Limited Run Games, a publisher associated with game developer Mighty Rabbit Studios, has announced that it is making a physical edition for Battle Chef Brigade. The acclaimed indie game will be made available in both its PS4 and Switch versions. Both physical editions will be made available on November 9 at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET / 3 PM GMT. As the name implies, Limited Run Games only makes a certain amount of official physical editions for previously digital-only titles. So once every copy of the physical versions of Battle Chef Brigade is sold out, they are gone for good. Limited Run Games never restocks.Released in 2017, Battle Chef Brigade mixes together brawler and puzzle gameplay. You play as Mina, a young woman who aspires to be a battle chef, a type of knight that hunts down monsters and cooks them into delicious dishes for the kingdom's people. Each mission in the game requires you hunt down specific monsters before racing into the kitchen to solve tile-based puzzles in order to cook your ingredients and fulfill the dish requirements set out by the judges. Battle Chef Brigade was well-received by critics and players alike. We're excited to announce that our next physical Nintendo Switch release will be Battle Chef Brigade from @TrinketStudios and @adultswimgames! The game will be available this Friday, November 9th 10AM Eastern Time at https://t.co/rZI6STrUid! pic.twitter.com/tzFOBNKbXv— Limited Run Games (@LimitedRunGames) November 2, 2018In August 2018, Battle Chef Brigade received an update that added split-screen multiplayer, as well as two new modes--called Survival and Free Play--and a new playable character.Battle Chef Brigade is available for Nintendo Switch and PS4.Info from Gamespot.com

Brie Larson, the Oscar winning actress who will be seen next as Captain Marvel, is apparently interested in playing Samus Aran, should Nintendo ever decide to go forward with a Metroid film.As evidenced on her Instagram page, Larson dressed up as Zero Suit Samus for Halloween this year. After posting images of herself in costume, fans took notice and asked about a potential Metroid movie. Larson said she hopes it happens someday. "I want to make that movie," she wrote. View this post on InstagramZero Suit Samus had an evening with Harry Potter and it was cute.A post shared by Brie (@brielarson) on Nov 1, 2018 at 8:26am PDT Nintendo hasn't made any announcements about a Metroid movie, but the company is increasingly interested in taking its franchises to the big screen. A new Mario movie from Despicable Me and Minions studio Illumination is on the way. Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto and Despicable Me franchise producer Chris Meladandri are co-producing the untitled film.Larson isn't the other celebrity who wants to play Samus in a Metroid movie. Ronda Rousey, the MMA and wrestling star who also makes movies now, previously talked about wanting to play Samus someday."I've always wanted to be Samus. That would be badass," Rousey said. "I love how people found out later that it was a hot chick on the inside. And then most of the day you're in a suit, so you can just hang out and eat donuts and be the star of Metroid. I hope they make a movie out of that."The next Metroid movie is Metroid Prime 4, which is coming to Nintendo Switch. Pretty much nothing is known about it. The earlier Metroid Prime games were developed by Retro Studios, but it appears Bandai Namco is producing the new one for Nintendo Switch.Larson won the Best Actress Oscar for her starring role in Room. Her next major role is Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel in the upcoming superhero film Captain Marvel, which is due out in March 2019. She's set to appear again as Captain Marvel in April 2019's untitled Avengers 4.Info from Gamespot.com

Dark Souls creator FromSoftware is renowned for its vague, interpretative stories and captivating gameplay--two strengths of the studio that have been successfully applied to similarly styled games for nearly over a decade. Deracine is a departure from what the studio is primarily known for. It's a narrative adventure that makes good use of PlayStation VR and the immersive nature of the hardware but fails to consolidate a poorly structured story and mundane gameplay to create something truly special.Deracine puts you in control of an invisible Faerie who manifests in a mysteriously secluded boarding school that serves as a home to five children. You're summoned by one of the children, Yuliya, who believes in a Faeries' duty to guide and protect those in need with their ability to alter and traverse time, tasking you with looking over the other children at the school. Deracine's tale begins with innocent chores around the school, where you play simple pranks on the children in a bid to prove your existence. But its overarching narrative quickly starts exploring greater themes concerning life and its sacrifices, obsessions with the past and the morality surrounding the ability to change past events. It's a story that presents its ideas without much hand-holding, which combined with the frequent time jumps can create a difficult thread to follow. It can often feel like you have a grasp of where the narrative is heading before it completely flips itself again, introducing more characters and supernatural elements that undermine the overall story. The final two chapters are most guilty of this, tossing aside previously established themes and instead focusing on numerous jumps between