Capcom has announced Resident Evil, Resident Evil 0, and Resident Evil 4 are getting Nintendo Switch ports. All three ports are currently scheduled for 2019, but a specific release dates haven't been revealed yet. Capcom tweeted that more info is coming "soon."The original Resident Evil first released in 1996, and it went on to spawn an entire franchise of zombie-killing video games. Some, like the 2002 prequel Resident Evil 0, are also third-person survival horror games, while others are more action-centric or play out in first-person. 2005's Resident Evil 4 is widely considered as the best in the series, and received critical acclaim upon release. When Resident Evil first released, we gave it an 8.2/10 in our review, praising it for "the gorgeous, photorealistic, dilapidated rooms and abomination-filled corridors" and describing it as a "genuinely" scary experience. In our Resident Evil 0 review, we gave the prequel an 8/10, wishing the game had acknowledged all "the things that have made Resident Evil a nuisance to some" but enjoying the gameplay and story all the same. We awarded a 9.6/10 in our Resident Evil 4 review, assuring that the game would blow away anyone who's "entertained by any other mature-rated action game."While Switch owners may appreciate them, this certainly won't be the first time these games been ported to another platform. The original Resident Evil is available on Playstation, PC, and Nintendo DS. There's also an HD remaster for GameCube and Wii, as well as a remake for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, and PC. Resident Evil 0 is available on GameCube and Wii, with an HD remaster on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, and PC. Resident Evil 4 can be played on GameCube, PS2, PC, Wii, and mobile, with a HD remaster available for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, and PS3.The last new game in the main-line franchise was Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, which went first-person but retained the survival horror roots of the original game. A remake for Resident Evil 2 is in the works and scheduled to release for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on January 25 in 2019.Info from Gamespot.com

Treyarch has released another update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. This one balances Zombies mode and launches the Black Market across all platforms. At Black Ops 4's launch, Zombies was slightly unfair for anyone tackling the mode solo or in a team of two. This new update primarily makes the game mode a little bit easier for players who don't have a full team of four, but it also adjusts Elixirs that were either overpowered or underpowered. According to the update's patch notes, solo players and two-person teams will now earn experience more quickly, and last zombie bleed-out time will be twice as long. Hellhounds also won't spawn as often in Blood of the Dead and Classified during mixed rounds, and players will be able to use four unique Elixirs per round from now on.The update also makes the Black Market live across all platforms, so every Black Ops 4 player can now start earning the items offered in Operation: First Strike. The Black Market contains items specifically for multiplayer and Blackout, including signature weapons, gestures, outfits, calling cards, tags, stickers, and new characters. Starting October 27, a limited-time Halloween event will go live that offers cosmetic items with a "spooky seasonal" theme.Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 October 26 Update Patch NotesGeneralBlack MarketBlack Market and Operation: First Strike now live on all platforms.Resolved a delay in displaying Black Market reward images in the After Action Report.MiscellaneousGeneral stability fixes and improvements across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Blackout.ZombiesGameplayDoubled the bleed-out timer on the last zombie per round from 5 to 10 minutes.Increased the XP earn rate in solo and 2-player matches.Reduced frequency of Hellhounds that spawn on mixed rounds in Blood of the Dead and Classified.ElixirsIncreased maximum unique Elixir usage per round from 3 to 4.Decreased cooldown time on Common, Rare, Legendary, and Epic Elixirs.Decreased effective time on Aftertaste Elixir.Reduced effectiveness of Head Scan Elixir.Increased cooldown time on Classic Elixirs to balance increased last zombie bleed-out time.Adjusted cooldown for all Elixirs in Rush Mode.Corrected the Elixir cooldown reduction effect granted by the Time Slip Perk.ChallengesResolved an issue preventing players from completing the “Coming Through” Challenge.Resolved an issue where the “Up Close” and “Death Slider” Prestigious Challenges would reward the same Calling Card.MiscellaneousResolved a crash that occurred when triggering Brain Rot on underwater Zombies.MultiplayerMiscellaneousResolved an issue where joining a match after a round switch would record a Loss if your team lost the match.Create-a-ClassResolved an issue preventing the Reactive Camo for the GKS Damascus from properly unlocking.Resolved an issue allowing the Access Denied Camo for the Strife to display as brighter than intended.Info from Gamespot.com

