The Jungle Cruise is an iconic ride at California's Disneyland. In fact, it's one of the park's original attractions, dating back to opening day on July 17, 1955. Now, as it celebrates its 66th birthday, the ride is relaunching on July 16 with a massive makeover just as a Jungle Cruise movie is set to hit theaters and Disney+ premiere access. The new Jungle Cruise isn't necessarily inspired by the film, though there are nods to it for fans to check out. Instead, Walt Disney Imagineering has given the ride a series of upgrades, implementing a storyline, several new scenes, an army of new animals causing some serious chaos, and the removal of certain characters that were culturally insensitive--notably the spear-carrying "natives" and Trader Sam.The new ride experience starts as you walk up to it. An updated sign features boat oars in place of the old spears. From there, guests move into the queue, which not only includes Easter eggs from the Jungle Cruise movie (keep an eye out for costume items worn by Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt in the film) but also introduces the new lore of the ride.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

If you watch comic book movies at all, chances are you've seen dozens of interviews with stars of the dozens of Marvel Studios films and noticed how tight-lipped they are (except Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo). Even the people writing the films are often kept in the dark about certain this, revealed Black Widow writer Eric Pearson in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter. Spoilers follow for Black Widow's post-credits sequence. As with so many other Marvel Studios films, Black Widow ends with a post-credits sequence that drops clues for what's next in the MCU. In a scene set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson)'s adoptive sister Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) mourns her sister at her grave site, only for her quiet moment to be interrupted by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis Dreyfuss) blowing her nose to cartoonish effect. Val then hands Yelena the photo of her next target: Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye."I felt bad," Person said. "They told me I got to [write the post-credits scene], so I was really excited I got to do a lot to shape Valentina's personality, but they told me 'and then at the end, this is the target.' They were like, 'Don't worry about it. You don't have to know that.' I was like, 'Who am I screwing over? Something is going on! I don't have an answer for this!'"Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Square Enix has suggested that it could one day return to the world of Final Fantasy X with a Final Fantasy X-3 sequel. In a new interview with Famitsu as reported by Japanese blog Ryukutya via RPGSite, several key members of Final Fantasy X commented on how the project even has a plot written by Kazushige Nojima, who served as one of the scenario writers on the 2001 game."If we are to make X-3, we somehow have a synopsis written by Nojima-san," character designer Tetsuya Nomura explained. "It's sleeping right now, but the plot itself does exist."As RPGSite also noted, a recent audio play could be used as another potential storyline springboard. Taking place a year after the events of Final Fantasy X-2 and focused on two new characters called Chuami and Kurgum, Final Fantasy X Will reunited several of the original game's voice actors and dealt with the return of Final Fantasy X's main antagonist, Sin.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Following indications that the cracked version of Resident Evil Village on PC was offering players a better experience than paying customers, a report into the issue has proved that the removal of DRM from the game drastically improves overall performance.Digital Foundry conducted tests on both the retail and cracked versions of Capcom's latest sequel, coming away with the conclusion that the game's anti-piracy features are currently behind the poor performance of the game on PC. Since launch, Resident Evil Village has exhibited issues with frametimes, causing large stutters during normal gameplay sequences such as shooting. The issues are worse in certain scenarios, such as the early encounter with Lady Dimitrescu's daughters, which can plummet the frame rate from the high 100s all the way down to the low 30s.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

A YouTuber named Victorstk says that he's fixed his Joy-Con drift permanently, and now you can too. In a lengthy video, Victorstk (also known as VK) discusses many of the suspected causes for the joystick drift that has impacted the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers on a massive scale, noting that his alleged fix is the only one that seems to work permanently. While VK's video is well put-together, as usual with these sort of claims, it's best to regard them with a grain of salt, or perhaps a spoonful. Still, VK's fix--which is placing a 1 mm piece of paper or card stock on top of one area of the Joy-Con after taking it apart--is substantially less invasive than sending the Joy-Con to Nintendo, or attempting to replace the stick yourself.VK's analysis concludes that the Joy-Con drift is caused by the metal casing that holds the stick slowly loosening over time due to use, which makes the metal prongs lose contact with the graphite pads that detect the input.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

