Xbox has announced their Honey-I-Shrunk-The-Kid-esque survival game, Grounded, is getting a free update packed with features fans have been asking for, features like... sitting. The ability to plop yourself on the ground, adopt pets, and build your own castle is coming with the free Shroom and Doom update, which hits both Xbox and PC on June 30.In addition to these more light-hearted additions, the update comes with a brand-new boss: the Broodmother. While the massive and highly deadly spider was previously in the game, the new and improved Broodmother has undergone a pretty significant reworking and is now more frightening than ever before.On the bright side, taking on the Broodmother now has an added bonus: helping you unlock one of those coveted achievements. Microsoft gave us a look at the acclaimed Microsoft Flight Simulator running on Xbox Series X during its E3 2021 showcase. Previously unavailable outside of PC, the Xbox Series X version was captured at 4K resolution and looks to be just as stunning.Alongside commercial planes, smaller propeller planes and bi-planes were shown during the teaser, as well as multiple gorgeous natural landmarks, like snow-covered mountains and bright islands. The level of detail seen in the PC version is extremely impressive, with many bespoke areas alongside zones created via map data.Microsoft Flight Simulator will release for Xbox Series X|S on July 27, and it will be included the same day on Xbox Game Pass. A platform not mentioned was Xbox One, but it's unclear if the game is going to straight-up skip that platform or if it's just not coming out at the same time. The game's high fidelity and system requirements on PC would seemingly make it difficult to run on the older platform without major concessions. A new trailer for Age of Empire IV, the latest in the long-running RTS franchise, was unveiled during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase.The trailer showed two new factions available to players at launch, the French and the Abbasid Dynasty. A new campaign, The 100 Years War, was also unveiled, and will star Joan of Arc as she leads the French against English forces in the famous conflict.Gameplay shown in the trailer includes city-building, land combat with elephants and horses as mounts. Microsoft closed out its Xbox/Bethesda E3 2021 presentation with the reveal of a brand-new title from Arkane, the studio behind Dishonored and Prey. The game is called Redfall, and it's coming exclusively to Xbox in 2022.Billed as an open-world co-op shooter, Redfall casts players as a ragtag team of heroes who are fighting to drive back a legion of vampires. The reveal trailer was reminiscent of Left 4 Dead and Back 4 Blood, showcasing the different characters working together to eliminate supernatural foes.According to the official Redfall website, the game "blends single- and multiplayer options seamlessly." You'll be able to venture off solo or with a team of three other players.
