Following on from the success of the ID@Xbox Summer Game Fest Demo last year, Microsoft is once again partnering up with the Summer Game Fest to help showcase over 40 games next week exclusively on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S starting on June 15. Many big independent titles, such as Tunic, Lake, Sable, and more will be available to play as bite-sized experiences ahead of their respective launches. The Xbox Wire post stresses that these demos aren't like many that you can find on the Xbox Store today. Instead, they're meant to represent something akin to a show-floor demo that you'd typically find around E3; short, vertical slices that give you a good idea of a game but might still be far from what the final product represents. Some of the games receiving demos might be close to release while others might still be months or years away, so it's good to keep that in mind. That said, there are some great titles coming to the program next week. Sable, the eye-catching, desert-faring adventure had its release date announced during the Summer Game Fest kickoff presentation, but you can give it a go next week for an early taste. Tunic, the Zelda-like adventure, will similarly be present, as well as the narrative adventure Lake, base-building survival game The Riftbreaker, turn-based adventure game Echo Generation, and more. Microsoft says it will release a full list soon.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Animal Crossing: New Horizons lifted some of the limits imposed by its predecessors by letting players place items outside for the first time. However, that wasn't enough for one player, who found a new, inventive way to decorate in the game by placing items in the middle of large tables.Typically, if you place an item on a 2x2 table in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, it will be placed on one of the corners rather than in the middle. The game's mechanics don't let you push the item to the center either, so for round tables, the item is always hanging off the edge. One player (via GamesRadar) found that by using a glitch, they could circumvent that limitation. Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Laurence Fishburne will once again don the crown of the Bowery King in John Wick: Chapter 4, the actor revealed in a new interview with Collider."I should be going to Berlin within another couple months or so," Fishburne said of the film."I read the [John Wick: Chapter 4] script, it's really, really cool," the actor said. "As much as it's the same world as the other three films, it's just deeper. It's much deeper in terms of the code of the assassin and the relationship that he has with one character in particular, who I think Mr. Watanabe is playing, is really the heart and soul of it."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The She-Hulk series in the works at Disney+ will feature Jameela Jamil in a major role, according to a report from Variety.According to the report, Jamil will play Titania, a super-strong villain and frequent adversary of She-Hulk. Marvel Studios have not yet officially revealed any details of the character. In the comics, Titania's real name is Mary MacPherran, and she received her super strength through a mutation provided by Doctor Doom. Doom hasn't yet been introduced in the MCU, so the character will likely receive her powers through some other method. The She-Hulk series will star Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, cousin of Bruce Banner. A blood transfusion from Banner imbues her with the same gamma-irradiated Hulk powers as her cousin. While Bruce has historically been unable to control his transformation and lost his world-class intelligence to do so, Walters can transform at will and retains her full mental faculties when doing so. In the comics, Walters eventually decides to live as She-Hulk full time. Walters is a lawyer in the comics, dealing specifically with super-powered beings as her specialty. As of Avengers: Endgame, Bruce has already taken this step. It's unknown at this time whether the character will decide to return to his human form or if they'll take other steps to differentiate the two Hulk characters.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

When construction began in early 2019 at the Jurassic World area within Universal Studios Orlando's Islands of Adventure theme park, nobody was quite sure what was going on. After all, Universal Studios Hollywood had completely re-themed its Jurassic Park area to match the new series of films. That wasn't to be the case for Islands of Adventure, though. Instead, the new VelociCoaster attraction preserves the iconic land, while connecting it to the modern franchise."It's amazing that here at Islands of Adventure you can experience both Jurassic Park and Jurassic World, especially knowing where the future of the Jurassic World franchise is going," Universal Orlando Resort show producer Shelby Honea told GameSpot. "The filmmakers really see it as one big timeline. That was something that [Jurassic World director] Colin [Trevorrow] and [producer] Frank [Marshall] really emphasized to us. They don't see it as Jurassic Park or Jurassic World, they see it as Jurassic."With that in mind, Universal's creative team built a roller coaster that feels like it was pulled right out of the Jurassic World films and found a way to integrate it into the existing Jurassic Park area without overpowering it or taking away from the iconic sights fans of the area care about most--namely the Discovery Center that's based on the one from the first Jurassic Park film and can be seen from around Islands of Adventure.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Final Fantasy VII Remake finally has its PlayStation 5 upgrade with Intergrade, and along with the graphical boost and new photo mode, it also packs a new episode in the game's story. Centering on Yuffie Kisaragi, a Final Fantasy VII character who hadn't yet appeared in the Remake, the new Intermission episode fills in some gaps in the middle of Remake's story, while showing what other members of the FF7 team were up to during the game. The Intergrade addition spans two new chapters and includes its own new Trophies and some side content. But how long is it to finish? If you're expecting a substantial addition, you might be disappointed--we managed to knock out Yuffie's episode in a little over six hours, which included doing most of the side content the DLC has to offer. If you're sticking to the critical path, you can probably expect to finish it in about five hours; maybe a little more or less, depending on your proficiency with Yuffie's unique brand of combat. For players who want to finish everything the DLC has to offer, though, you can probably squeeze quite a bit more time out of the DLC. In addition to the main story across the two chapters, you'll also find several minigame-type experiences that will challenge your combat prowess and tactical skills. Those include a new version of Whack-A-Box, the box-smashing minigame in Remake, and a new virtual reality battle from Chadley, the kid in the Sector 7 Slums who trades summon materia for successful battles against the summoned creatures. You'll also be able to fight new battles in the Combat Simulator found in Shinra Tower, if you're looking for more challenges.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The world is at war in the next installment of DICE's Battlefield franchise, but the series isn't going back to the early 20th Century with its next installment. Instead, it's projecting into the near future with Battlefield 2042, a multiplayer-focused entry that's imagining a future for us that's not particularly bright.Electronic Arts and DICE gave GameSpot an early look at Battlefield 2042 with a big rundown of some of what we can expect from the game and a chance to check out the game's reveal trailer. First and foremost, DICE is foregoing a single-player campaign for Battlefield 2042--instead, the developer says, it's focusing on "what it does best" with multiplayer. But that doesn't mean there's no narrative driving the conflict at the heart of the game. Instead, it's maybe a little too close to home, imagining a world 20 years from now that's been thrown into turmoil by real-world issues like climate change. And it looks like DICE will still find ways to deliver story through its multiplayer gameplay, albeit in a new, as-yet-unclear way.Battlefield 2042 puts you in the role of a "No-Pat," a person from one of the many countries that has collapsed as climate change worsens, resources dwindle, and governments fail. No-Pats, or non-patriated people, have no country of their own, with Battlefield 2042 imagining a worldwide refugee crisis creating a whole lot of conflict itself. The No-Pat people come from all walks of life, but just as farmers, doctors, engineers, and factory workers are displaced by the global problems, so are soldiers--and without a country to fight for, they're also searching for a way to make a future in the world.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
