What started out as an April Fools joke is now a full-fledged game. Inkle Studios, the creators of 80 Days, have surprise released Overboard, a visual novel "whodunnit where you're the one whodunnit." In a press release, Inkle describes Overboard as "80 Days meets Agatha Christie with a wicked twist," the murder mystery is available now on PC, Switch, and Apple devices. While the game's release comes as quite the surprise, news of Overboard actually first surfaced back in April, when Inkle co-founder and narrative director Jon Ingold joked about the studio releasing a game about a "multiple murderer who hate dolphins and talks to God."Gallery In Overboard you take on the role of Mrs. Veronica Villensey, a very recently widowed starlet and heiress who has eight hours to cover her tracks and frame someone else for the murder of her husband. While pinning the blame on someone else is no easy feat, there are plenty of ways to go around it, with the press release stating the game is "designed for multiple playthroughs with an enormous amount of variety and consequence." Apart from antagonistic dolphins, the game features a cast of colorful characters that move around in real time, each with their own secrets you can discover and use against them. According to Inkle, "anyone could be a witness, [and] anyone could be the next victim."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Ubisoft has released a hotfix for Assassin's Creed Valhalla which addresses a pesky issue that players may have faced playing the Wrath of the Druids DLC expansion: a buggy boss that wouldn't take damage. The full patch notes also list tweaks to the settings connected to the optional Avenge sidequests. Thanks to the hotfix, you should no longer get the bug that prevents you from being able to damage the boss in the DLC's Into the Fog main questline. So now when you're confronted with the Puca, it should no longer approach you as an invincible monster.Additionally, Avenge quests--optional online activities that mark enemies who killed other players, allowing you to avenge their death for a reward--should now pop up a bit more frequently. The hotfix tweaks the settings in the backend of Valhalla so that you'll run into Avenge quests more often, both in Wrath of the Druids' Ireland as well as the main game's England.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Prime Day is Amazon's biggest sale of the year, rivaling Black Friday at this point, and the company is already drumming up hype for Prime Day 2021 with a heavy slate of early Prime Day deals. But while there will undoubtedly be plenty of game deals and gaming accessories on sale, consoles are a big question mark this year, especially the PlayStation 5. Discounts are out of the question, of course, but many gamers are still trying to get their hands on the PS5 at all, leaving one question looming over this year's big sale: Will Amazon restock the PS5 on Prime Day?Anyone who's been trying to buy a PS5 over the past seven months is all too familiar with the endlessly frustrating restock situation. Most retailers aren't selling them in brick-and-mortar stores at all, and online restocks disappear seemingly in a matter of seconds. PS5 restocks are sporadic and aren't usually announced ahead of time, and an entire Twitter culture has sprung up around the demand for the console, with accounts tracking restocks in real time. But compared to its competitors, Amazon has been largely absent from the PS5 restock conversation, as the console has only popped up there a handful of times since launch. So it's no surprise people may be wondering whether Amazon is gearing up for a big PS5 restock on Prime Day.Will there be a PS5 restock on Prime Day?Unfortunately, no PS5 restock has been confirmed for Amazon Prime Day. In fact, Amazon hasn't commented on the PS5 stock situation at all, and the few restocks that have happened weren't announced by Amazon ahead of time. The listings for the PS5 and PS5 Digital have a message that reads, "Current unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

It's rare to see a Legend of Zelda game receive a direct sequel, but Nintendo is doing just that for Breath of the Wild. During E3 2019, the company announced it is developing a follow-up to the Switch launch game, and since then, the still-unnamed sequel has been one of the system's most hotly anticipated releases.Despite the anticipation surrounding it, there's been very little in the way of concrete news about the Breath of the Wild sequel since it was first revealed, but that is likely to change very soon. Back in February, Nintendo said it planned to share more information about the game later this year--and with E3 2021 just around the corner now, there's a good chance we may see more of the game this month. While there are still many question marks around the Breath of the Wild sequel, here's a roundup of everything we know about the anticipated follow-up so far.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

E3 2021 is coming up very soon, and one of the companies confirmed to be holding a press conference is Devolver Digital. Coming on June 12, the stream will no doubt include some game announcements. But if Devolver stays true to form, it'll also probably incorporate a whole lot of nonsense.Devolver Press Conference Stream TimeIn May, Devolver put out a vague tweet stating that it had made plans for E3 and that it would do something "probably" on June 12. That's (probably) meant to be humorous; we have no reason to doubt that date. June 12 is the first day of E3 2021's digital show; Devolver isn't an official E3 2021 participant, but it appears to be kicking off its own show to take advantage of the rest of the action happening that week.E3 plans have been made. — Devolver Digital (@devolverdigital) May 5, 2021This is a familiar Devolver move; back in pre-pandemic times when E3 was held in-person, the company would set up an area in a parking lot across from the LA Convention Center. Devolver's partner developers would show off their in-progress games to media, generally in camper trailers.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

After reaching its Kickstarter goal of €18,000 (about $22,000 USD) within 24 hours, Elementallis has managed to surpass nearly all of its stretch goals too. The Kickstarter for this Legend of Zelda-like dungeon crawler currently sits at just over $100,000 with under 48 hours left in its campaign.A 2D top-down adventure game, Elementallis sees you play as a young boy who one day inadvertently disrupts the natural balance of the elements that govern the world: fire, nature, wind, earth, water, ice, and lightning. Now, alongside your trusty elemental, you need to set things right. On the game's Kickstarter page, Elementallis is described as "a story about growth and overcoming guilt."In Elementallis, you'll travel throughout a world composed of separate biomes, each of which hides a dungeon. Discovering and overcoming these dungeons unlocks new elements for your elemental, giving you new ways to engage in the game's combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving. For example, fire can be used to burn enemies away or brighten up dark places. Elements can be combined as well--you can use water to douse a tough enemy and then shock them for extra damage with lightning, for instance.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
