Another Wii U game is coming to Nintendo Switch. As detailed in Nintendo's E3 showcase, Fatal Frame: The Maiden of Black Water is coming later this year. The presentation did not detail a release date.Like other games in the Fatal Frame franchise, Maiden of Black Water is a horror adventure game that centers around using your camera. Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods Part 1--the first piece of a two-part standalone expansion--is now available on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo announced during its E3 2021 Direct presentation.The Ancient Gods Part 1 picks up shortly after Doom Eternal's conclusion, with the Doom Slayer being recruited to reclaim Urdak from the demons following Hell's invasion. As part of Nintendo's E3 2021 briefing, the company showed more of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's sequel and confirmed it's expected to release in 2022.New footage of the untitled Breath of the Wild sequel was also released during the show, and producer Eiji Aonuma confirmed that some of the game takes place in the sky. "Return to Hyrule, and the skies above," Nintendo said as part of E3. The trailer below may contain further clues about what to expect from the much-anticipated sequel. Danganronpa Decadence, a four-game Danganronpa collection, is coming to Nintendo Switch this year, and it will include a new, standalone version of a minigame from Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony. The collection was announced during Nintendo's E3 2021 Direct presentation.All four games, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair and Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony, and Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp, will be sold together as a Switch-exclusive physical bundle. The Advance Wars series is coming to Nintendo Switch later this year. Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp releases on the hybrid console on December 3, and it's a remake of the first two classic Advance Wars titles for Game Boy Advance.Nintendo says that both Advance Wars games have been "reimagined and rebuilt from the ground up" for Switch, featuring enhanced graphics and controls. The game also features the full campaigns from both titles as well as a local Versus mode for up to four players. There will also be online play for four players.The new version's cartoony visual style is emphasized even more by its setting presentation, which makes it look like each battlefield is part of a board game. It looks distinct from the recent Fire Emblem games, which have leaned heavily into an anime style. Nintendo has announced a new Game and Watch-inspired product in celebration of The Legend of Zelda's 35th anniversary. Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda bundles together three of the series' earliest games onto a small, portable console, which launches November 12.The Game & Watch system will ship with The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (which was recently remade for Nintendo Switch.) The console will also include a new version of Vermin that will star Link instead, as a nice nod to the classic game. Nintendo pulled back the curtain on Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity's first DLC expansion during its E3 2021 Direct presentation. Titled Pulse of the Ancients, the Age of Calamity DLC launches June 18 and adds a variety of new content to the game, including a new playable character.That player character is called the Battle-Tested Guardian, and it's one of the spider-like machines you might remember from Breath of the Wild. Pulse of the Ancients also adds two new weapon types, giving Link a flail and Zelda access to the motorcycle-like Master Cycle. This first DLC will also introduce a new difficulty level to the game: Apocalyptic.Pulse of the Ancients is the first of two DLC expansions coming to Age of Calamity. The second is titled Guardian of Remembrance and is slated to release sometime this November. It's an understatement to say that E3 2021 is different from years past. This year's show, an all-digital affair due to the coronavirus pandemic, is more like its old self than last year's outright cancellation, but it's still a far cry from the massive LA trade show fans have come to expect. But every cloud has a silver lining as the saying goes, and this year's smaller show has had an unexpected side-effect: Indies are getting a moment to shine.Part of this phenomenon is a product of which games are available for the press to try for themselves. As a physical event, E3 has typically revolved around huge booths swarmed with big AAA games from major publishers. Some would be reserved behind a velvet rope with a tightly scripted demo performed by a member of the studio, but many were expected to be on the show floor. This year, the AAA hands-on demos are few and far between.By comparison, indie devs appear eager to jump on the chance to put demos out. Xbox's Summer Game Fest partnership is putting up dozens of demos, many of them limited-time, with devs explicitly requesting feedback. These demos may be rough, as Microsoft warned in its announcement, but that's sort of the point: Indie developers are eager to hear feedback directly from the fans. World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic's first Arena season has officially begun, allowing players to test their might against other players in 2v2, 3v3, or 5v5 rated PvP.By competing in Arena, players can earn Arena points on a weekly basis based on their team's performance, which can then be cashed in to acquire powerful weapons and armor. Teams will need to complete at least 10 games to qualify for points in a given week, with an individual player needing to have participated in at least 30% of matches played that week in order to earn points. The top .5% of players will also earn a Swift Nether Drake Mount, which will only be available during the game's first Arena season.Arena mode was first introduced to World of Warcraft with the original Burning Crusade expansion in 2007, and has become a key activity in the game ever since.
