Blizzard has announced that Warcraft III: Reforged is being made with real-time strategy game newcomers in mind. Revealed at BlizzCon 2018, Reforged is an upcoming remaster of the original 2002 Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and its 2003 expansion The Frozen Throne."Yeah, Warcraft III did not have the easy mode," Blizzard lead artist Brian Sousa said during an interview with GameSpot. "It was either hard or really hard, and so now, even me, I remember playing missions over, and over, and over. This is a really hard game, so getting in there and making it a little bit more accessible for today's players, at least, to get into the RTS genre. This RTS has been around for 15 years. It's still around, people are still playing it, so we're not too worried about redefining the RTS because this already has a huge community, right, and we're not looking to change how Warcraft plays. We just want it to be a little bit more accessible and look better for today's players."In the same interview, senior producer Pete Stilwell also revealed that Blizzard currently has no plans of developing Warcraft IV. However, a sequel is not impossible. "I mean, I wouldn't rule anything out, but we don't have any plans around [Warcraft IV] at this point. Getting [Warcraft III: Reforged] right, I think, is our priority first and foremost," Stilwell said. This matches with what Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void producer Tim Morten said about Warcraft's future.Reforged will feature remastered maps and campaigns, as well as remodeled animations and characters. The game will launch with 4K support, and an upgraded UI and world editor in comparison to the original game. A special edition, called Spoils of War, unlocks in-game content for Diablo III, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, Heroes of the Storm, and World of Warcraft.Info from Gamespot.com

Rockstar has announced that it is working on an issue that is affecting Red Dead Redemption 2. Currently, a bug in the game can cause Sadie, Jack, John, and Abigail--four of Arthur Morgan's camp companions--to disappear after the completion of chapter two."If you completed the mission 'Polite Society, Valentine Style' at the start of Chapter 2, but needed to use the Retry Checkpoint feature, then Sadie, Jack, John, and Abigail will only appear in camp when they have missions for you to complete," Rockstar wrote in a Q&A blog post. "We are aware of the issue and are currently working on a fix to be included in an upcoming Title Update."While Rockstar works on a solution for the bug, the developer advises all players who have yet to complete "Polite Society, Valentine Style" to do so without retrying from a checkpoint. If you fail the mission, make sure you immediately abandon and restart it, or load an earlier save. These are currently the only ways to avoid encountering the glitch. If you've already encountered the bug, you'll have to keep playing RDR2 until chapter four to see Sadie, Jack, John, and Abigail in the camp again. You will miss the four character's unique conversations unless you reload a previous save from before "Polite Society, Valentine Style" to avoid the glitch.Red Dead Redemption 2 is available for Xbox One and PS4. In our review, Kallie Plagge gave the game a 9/10, writing, "Red Dead Redemption 2 is an excellent prequel, but it's also an emotional, thought-provoking story in its own right, and it's a world that is hard to leave when it's done."Info from Gamespot.com

One of the biggest talking points surrounding Red Dead Redemption 2 has been about the working culture within developer Rockstar Games. Co-founder Dan Houser said he and a small team worked a few 100-hour weeks to finish the game, and after this, Rockstar HR encouraged its developers to speak openly about their own experiences. Many shared stories of working overtime, but not to the point of 100-hour weeks. While the topic of "crunch" and extended working hours is nothing new for Rockstar or the industry overall, it re-energised the discussion about the importance of a positive work-life balance. Now, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has responded to the controversy, telling GameDaily.biz that he is "incredibly proud" of Rockstar and the effort that went into making Red Dead Redemption 2. Take-Two is the parent company of Rockstar Games."Rockstar commented extensively on the issue. I don't think there's much to add to it. I would say that I'm incredibly proud of Rockstar Games," Zelnick said. "There are more than 2,000 members of the team who did a fantastic job bringing Red Dead Redemption 2 to audiences around the world."Unlike 2010's Red Dead Redemption, the sequel was developed by all of Rockstar's studios together, which is where the 2,000 person figure comes from. Zelnick went on to say that Rockstar and management at Take-Two have "aligned interests" as it relates to money and culture."Look, we have a common culture and shared views and aligned interests, both personal and economic," he said. "Certainly, our creative interests are aligned. We all work within the same enterprise. I think there's a great deal of commonality of culture and I'm really proud of that, which is why I said I stand behind the [Rockstar] label and their approach."Rockstar HR told Kotaku that developers at Rockstar's studios worked an average of 42.4 hours per week from January through March 2018, then 45.5 hours from April through June, and 45.8 hours per week from July through September. These numbers are the average from everyone at Rockstar working on all of the studio's projects, not just Red Dead Redemption 2, which may explain some of the stories people are telling about overly long working hours.Another element at play here is that Rockstar developers who worked on Red Dead Redemption 2 stand to make potentially significant bonuses related to the game's performance. For the previous game, some people made five-figure bonuses, according to Kotaku. Red Dead Redemption 2 made $725 million in its first three days, and has shipped 17 million copies already; the sequel needed just eight days to outsell its predecessor. This all suggests developers are in line for a nice bonus payday.Disclosure: Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick is the interim chairman of CBS Corp., the parent company of GameSpot. Info from Gamespot.com