In Red Dead Redemption 2, hunting is an important part of exploration and survival in the vast open world. In addition to finding food and other necessary supplies, you'll be able to use materials taken from fallen prey to craft outfits and talismans, which unlock special perks that amplify Arthur's main attributes. As you travel, you may even stumble upon an elusive animal that other explorers have rarely seen. Your first encounter with such a beast will be the Legendary Grizzly Bear, which can offer up a legendary bear pelt if you're able take it down. These Legendary Animals can be found across the many regions of the map and take some extra effort to hunt. While some of these are small in stature, there are many that tower in size over Arthur and are quite dangerous in a fight. But if you're able to take them out, you'll acquire the means to craft some of the game's most valuable accessories and outfits. These particular animals offer the rarest pelts and materials you can find, which can be turned in to the local Trappers and Fences--those shady, black market dealers offering up some of the rarest goods. But rest assured, any materials that can't fit in your bags will be sent straight to the respective merchants. In this feature, we're giving you all the details you need in order to track and hunt each of the game's Legendary Animals. If you want some extra tips for general survival and even fishing--which has its own set of Legendary Fish--be sure to check out our guides and features relating to each of Red Dead 2's most involved gameplay systems. Furthermore, be sure to check out our new weekly series QuickDraw, which focuses on the game's numerous gameplay features and along with a broader look on the impact of the Red Dead series.Table of Contents [hide]Legendary Bharati Grizzly BearLegendary BeaverLegendary Bighorn RamLegendary BoarLegendary BuckLegendary BullgatorLegendary CougarLegendary CoyoteLegendary ElkLegendary FoxLegendary Giaguaro PantherLegendary MooseLegendary Tatanka BisonLegendary White BisonLegendary WolfLegendary Bharati Grizzly BearLocation: During the Chapter 2 story mission Exit Pursued By A Bruised Ego, you'll encounter your first Legendary Animal. Capcom has released a new trailer for the Resident Evil 2 remake. The video showcases both protagonists, Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy, in their respective alternate costumes that come included in the Deluxe and Collector's editions of the game.Claire has a Military and Elza Walker outfit. Elza was the planned female protagonist for Resident Evil 1.5. However, when the game was ultimately scrapped, the motorcycle racer's backstory was reworked and used for Resident Evil 2's Claire. Meanwhile Leon only has one exclusive skin, the Arklay Sheriff. Both characters have a Noir costume, which can be paired with a Noir filter to give the game a classic vibe. All of Claire and Leon's costumes come included in Resident Evil 2 remake's special editions. In the Deluxe Edition, you also get an exclusive pistol and the option to swap the remake's soundtrack with the music of the original Resident Evil. In the Collector's Edition, the costumes come with everything in the Deluxe Edition plus a 12-inch Leon statue, an art book, and R.P.D. renovation blueprints. The Collector's Edition is exclusive to GameStop and comes packaged in a special R.P.D. item box. Both the editions are available for pre-order.The Resident Evil 2 remake releases on January 25, 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The remake will make slight alterations to the original Resident Evil 2's formula, but will remain true to the gaming classic. Back in 1998, we gave Resident Evil 2 a 8.9/10 in our review, commending it as a game with "unique camera angles, storyline, graphics, sound effects, and music" that "surpasses its predecessor in nearly every aspect of gameplay..."Info from Gamespot.com

Riding on horseback is the primary of getting around in Red Dead Redemption 2's massive world. Before long, you'll find yourself rearing up a multitude of horses in search of the one that'll get you around the quickest. With not much in the way of fast travel, having a horse that's not only fast but can withstand the burdens of exploration is essential. While the question of which horse is the best comes down to preference, there are a few breeds that can be classified as some of the top candidates. Below we discuss these breeds and highlight their locations. If you're looking for a more in-depth guide on horse care and how to boost your trusty steed's performance while making bank along the way, we've got one in the hopper coming soon, so be sure to check back often to get all the information on how to be a proper horse trainer.Be mindful that there are some light location spoilers below given how most of these horses can only be acquired later in the game. You should be good for the White-Maned Arabian breed, but be careful when looking at the details below if you want to steer clear of potential story bits. For more guides, you should check out our features highlighting all the tips you should know before playing and things the game doesn't tell you. Though, we also have guides on more specific subjects, like gun customization and money making. Be sure to read our Red Dead 2 review if you haven't already. And if you want to have some extra fun, be sure to read our feature detailing the game's cheat codes. What Are The Best Breeds? As stated, there is no singular "best horse" in