two days in an attempt to explain these sudden additions. The repetitive nature of these chapters wear thin quickly and only confuse the narrative further, sadly undercutting the harrowing conclusion that desperately tries to tie everything together. As a Faerie, Deracine gives you two abilities to command with disappointing limitations. The first lets you glance at current objectives though a magical pocket watch, while also giving you the power to travel through time when the narrative allows it. The second is a glowing red ring that can absorb time from objects and beings around you. The earliest example of this has you transferring the limited time left on a ripe pair of grapes over to a wilted and dead flower, instantly rejuvenating and reviving it. This initially seems like a clever mechanic, but you rarely get to use it. You're only able to use it freely in two puzzles, and even then, the choices presented to you are too straightforward. It's a shame that more of Deracine's puzzle-solving couldn't be designed around this single intriguing mechanic, especially when you ponder how captivating it might have been to be given the chance to experiment with its power in smart settings. Each chapter takes place within a frozen moment in time, letting you explore the school at will and interact with both past and present versions of the children residing there. Translucent echoes of characters give you insight into past events and create a breadcrumb trail for you to follow back to their current locations for more context into their current actions. Past conversations play out after you manipulate certain objects around the house and on the children's persons, while larger changes to their surroundings culminate in short showings of how they react to your meddling. Deracine makes your impact on its world and characters felt with each action, even if it gives you little to no room for experimentation.Exploration is the gateway to Deracine's point-and-click-like puzzles, which have you hunting for items you'll need to advance stories during each chapter. This can be as simple as hunting down a key for a locked chest or as involved as figuring out a way to move a stubborn black cat from your path (since Faeries seem to fear the cute pets). Puzzles are all similar to one another and expect you to pay close attention to each of the conversations you stumble upon for vague clues to their solutions. Sometimes, these clues don't offer meaningful information, leading to infrequent but frustrating instances where you're stuck trying to use every item in your possession to elicit a response. But most of the time they delicately point you in the correct direction--not outright explaining what to do, but giving you enough to make your eventual solutions feel satisfying to orchestrate.Moving around Deracine's surprisingly large boarding school and accompanying grounds makes good use of existing VR systems of control. You're forced to use a pair of PlayStation Move controllers (since you'll be handling items frequently with your hands) but an intelligent combination of segmental rotation and teleportation makes getting around a breeze. You use two face buttons to rotate the camera through fixed angles and then use a third button on the right Move controller to teleport to any highlighted area within view. In instances where you need to take a closer look, you can get right up and close with the item in question, orbiting the camera around to give you whatever desired angle you might need. It doesn't take long to become comfortable with the control scheme, making its frequent exploration easy to engage with and comfortable during long sessions of play.Deracine does contain an impressive level of detail to its world, enrapturing you in a space that is primed for you to pick apart. Finely detailed objects give you insight into its lore, with the benefit of VR and motion controls letting you manipulate each item carefully to inspect its every detail. The ability to move around freely and engage without numerous objects within Deracine's world with your own hands is effective in making you feel exactly like the Faerie the children describe, which just wouldn't be the same with a traditional controller.Deracine has the buildings blocks of a good VR debut from Dark Souls creator FromSoftware, but it lacks the engrossing gameplay and mystique that has made the studio's previous titles so successful.Expressive animation also plays a big role in enriching the many character moments with a strong sense of emotion and personality. The boarding school and its surrounding forests are also beautiful, bathed in warm lighting and rich seasonal colors. It's contrasted by a delicate and somber score, which loops and changes with each scene to provide a serene backdrop to your adventuring. Silence is also used to great effect, creating an ominous atmosphere at key, powerful moments. With the immersive properties offered by virtual reality, Deracine is a technical treat on both eyes and ears.Deracine has the buildings blocks of a good VR debut from Dark Souls creator FromSoftware, but it lacks the engrossing gameplay and mystique that has made the studio's previous titles so successful. It is a good example of a PSVR-exclusive title that uses the medium effectively, giving you ample control over your movement and an enticing space to explore fully with the flexibility of using your own two hands to pick it apart. Its narrative ambitions fail to meet the same bar, though, with intriguing themes that get lost within a poorly constructed narrative that's difficult to follow. Its puzzles fall prey to the same inadequacies, failing to leverage the more exciting mechanics presented from the start and instead relying on trivial scavenger hunts though frozen time. Deracine is a disappointingly flawed adventure that won't likely stick with you long after its conclusion. Info from Gamespot.com