WizKids has been taking recognizable items and characters from the world of Dungeons & Dragons and bringing them to life in collectible form. Earlier this year, WizKids debuted the Hand and Eye of Vecna--familiar magical items from D&D. Now, WizKids is making collectibles of Efreeti and the Wand of Orcus.First is an infamous character familiar to Advanced D&D players, a statue of Efreeti. Modeled after its appearance on the Dungeon's Master guide, the statue stands at 12 inches tall and features a pose ripped from the cover and brought into your home. Check out some image renderings below, and obviously, this may not be what the final product looks like when it arrives this November for $250.Gallery "It's a really good 'Goldilocks' size for a statue like this--large enough to be well-detailed and have presence on a display shelf, but not so big that it's hard to find a home for," explained WizKids creative producer Mat Smith. "Matching the style of the artwork and how the anatomy was depicted did offer some interesting challenges."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

A major new update for Creative Assembly's Total War: Warhammer 2 is here, bringing with it new DLC, quality-of-life-improvements, balance changes, and more. Unfortunately, the latest update may also make current saved campaign games unplayable. In a new post outlining all the changes, Creative Assembly warns the update will make currently installed mods unstable and may affect current campaigns. Thankfully, there is a workaround. Players can opt-in for a beta of the earlier 1.11.1 version of the game to finish any campaign saves. When players are ready to update to the latest version, they simply need to opt-out of the beta client and download the game's latest updates. Here's the exact process for enabling the beta:In your Steam games library, right-click Total War: Warhammer 2 and select PropertiesIn the Properties window, select the Betas tabSelect warhammerii_1.11.1 from the listTotal War: Warhammer 2 will now update to the beta versionIt's unclear what precisely makes it so older campaign saves are incompatible with Total War: Warhammer 2's latest update, but there are certainly a huge list of changes to factor in. The Hammers & Headstones update, as it's called, brings substantial updates to the Beastmen and Dwarf factions and campaigns, while also making room for two new Lords that will appear in-game under AI control regardless if players have purchased the new The Silence and The Fury DLC or not. Combined with new free DLC like the Dwarf Lord Thorek Ironbrow, as well as a lengthy list of bug fixes and balance changes, there is plenty for Total War: Warhammer 2 fans to sink their teeth into.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

A mod that will add the RMS Titanic to the PC version of Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven has been in development for 15 years. The project's lead developer, Robin Bongaarts--who is also a maritime engineer from the Netherlands--told Eurogamer in a feature that he started working on the project in September 2006.Bongaarts says that he has a "nerd-like interest" in the Titanic and other massive ocean liners of the time, such as the Titanic's sister ship, the RMS Olympic. He decided to add the ship to Mafia after he heard that the game was relatively easy to mod. While he expected the project to take him only three months, it actually took him four years to actually learn the skills he needed to render the ship with the level of detail he wanted. The mod will include fully-voiced acted missions that will provide a reason for protagonist Thomas Angelo to go onto the ship--making sure that an expensive car isn't stolen by a rival mob boss. The mod will also include the famous sinking of the Titanic, because of course it will. According to Bongaarts, the mod will be released in four different parts, with the first part coming out sometime later this year, or perhaps afterward. Check out the project's Moddb page for more information.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Warner Bros. has released a new behind-the-scenes featurette for The Suicide Squad in which director James Gunn and members of the cast hype the superhero film and tease more of what to expect from it.In particular, writer-director James Gunn said The Suicide Squad is the biggest movie he's ever made and that one of his goals was to film most of it using practical effects--and he achieved this. In the video, you can get a glimpse at the great lengths the crew went to film with practical effects and in real locations like Panama as opposed to relying too heavily on CG. In one sequence, we see a water scene with camera operators submerged. "You're hearing the explosions, you're smelling the gunpowder, and that ups the ante," Harley actress Margot Robbie says in the video.Of course, the movie does use a number of visual effects shots, and Sylvester Stallone's entire King Shark character is completely CG. In a recent interview, Suicide Squad director James Gunn has opened up to The New York Times about--among many other things--the 2018 Twitter controversy that got him temporarily fired from Marvel. The article comes in advance of the upcoming Suicide Squad movie, which is finally due in theaters and on HBO Max on August 6.As The New York Time article recounts, Gunn discovered one day in July 2018 that he was trending on Twitter--and not for good reasons. Internet sleuths had surfaced a series of tweets from The Guardian of the Galaxy filmmaker, which included several deliberately crude and offensive jokes or comments about a number of sensitive topics including the Holocaust, 9/11, AIDS, pedophlia, and rape. But, Gunn says, it was not immediately clear whether there would be repercussions for these tweets coming to light."I called Kevin [Feige, Marvel Studios president] the morning it was going on, and I said, 'Is this a big deal?'" said Gunn. "He goes, 'I don't know.' That was a moment. I was like, 'You don't know?'"Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
