versus shoving an IP down their throats. We're sensitive to that."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Originally released 14 years ago in 2007 and now new again in World of Warcraft Classic with its re-launch today, June 1, The Burning Crusade was a landmark expansion for the MMO. The first expansion to the genre-defining game set the stage for what would come in the future in a variety of ways, and it left a lasting impact on Azeroth. As the first WoW expansion, a lot was riding on it--and it delivered. The expansion added the game's first new races--the Draenei and the Blood Elves--that shook up the meta, along with new zones, more PvP content, and much more. The old is new again, as The Burning Crusade launched for WoW Classic today, allowing players to revisit vanilla TBC how they remember it all those years ago. Ahead of the launch, GameSpot spoke with Blizzard's Brian Birmingham (lead software engineer) and John Hight (executive producer for WoW and vice president at Blizzard), both of whom are veterans of the games studio who looked back and reflected on the launch and impact of The Burning Crusade.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Mere moments after the official opening of the Dark Portal and the beginning of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Classic, Blizzard has announced it is experiencing a DDoS attack which may cause high latency and disconnections for players.A DDoS attack, or distributed denial-of-service attack, occurs when the bandwidth or resources of a particular system or server are flooded with traffic. It's become a sadly common occurrence for many online games over the years.[#BurningCrusade] We are currently experiencing a DDoS attack, which may result in high latency and disconnections for some players. We are actively working to mitigate this issue. — Blizzard CS - The Americas (@BlizzardCS) June 1, 2021We're currently experiencing a DDOS attack, which may result in high latency and disconnections for some players. We're actively working to mitigate the issue. — WarcraftDevs (@WarcraftDevs) June 1, 2021Players on the game's subreddit report that the highly populated server Faerlina, where many of the game's biggest streamers play, seems to be taking the brunt of the attack.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

As trading cards of all types continue to be a hot commodity, eBay has updated its bid retraction policy as it relates to trading cards. Starting on June 30, people will no longer be able to retract a bid for a trading card without permission from the seller. This comes as trading cards of all types have had a massive influx of sales in recent months. Pokemon, MLB, NFL, and NBA cards have all seen a rise in popularity, even prompting Target to stop selling cards in stores because people cannot behave themselves.eBay has become a popular place to buy and sell cards since people can sell any rare cards they pull for a markup, something people even did with the McDonalds Pokemon cards back in February. The updated policy removes the ability for people to retract bids on trading cards without the seller's permission.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Two Point Studios appears to be hanging up the lab coat and reaching for a cap and gown in its follow-up to 2018's Two Point Hospital, Two Point Campus. While the game has yet to be officially confirmed, a listing on the Microsoft store (since taken down) unveiled images and a lengthy description of the game, which promises to be full of laughs, "twists," and "new creative tools to help you build the university of your dreams."Similarly to Two Point Hospital, Two Point Campus appears to be a comedic management sim packed with plenty of puns and nonsense. One such example is that players are permitted to teach "Knight School" at their universities, a series of classes where students can learn jousting and other chivalrous skills. The game also features a Gastronomy class, where students create "mouth-watering concoctions like giant pizzas and enormous pies." When not creating a wacky course catalog, players must build up their campuses with the best professors and facilities to "watch the academic potential of your students get unlocked."However, just as importantly as academics is the happiness of player's students. In addition to managing their money and resources, players must also get to know their pupils and "explore their individual personalities, wants and needs" in order to keep them happy with clubs, societies, and gigs. In fact, it seems like the happiness and relationship status of your students will play a pretty major role in your college's success based on the game's description. According to the listing, players will need to "surround [the students] with friends, help them develop relationships, furnish them with pastoral care and ensure they have the right amount of joie de vivre to develop into incredible individuals who will do the legacy of your university proud."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