the game. There are only strong breeds that fair much better than the standard breeds you encounter early on. Speaking on the different types: the Arabian, Turkoman, and Missouri Fox Trotter breeds stand out as the most well-rounded and top-tier. Keep in mind that the stats below reflect the horse when you find it and not at its top condition.ArabianArabian breed horses have some of the best stats overall. There are three coat types in total, each with their own unique statistics: White, Black, and Rose Grey Bay.White-Maned ArabianThe White-Maned Arabian can only be found in the wild, which makes it possible to find relatively early on. This snow-white beauty wanders around the edges of Lake Isabella. It's quite difficult to tame, so you're going to need to be persistent in following it around and calming it down enough before you can approach it.Compared to other Arabian horses, it has the lowest base Health and Stamina stats--though, it's still much higher than any of the more standard horse breeds. A worthy compromise for a fantastic horse you can catch and tame so early in the game. Just watch out for the wolves who hang out nearby.SpeedAccelerationHandlingType66EliteSuperiorBlack ArabianThe Black-Maned Arabian horse can be purchased at the Saint Denis Stable during Chapter 4. It has most the well-rounded stats of the Arabian Horses with decent Health and Stamina.SpeedAccelerationHandlingType66EliteSuperiorRose Grey Bay-Maned ArabianThe Rose Grey Bay-Maned Arabian can only be bought at the Blackwater Stable during the Epilogue section of the game. It has the highest Health and Stamina of the three Arabian horses.SpeedAccelerationHandlingType66EliteSuperiorTurkomanTurkoman breed horses make up their lacking acceleration with solid speed, average handling, and a high Health pool. As a cross between War and Racing breeds, they're well worth owning for riders who want a trusty steed who can withstand damage without sacrificing speed. All three Turkoman breeds have the same exact stats, which are reflected below along with a brief breakdown of where you can purchase them and when.SpeedAccelerationHandlingType65StandardRace / WarGold Turkoman: Sold at the Saint Denis Stable during Chapter 4.Dark Bay Turkoman: Sold at the Blackwater Stable during the Epilogue.Silver Turkoman: Sold at the Tumbleweed Stable during the Epilogue.Missouri Fox TrotterThe Missouri Fox Trotter balances the best base speed of all the horse breeds with solid Health and high Stamina. As a mix between the Race and Work breeds, the Missouri Fox Trotter comes highly recommended for those who want all of the perks and benefits of a fast riding horse with resilient Stamina. Like the Turkoman breed, all of the Missouri Fox Trotter coats have the same exact stats, which are reflected below along with a brief breakdown of where you can purchase them and when.SpeedAccelerationHandlingType75StandardRace / WorkAmber Champagne: Sold at Scarlett Meadows Stable during Chapter 4.Silver Dapple Pinto: Sold at Blackwater Stable during the Epilogue.Info from Gamespot.com

Fallout 76 is a very different kind of Fallout game, with a new focus on multiplayer across a massive open world. Bethesda is putting it through its paces with a beta test releasing very soon, and you can join in to help explore the wastes and gather technical feedback before its official launch. However, while pre-ordering is your ticket to the beta, it won't necessarily get you in quickly. Here's everything to know about the beta. When does the beta start? The beta for Fallout 76 began on October 23 on Xbox One, and then expand to PC and PlayStation 4 the following week on October 30. Pre-loading for the Xbox One version is now available. Upcoming sessions are planned for October 27 and 28, as detailed in our Fallout 76 beta schedule guide.Even if you've received a code, though, you may not necessarily be invited to the first wave. Bethesda plans to start small to stress test the game and expand slowly, so your actual start date may vary.A separate pre-beta stress test also took place starting on October 13. That one was exclusive to Xbox One Insiders who have pre-ordered the game, and even then fulfilling those criteria only entered them into the pool of possible participants. Players of this stress test were under NDA and unlike the beta, game progress was not saved. How long will the beta last?Bethesda has not given a specific end-date for the beta, but it has explained that the servers won't be available 24/7 during the beta period. The studio says it will be running "targeted time frames" to force interested players together at the same time, which in turn will mark a better technical test. The game may be available for 4-8 hours on any given day, with Bethesda making adjustments and fixes during the off periods. This process will repeat until a few days before launch on November 14.How do I get in?The beta will be available exclusively for those who pre-order the game across PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Digital pre-orders will be entered into the pool automatically, while physical pre-orders will receive a code to enter into the accounts page once the beta has gone live on your platform of choice. It's important to note that this code is not the beta code you enter to access the actual game download. Instead, the pre-order code