It seems development on Rare's magic-filled maybe-adventure game Everwild has "restarted from scratch" following the appointment of a new creative director after veteran employee Simon Woodroffe resigned last year, according to a report from Video Games Chronicle.Citing anonymous sources familiar with Everwild's development, VGC reports that the game has been completely overhauled, with the design undergoing significant changes now that Gregg Mayles in charge.Under Mayles' leadership, Rare is now "optimistically" targeting a 2024 release window, indicating that it will be a long while before Everwild drops. GamesBeat reporter Jeff Grubb corroborated VGC's report on Twitter, saying that it "lines up" with what he's heard about the game and its development. And VGC's sources said that the team had a difficult time nailing down a vision, with a mandate from Rare's management requiring no combat instances in the game leading to development roadblocks.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

You'll also be able to play the game online with two-player co-op. Developer WayForward is light on other details at this point, but one of the characters in the art released so far looks an awful lot like Marian Kelly. For the uninitiated, Marian is the damsel in distress who gets punched in the stomach at the beginning of Double Dragon. She later appears in River City Girls running an accessory store called Swaggage. But, much more importantly, she's also sporting abs for days. That's a stomach that could break a few fists. Her arc from helpless damsel to face-punching heroine will be complete if she is indeed playable in River City Girls 2.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Razer has been making premium gaming laptops for a long time now, but all of them have been equipped with Intel processors. That's changing today with the Razer Blade 14, the company's first AMD-powered laptop that might also be the most powerful 14-inch gaming laptop on the market when it launches later this year. Razer Blade 14 (2021) Starts at $1,800 At the heart of the new Blade 14 is AMD's incredibly powerful Ryzen 9 5900HX processors, with 8 physical cores and 16 threads for content-intense work. The processor features a boost clock of 4.6GHz that will pair nicely with the trio of Nvidia GPUs across the range, starting with the RTX 3060 and going all the way up to the RTX 3080. Razer says these GPUs will feature up to 100W of power, which is important given that many other laptops of this size limit power delivery to the same components, making them perform a little worse. This is achieved thanks to a new vapor chamber cooler that helps keep temperatures under control despite the thin chassis. Made of entirely CNC aluminum, the design of the Blade 14 hasn't changed much when compared to the rest of the line, but at just over 16mm thick it's an impressive engineering feat. Depending on your GPU choice you'll have either an FHD, 144Hz IPS display or a crisper QHD, 165Hz IPS panel in the small 14-inch body. Both will feature AMD FreeSync Premium support. See at Razer Each configuration comes with a 1TB SSD, which can easily be expanded later via the single M.2 slot; however, you will be stuck with the 16GB of DDR4-3200MHz RAM that is soldered onto the board. Wi-Fi 6E is included for some future-proofing as well as Bluetooth 5.2 support for low-latency peripherals.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Following up on its first monitor since 2019, Razer has revealed a new version of the Razer Raptor 27 in its E3 2021 keynote. The QHD IPS display sits within a 27-inch chassis that Razer has designed to look and feel far more luxurious than its competitors, with a price to match the premium build, too. Razer Raptor 27-Inch QHD Monitor $800 The Razer Raptor looks familiar from afar. It retains the sleek black chassis with the squared-off design, mimicking Apple's Pro XDR display or latest iMacs. The display has extremely slim bezels on the side with only a slit chin to fit the company's logo on at the bottom, which means you can easily set three up next to each other with only a slight space in-between them. The IPS panel provides 95% coverage of the DCI-P color space while also offering a 1440p resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, and support for AMD Premium FreeSync (with G-Sync certification too.) Razer also says this is the first THX-certified monitor, but doesn't detail what that means in terms of performance. See at Razer Those specs are all on par for a premium gaming monitor today, but Razer's design takes things further. The back is adorned in a soft-touch fabric instead of cold, milled aluminum, and the Raptor retains the incredibly useful cable management system at the back to keep your setup looking tidy. The stand offers tilt and height adjustment, with the rim of the base featuring RBG that can be synchronized with other Razer peripherals using Razer's Chroma software. The monitor is VESA compatible too, but you'll need to spend $100 more on an adapter from Razer if you're looking to mount this on a monitor arm.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Batman has, canonically speaking, had sex. He has a son, and he was at least once engaged to Catwoman. But there are limitations, and the creators of the Harley Quinn animated series on HBO Max ran into that barrier according to a new interview with executive producer Justin Halpern with Variety."It's incredibly gratifying and free to be using characters that are considered villains because you just have so much more leeway," Halpern said. "A perfect example of this is in the third season of Harley [when] we had a moment where Batman was going down on Catwoman. And DC was like, 'You can't do that. You absolutely cannot do that.' They're like, 'Heroes don't do that.'"So Halpern and his team shot back, asking if "heroes are just selfish lovers."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

After years and years of waiting, 343 Industries finally exhibited Halo Infinite's multiplayer during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase at E3 2021 and then immediately followed it up with an extended vidoc from the developers that revealed even more. Multiplayer is the bread and butter of the Halo series, and with the multiplayer adopting a free-to-play model this time around, fans were naturally wondering if (and potentially worrying that) things might go amiss due to loot boxes, pay-to-win, and other nasty elements. But from what I've seen and heard so far, 343 has laid those concerns to rest and I couldn't be more excited about what Halo Infinite will have to offer later this year.Starting with the basics of its gameplay, Halo Infinite brings back the tried-and-true Arena mode of 4v4 multiplayer and complements it with a bigger-than-ever Big Team Battle mode that now supports 24-player matches. From what we've seen so far, there appears to be a good variety of unique multiplayer maps in a variety of settings that cater to any number of different playstyles. In the vidoc, 343 said it will have more maps and modes to come over time, and I'm eager to see what else 343 has cooking to mix things up in an unexpected way, similar to the MOBA-style Warzone mode for Halo 5.A big takeaway from the vidoc is that 343 is aiming to support Halo Infinite multiplayer not only for months to come after launch, but years, similarly to The Master Chief Collection. It's new and exciting to think about Halo becoming more of a platform than a game, and it opens up a number of possibilities for where it might be headed in the future. Now, we still don't know all the specifics--and no one outside 343 has actually played the game yet--but 343 is saying all the right things about Halo Infinite multiplayer, as I see it.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The Great Ace Attorney, the prequel in the Ace Attorney series coming on July 27, got a new gameplay look at Capcom's E3 2021 presentation. In a pair of trailers, Capcom promoted the upcoming adventure game, and detailed a few of the new tools you'll use to sniff out the truth from suspects and jurors: the Dance of Deduction, and Summation Examination. In the Dance of Deduction, protagonist Ryunosuke Naruhodo will team up with London investigator Herlock Sholmes to volley back and forth to unravel the truth behind the lies a witness is telling. We see one such scene in action, slightly spoiling the reveal that a character isn't who they seem to be.In Summation Examination, Ryunosuke can target individual jurors to pick apart their inconsistent logic, and even pit them against each other to prolong the trial. That means you'll be working to slowly convince six different people to your line of thinking, all of whom may be bringing their own perspectives and biases to the court.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