Fortnite's Halloween event, Fortnitemares, is now over and it culminated in a pretty spectacular event. Developer Epic Games previously said that the event would be one-time only, and those that were present got to experience something pretty weird. At the center of it all was the mysterious cube affectionately known as Kevin. The purple cube appeared towards the end of Season 5 and has been a constant presence in Season 6 up until this point. As part of Fortnitemares, the cube began spawning zombie-like creatures that players had to battle against in the Battle Royale mode. As Fortnitemares came to a close, however, Kevin--suspended in mid-air--began to spin, gathering energy, and eventually exploding. There was a flash of white and players in the area were transported into a strange realm of light.Players floated in the air and, beneath them, what looked like the veins of this weird light realm collected into the center, which was a well of pearlescent light. Another source of light above everyone began to glow, and eventually it manifested as butterflies made of glass shards. They landed on players and a few seconds later everyone was transported back to the island. Now, the vortex that was in the middle of Loot Lake is no longer there. In its place is a small landmass where a collection of stones stand. It looks kind of like Fortnite's version of Stonehenge. Thus far, nothing else seems to have changed in any noticeable way. However, we expect the new area in the middle of Loot Lake holds its fair share of secrets, and Epic will be using it quite a lot in the coming weeks. You can watch the entire event happen in the video above, and check out the screenshots to see it too.We reckon players will be taking regular trips to the new location as part of Season 6's remaining weekly challenges. Although it's too late to complete the Fortnitemares challenges now, you can still catch up on all the other challenges in the season so far. To make things easier, check out our Fortnite Season 6 challenges guide, where you'll plenty of information that'll help you complete all of the challenges Epic has released this season to date.Info from Gamespot.com

The new Queen movie Bohemian Rhapsody opened this past weekend, and it is off to a hot start. The music biopic starring Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury made around $50 million over the November 2-4 weekend in the US and Canada, according to Entertainment Weekly. That's the second-biggest opening weekend for a music biopic in the history of film, only behind Straight Outta Compton, which made $60.2 million for its opening back in 2015.Industry estimates stated that Bohemian Rhapsody would make only $40 million at the most for its opening, so the final results are nicely ahead of that. The movie made around $72.5 million from international markets this weekend, boosting its global haul to $122.5 million. That's a nice result right out of the gate, as Bohemian Rhapsody had a budget of $52 million.Bohemian Rhapsody was initially going to feature Sacha Baron Cohen in the lead role, but he dropped out all the way back in 2013 reportedly due to creative differences with the surviving members of Queen. Mr. Robot star Rami Malek would eventually get the role.Director Bryan Singer was fired during production with Malek; the two apparently clashed, with Malek said to have complained about him to studio bosses. Dexter Fletcher, who directed the musical movie Sunshine on Leith, came to finish Bohemian Rhapsody, though Singer remains the only credited director on the project.Bohemian Rhapsody doesn't start at the beginning of Mercury's live, but instead covers a period of 15 years when Queen was on the rise and then its comeback and performance at Live Aid 1985. In addition to Malek as Mercury, the movie stars Gwilym Lee as the iconic guitarist Brian May, while Ben Hardy plays drummer Roger Taylor, and Joe Mazzello portrays bassist John Deacon. For more on Bohemian Rhapsody, check out GameSpot sister site CNET's review.US/Canada Box Office November 2-4Bohemian Rhapsody — $50 millionThe Nutcracker and the Four Realms — $20 millionNobody’s Fool — $14 millionA Star Is Born — $11.1 millionHalloween — $11 millionVenom — $7.9 millionSmallfoot — $3.8 millionGoosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween — $3.7 millionHunter Killer — $3.5 millionThe Hate U Give — $3.4 millionInfo from Gamespot.com