While 2020 may have thrown a proverbial banana peel on the MCU's Phase 4 track, things are quickly getting back up to speed. The upcoming fourth Thor movie, Love and Thunder, has officially wrapped filming and star Chris Hemsworth has shared a photo (alongside director Taika Waititi in full Korg regalia) to celebrate the occasion. View this post on InstagramA post shared by Chris Hemsworth (@chrishemsworth)Hemsworth writes that the film is going to be "bats*** crazy and off the wall funny" which should come as no surprise, considering the tone and scale of Thor: Ragnarok, which was also helmed by Waititi. And speaking of the director, we can see that he will indeed be reprising his role as the soft-spoken rock monster, Korg, who we last saw hanging out with Thor back on the Asgardian settlement on Earth. Meanwhile, Hemsworth seems to have traded in his traditional Thor costume for a tank top and jeans. Apparently life on Earth rubbed off on him a bit more than we could have guessed. Not much is known about the actual plot of Thor: Love and Thunder, but its cast list is impressive. We'll be seeing new additions like Christian Bale as Gor, The God Butcher, a villain who unsurprisingly lives up to his name in the comics, to familiar faces making their long awaited returns like Natalie Portman's Jane Foster--as well as the Guardians of the Galaxy, some of whom can't say they're even in the movie yet (even though they definitely are.) This makes sense, of course, given that we last left Thor teaming up with the Guardians at the end of Avengers: Endgame, when he hitched a ride as Peter Quill and company decided to head out into space to look for the missing Gamora.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

While Sega is mostly known for the Sonic and Yakuza franchises these days, there was a time where the developer and publisher was also a fighting game powerhouse. During the 1990s, Sega launched the Virtua Fighter franchise, the first 3D fighting game that utilized the now standard polygon-based graphics and physics. The series would go on to have a dedicated following as it set the arcade scene and Sega built platforms like the Saturn and Dreamcast, carving out a fanbase that enjoyed its incredibly technical fighting mechanics. Even today, players still engage in competitive play with the previous entry, 2012's Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, being a fixture in fan-run tournaments. With the upcoming Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown, and its placement as a free game for PlayStation Plus members at launch on June 1, the fighting game franchise will be making a comeback in a big way. Before its release, we spent some time getting reacquainted with the game's uncompromisingly technical combat mechanics, which still manages to give way to satisfying and thrilling matches when you nail the right flow. With VF5's new look and refined combat mechanics--now running on the Dragon Engine, which powers the recent entries in the Yakuza series--Ultimate Showdown brings the franchise back in serious style. Before the reveal of Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown, we had a brief interview with chief producer Seiji Aoki about returning to Sega's original 3D fighting game series.Editor's Note: This interview has been edited for clarity and readability.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Both editions of Minecraft, Bedrock and Java, will get part one of the Caves & Cliffs update on June 8, developer Mojang has confirmed. The latest patch--which includes new blocks and mobs--will be available on mobile devices, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.Three new mobs will be added with this update: the underwater creatures axolotls, the Minecraft Earth-exclusive glow squid, and goats. Though axolotls only attack Drowned, they're mostly harmless. The same goes for the glow squids. Goats, on the other hand, are the most aggressive of the three new mobs in Minecraft, headbutting players whenever possible. That goat is just looking for some trouble. On top of the three mobs, Caves & Cliffs brings some 91 new blocks to Minecraft. This includes amethyst, copper, and dripleaves, but Mojang said the rest "might be a bit trickier to discover." Players can switch to Creative mode to get immediate access to all of the new Minecraft content.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

If you're looking to visit the Zero Point, it's the glowing metal orb at the top of The Spire, located in the very center of the map. You may recall The Foundation is currently trapped inside.Crafting pistols is something you've been doing all season, most likely, but follow our weapon crafting guide if you're stuck. The Spire Guardians are located at any of the six mini-spires. One resides at each of the extremities of the orange parts of the map. They put up a good fight, so be careful and maybe bring a friend or three. Hunting predators (wolves and raptors), taming boar, and performing a chicken glide are all neatly addressed in our Fortnite Season 6 animal guide. Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