is the one you enter into Bethesda's system to be put into the pool for code distribution. A separate code, which gives you access to the install, will follow at a later time as Bethesda rolls out its invites. In the meantime, you can be sure you're prepared by creating a free Bethesda.net login. Also, make sure you have an active Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus membership if you're playing on either console, since those will be required to access the online-only game.Is the beta the full game? The Fallout 76 beta is the full experience, and Bethesda says it is currently planning to allow players to carry progress over into the full game. However, console players will need to redownload the launch version, whereas PC players will not need to download a new version upon launch. The beta will be 45 GB.How do I submit feedback?Bethesda is inviting feedback across its variety of social media channels. What else will I get for pre-ordering?Aside from beta access, pre-ordering will get you 500 Atoms--Fallout 76's in-game currency. Atoms allow you to purchase cosmetic items from the shop. Bethesda has indicated that Atoms will be plentiful, but as we haven't seen the shop or prices yet, it's hard to say just how far 500 Atoms will go.Info from Gamespot.com

The battle royale mode for Battlefield V will come next March, DICE has announced. A post on the official site detailed the post-launch roadmap, and announced that the "Firestorm" Battle Royale mode will come in March 2019.That's the third chapter of its planned content, to follow Chapter 1 (Overture) and Chapter 2 (Lightning Strikes). Overture will bring the tank-focused Panzerstorm map, a new War Story called The Last Tiger, and new vehicle customization features. It's coming roughly two weeks after launch. Then sometime between January and March, Lightning Strikes will add Combined Arms and Squad Conquest.Firestorm will support up to 64 players, divided into teams of four. It gets its name from a ring of fire that will close throughout the match, as players scrounge for weapons and fight to be the last team remaining. It's being developed by Criterion rather than DICE. We still don't know much about Firestorm on the whole, considering it wasn't part of the beta.Battle royale modes are popping up in more games recently. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Battlefield's chief competitor in the military shooter genre, launched with its own battle royale mode called Blackout.Battlefield V is coming on November 20, following a short delay out of October to respond to feedback from the beta. If you jump in early you can get a few bonus items.Info from Gamespot.com

Fortnite's Halloween event this year has kicked off in style with "Fortnitemares," an ongoing world event that offers special challenges and spooky cosmetic items. With the release of today's new update, the event is live across both the Battle Royale and Save the World modes, so no matter which flavor of Fortnite you prefer you can find something to do. Here's everything you need to know about the new event. What Is It?Fortnitemares is an ongoing event lasting from October 23-November 26, introduced in the patch update 6.20. It offers exclusive cosmetic items and special world events with new enemies, including lots to do across its two modes. In a special playlist in the the PvP mode Battle Royale, you'll face off against cube monsters that operate very similarly to the Save the World zombie-like creatures. The mysterious Cube spawned this legion of AI cube monsters, which will attack you if you get too close. Defeating them can get you some random loot and shield power. This is notably the first time the PvP mode has been invaded by AI enemies. Completing special challenges, some of which focus on defeating these AI enemies, can earn you a whole new type of cosmetic items and some special gear. There's also a limited-time weapon you can use; you can read about all of this in the patch notes.Separately, in the PvE Save the World mode, Hexsylvania returns with new story quests. Just logging onto Save the World during the Fortnitemares event will earn you some skins. Save the World isn't going free-to-play this year as previously planned, but founder's packs are currently half-priced.Fortnitemares Battle Royale ChallengesFortnitemare challenges are set to alternate every few days through the end of the event period, so you'll have to check back often to maximize your rewards. Currently the first set of challenges is live. Many are self-explanatory, but click below for more detailed guides on more complex challenges.Destroy Cube Monsters (200) -- 500 XPDeal damage with Assault Rifles or Pistols to Cube Monsters (5,000) -- 500 XPVisit a Corrupted Area in different matches (7) -- 500 XPDance at different Gargoyles (5) -- 500 XPNew Items And CosmeticsThe biggest new addition to Fortnitemares are the permanent rewards, including a whole new type of cosmetic. The centerpiece is the new Deadfire skin, a "reactive skin" that changes based upon your play in a given match that will cost you 2,000 V-Bucks. It's joined by the Shackled Stone Back Bling and Dark Shard pickaxe (1,200 V-Bucks), which are both "reactive cosmetics."Alongside this skin, Epic has also introduced the Shackled Stone Back Bling to go along with it, and the Dark Shard pickaxe can