At BlizzCon this past weekend, Blizzard announced a brand-new Diablo game--but it wasn't exactly what fans were expecting or hoping for.Diablo Immortal is a new Diablo game for mobile devices that Blizzard is developing alongside partner NetEase. Even though Blizzard told fans weeks ahead of BlizzCon that they shouldn't expect an announcement of the next mainline Diablo game at the show, a reveal of a new mobile game wasn't the kind of surprise some were hoping for. The next big Diablo game--potentially Diablo 4--is likely in the works, but Blizzard said nothing about it at BlizzCon.We caught up with Blizzard's Wyatt Cheng (principal game designer) and Joe Hsu (senior game producer) at BlizzCon to talk about the announcement of Diablo Immortal, the reaction to it, and more.Cheng started off by explaining that Diablo Immortal is coming to mobile because the franchise is already well represented on console and PC; the next area of expansion is the growing mobile market, he said."At the end of the day, at Blizzard, we're gamers," Cheng said. "And we play a ton of games on all platforms, console, PC. We play board games. We play card games. We just play games, and a lot of us play mobile games. And I think when we look at an opportunity to make an awesome mobile game, we want to take it."Blizzard has been working with NetEase for nearly a decade on bringing popular franchises like World of Warcraft, Heroes of the Storm, Overwatch, and another mobile title, Hearthstone, to the Chinese gaming market. Partnering with NetEase again for Diablo Immortal just made sense, Cheng said.Another reason Blizzard is bringing Diablo to mobile is because there are more stories in the universe to tell. "We were looking at this 20 year period in between Diablo II, Lord of Destruction, and Diablo III, and we said, 'All these events happened, so we should take a look at creating a game that explores that space in time,'" Cheng explained. He added that Diablo Immortal is sort of like the movie Star Wars: Rogue One, which exists in the wider Star Wars universe but can still be watched and enjoyed on its own.As for Hsu, he said bringing Diablo to mobile is representative of Blizzard's efforts to "try new things" and bring Diablo to more people."We love to bring new things to our players," Hsu said. "For me personally, I still play Diablo III. I play the Seasons, and that is awesome experience, but I would love to try new things, and we would love to share that with everyone. And it's such a rich IP where we can do that, so it was a good choice. I feel like it was a very good choice."Some amount of the conversation around Diablo Immortal has been negative. As mentioned, a portion of the fanbase was hoping to see the next big Diablo title instead of a mobile game. Hsu said he hopes people give Diablo Immortal a shot first before judging it."We really believe playing is believing, and we would love it if everyone everywhere gets to try it out and give their honest opinions," he said. "That would be amazing."Being skeptical is perfectly fair and reasonable, Cheng said, but he still hopes people stay open-minded about Diablo Immortal."I think that's reasonable in today's world, our modern world, to be a little skeptical," he said. "But then for the people who play it, if they can go out and say, 'No, no, no, seriously, guys. I was at BlizzCon. I played the demo. It was awesome.' Hopefully that word of mouth spreads."Blizzard co-founder Allen Adham told Kotaku that the company expected fans to get upset about Diablo Immortal, but not on the level that eventually came to bear. There was also backlash when Blizzard announced Diablo for consoles and fans also got upset about Hearthstone in general being a free-to-play mobile game, Adham said, so pushback is nothing new for the company. All of that said, Adham added that he understands Diablo fans want more."We knew our audience here desperately wants to see and hear about one thing in particular," Adham said, presumably in reference to the next big Diablo game. You can expect Blizzard to spend a lot of time and attention on Diablo Immortal. Cheng said Diablo for mobile will be the next big core pillar for the Diablo franchise going forward."Yeah, I do. I do for sure," he said. "If we fast forward in 10, 20 years and look back, we're going to be developing up the lore. And when people paint out the storyline, we have new stories to tell. We have new gameplay. There's going to be brand new experiences for players in Diablo world."Blizzard has yet to disclose the business model for Diablo Immortal, so as of yet it's unknown if it will be free or paid. Blizzard's previous mobile game, Hearthstone, is free. It is supported by microtransactions. We asked if Diablo Immortal would have microtransactions, but both Cheng and Hsu said Blizzard is focused more on getting the game right before talking about business specifics. No doubt another one of the reasons Blizzard is bringing Diablo Immortal to market is because of the business opportunity. Smartphones are ubiquitous, and the microtransaction model--especially in China--is common and generally accepted. Parent company Activision Blizzard made $4 billion from microtransactions last year, and stakeholders are surely eager to see this figure grow higher still. One other matter surrounding Diablo Immortal is the accusations that it is a re-skin of the game Crusaders of Light, which is another title from NetEase. Asked directly to respond to the re-skinning claims, Cheng told IGN: "We have artists on our side, they have artists on their side, and we work together as a team, as a partnership to create everything about Diablo: Immortal. The environments, the characters, the skills, the story."GameSpot spent some hands-on time with Diablo Immortal at BlizzCon, so keep checking back soon for more. Info from Gamespot.com

The Austin Powers franchise has been dormant since 2002's Austin Powers in Goldmember, but a fourth instalment in the series might finally be on the way. Mike Myers, who plays Austin Powers and Dr. Evil in the silly spy series, said in interviews recently that a fourth instalment is "looking good," and it could have a unique hook.Myers told Entertainment Tonight that he is interested in making an Austin Powers movie told from the perspective of Dr. Evil instead of Austin Powers. "I would love to do a movie from Dr. Evil's perspective. So it would be Dr. Evil 1, Austin Powers 4, is how I would roll," he said. "Start the campaign, please. Thank you."In a separate interview with E! News, Myers said it's "looking good" that a fourth Austin Powers movie will happen. But you should be patient."You know, it takes a long time to write the script, you want it to be fantastic," Myers said.Jay Roach, who directed all three Austin Powers movies--1997's Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery, 1999's Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, and 2002's Austin Powers in Goldmember--is reportedly interested as well. Myers said he's met with Roach about a fourth film, adding again that it's "looking good," but "we'll see.""I'd love to do it, it's so much fun doing it," he said.Actor Verne Troyer, who played Mini-Me in the Austin Powers movies, passed away earlier this year. Myers appeared on Jimmy Kimmel's late night TV show and emotionally praised and remembered the actor who died at the age of of 49. Info from Gamespot.com

Earlier this year, the incorrect Battlefield V system requirements emerged online, but now developer DICE has shared the final, official system requirements for the WW2 shooter. Posted on Reddit, the system requirements cover Minimum and Recommended, as well as DirectX ray tracing (DXR), which requires extra RAM and and RTX card.Battlefield V was supposed to launch on October 19, but EA and developer DICE announced a delay that pushed the release date to November 15. The delay came down to DICE wanting to have more time to fine-tune the game and make it as good as possible for release. The game will launch with single-player War Stories and the fan-favourite multiplayer, but the new battle royale mode, Firestorm, isn't going to launch until March 2019. The single-player campaign chapter where you play as a German soldier, The Last Tiger, won't be available at release either; instead it comes out sometime in December. Toby Fox, the indie developer behind the hit Undertale, has released a special treat for Halloween. His latest game, titled Deltarune, has released for free through its official site. You can download it now for PC or Mac.Fox began teasing the game yesterday. "For those who completed Undertale, it's really important that you check [the Undertale Twitter account] 24 hours from now," Fox said. "I want to make something new, and it all begins with your feedback."That teaser could imply a direct connection between Undertale and Deltarune, or possibly just a hunch that anyone interested in Fox's work would also like to check out whatever else he has up his sleeve. Notably, "Deltarune" is an anagram of Undertale. Undertale is chock full of secrets and mysteries, some of which remain unexplained. The fan community pores over details and clues looking to unlock its mysteries, and this latest game may help fill in some gaps. It appears to be more of a proof-of-concept than a full finished game, which Fox suggested with his comment about feedback.Undertale recently released on Nintendo Switch, joining the PC and PlayStation Vita releases. It became a critical hit for subverting RPG tropes with a unique combat system, and for allowing wide flexibility in how you deal with enemies."Without spoiling the many ways it will screw with your expectations, it isn't possible to truly capture how wonderful Undertale is," said critic Tyler Hicks in GameSpot's Undertale review. "You wouldn't know it with a passing glance, but it's one of the most progressive and innovative RPGs to come in a long time, breaking down tradition for the sake of invention, with great success."Info from Gamespot.com

The company announced that the classic costumes for Leon and Claire will be unlockable in the game for free. That means Leon's "Classic Police Costume" and Claire's "Classic Jacket Costume" will be available for all players. As some eagle-eyed fans have noted, Claire's is slightly different than her original look, which had black sleeves and a high neck from the shirt worn under her jacket. As an homage, though, it's recognizable. This comes just after a new trailer revealed exclusive costumes that you can get by purchasing one of the game's Deluxe and Collector's Editions. Those included a Military and Elza Walker outfit for Claire, and the Arklay Sheriff costume for Leon. Both also have a Noir costume for that smoky old-school look. All of those are included in both the Deluxe and Collector's Editions, which come with a few different goodies. A Fallout 76 bug caused some PC users to accidentally delete the entire game, prompting Bethesda to extend the beta as a make-good. After warning users not to click any buttons on the client, it told them to allow the beta game file to redownload. The company later took responsibility for the bug and announced the extension.Eurogamer reports that the bug only impacted PC users, but those affected had to redownload the entire 50 GB beta file. That could lead to long wait times and ISP data restrictions, so the company was compelled to issue a mea culpa. It will now run on November 2 from 11 AM to 8 PM PT. The tweet notes this extension is for everyone, so users on the PS4 and Xbox One get a little extra benefit without having been impacted by the bug.We know some users have been forced to redownload the #Fallout76 B.E.T.A. and not everyone will be able to enjoy the game tonight.