also be found in the in-game store. Both of these items are called "reactive cosmetics." The Deadfire skin is available for 2,000 V-Bucks, while the Dark Shard harvesting tool costs 1,200 V-Bucks.The 6.20 update also added a new Six Shooter weapon, and the ability to redeploy Gliders. Red Dead Redemption 2's release has come for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Those who prefer to play games on PC may be rewarded with their patience eventually, but as of now we have no indication that Red Dead 2 will ever come to PC. That doesn't mean there is no hope at all, though. So far the studio has given no official indication of a PC port incoming. There was some hope when a programmer seemingly outed a PC version online, but it remains unclear if that was merely a mistake. [Update: The latest glimmer of hope for PC fans comes via Rockstar Intel, which reports that the Red Dead 2 companion app includes references to PC in its code. It's possible these don't mean anything or are being misinterpreted, but it does bear noting.]The most recent Rockstar game, Grand Theft Auto V, did make the jump to PC after its initial console release. Following its original release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013, Rockstar released upgraded Playstation 4 and Xbox One ports the following year, and then a PC port in 2015. Those later ports were widely lauded for their improved technical underpinnings, and the PC version has enjoyed an active mod community.Red Dead Redemption 2 appears very similar to GTAV in key ways. It's a technical powerhouse that's already pushing the current console generation to its limit. While the Xbox One X came out ahead in a performance analysis, both it and the high-end PS4 Pro were said to be hitting the upper limits of their processing power. We may be on the verge of another console generation to debut in the next few years, so a port to those with some added bells and whistles could make sense. And if that happens, a PC port would be likely as well. Plus Red Dead 2 is already receiving positive reviews and helping Take-Two's stock price, so another shot in the arm from a port would be welcome for the company. Then again, Rockstar has been inconsistent with ports in general and PC support more specifically. The original Red Dead Redemption never made the trip to PC, and in fact is still only available on PS3 and Xbox 360--along with Xbox One, via backwards compatibility.Red Dead Redemption 2 could come to PC in a matter of years, but for the time being, your best bet is to saddle up on the current generation of consoles. If you need some help recalling the events of the first game, check out our story recap. Your console decision may come down to performance--keeping in mind that Xbox One X performed the best in a test, but PS4 has exclusive content for 30 days.Info from Gamespot.com

Red Dead Redemption 2 has released, and along with it comes the mobile companion app. The app links up with your copy of the game and helps you keep track of your location with an interactive map, along with a handful of other features so you can take the Old West with you around in your pocket. The map lets you set waypoints and track your position in real-time. Aside from that handy widget, you can also view the game journal, shop for clothing, check your game progress, and read the game manual. It also links up with Rockstar's Social Club. The app itself is free on both iOS and Android, but both versions offer a $10 in-app purchase of the official strategy guide. The social club integration may be a boon to your gang of outlaws when Red Dead Online launches in November.Perhaps most significantly, the companion app's code includes references to PC, according to Rockstar Intel. Whether this signals the development of Red Dead 2 for PC remains to be seen, but it does provide those hoping for that to happen with some small reason to get excited. If you're a no-good scoundrel in need of more creative methods of getting ahead in the world, check out our full list of known cheats. And keep in mind some of those side missions have a time limit and can expire if you don't get to them quickly enough. To get started on the right foot, check out our list of essential tips for beginners, and refresh yourself on the story from the first game. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a massive and ambitious game, and as noted in our review, it stands on its own even without knowing the details of John Marston's story."While Red Dead Redemption was mostly focused on John Marston's story, Red Dead 2 is about the entire Van der Linde gang--as a community, as an idea, and as the death rattle of the Wild West. It is about Arthur, too, but as the lens through which you view the gang, his very personal, very messy story supports a larger tale," wrote critic Kallie Plagge. "Some frustrating systems and a predictable mission structure end up serving that story well, though it does take patience to get through them and understand why. Red Dead Redemption 2 is an excellent prequel, but it's also an emotional, thought-provoking story in its own right, and it's a world that is hard to leave when it's done."Info from Gamespot.com

Red Dead Redemption 2 offers a bounty of goodies for pre-orders and its two special editions, but you'll have to wait before claiming many of them.