Another teaser trailer has been released for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and Suicide Squad's crossover event. Although the video is much longer than the previous tease, it still doesn't offer much detail on what this PUBG event will entail. [Update: Turns out the tease was only for new PUBG skins, as well as the addition of new make up and hair style cosmetics.]In this new teaser, Joker and Harley work together to escape prison while dozens of police officers and soldiers attempt to stop them. The teaser does not reveal if Joker and Harley are facing other players or computer-controlled characters. However, the trailer does seem to imply that the upcoming PUBG event is a two-person vs. everyone else gametype, as opposed to the traditional free-for-all battle royale formula."Ok, honey. It's me and you."Live on and play as two of your favorite Suicide Squad heroes, the Joker and Harley Quinn. Coming soon. pic.twitter.com/NWZhXaPBMz — PUBG (@PUBG) November 6, 2018There still hasn't been confirmation as to when this new PUBG event will start, or for how long it will last. However, Xbox teased that there would be "big PUBG news" during X018, so perhaps more concrete details about the Suicide Squad crossover will be announced during the event.X018 is a global event that offers news, first looks, and surprises for games and features coming to Xbox consoles and services. Ubisoft has announced the first details for the next expansion for Rainbow Six Siege. Titled Operation Wind Bastion, the expansion will add two Operators and a new multiplayer map at the start of Year 3, Season 4.The new Operators will be an Attacker and a Defender that come from the Kingdom of Morocco's GIGR (Groupe d'Intervention de la Gendarmerie Royale). In a blog post, Ubisoft describes the new Attacker as a care-free yet resourceful explorer who is "an expert on environmental operations with a knack for pushing the enemy back." The Defender is described as a stoic commander who "inspires respect and has taken it upon himself to guide the future of Moroccan Special Forces."The new map, called Fortress, is a military facility in the Atlas Mountains. According to Ubisoft, the "map will be comprised of two distinguishable sections offering a variety of open space, points of cover, and lines of sight for both close and long range engagements." Fortress is also "the first ever map to be heavily associated with an Operator." Ubisoft has not announced whether that Operator is one of the two new ones, or a member of Siege's existing roster.Operation Wind Bastion's full reveal--as well as the rest of new content for Year 3, Season 4--will be made at Siege's Pro League Finals on November 17-18. One of the major changes coming to Siege at the start of Season 4 will be censorship of certain in-game environments and icons. Ubisoft is removing references to specific mature content, like gambling and sex, in Siege ahead of its release in Asian territories that have heavier content restrictions.Siege's last major patch, Update Y3S3.2, addressed many of the bugs that previously existed in the game. The update also added balancing changes to both Clash and Maestro, two Operators that Ubisoft felt were underused. Two firearms, the SMG-11 and Vector, were also patched to reduce recoil and improve the weapons' handling.Rainbow Six Siege is available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.Info from Gamespot.com

Red Dead Redemption 2 was indeed the commercial juggernaut it was expected to be. Parent publisher Take-Two announced that the game has passed 17 million copies shipped worldwide following its October 26 release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It needed just over a week to pass the lifetime shipment figure of the 2010 game, Red Dead Redemption. According to Take-Two, Red Dead Redemption 2 shipped more units over its first eight days than the 2010 title shipped in its first eight years.Red Dead Redemption 2 earned more than $725 million in revenue of its opening weekend, which represented the best opening weekend for any piece of entertainment in history, according to Take-Two. Rockstar's previous game, Grand Theft Auto V, made $1 billion over its first three days, but it launched on a Tuesday compared to a Friday for RDR 2. That means cowboy game can claim largest opening weekend ever while GTA V remains the biggest overall three-day launch.Red Dead Redemption 2 was also the most pre-ordered game ever on the PlayStation Network, while it also drove the most single-day sales on PSN and the most sales over three days on PSN.While Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally here, the game's online mode, Red Dead Online, isn't slated to launch until later this month. It is expected to be a big-time money-maker, following on from the oversized success of GTA Online. Like GTA Online, Red Dead Online is expected to contain microtransactions, which could prove to be lucrative if GTA Online is anything to go on.Another way Red Dead Redemption 2 could make even more money is by launching on PC, as is rumoured. In the newest episode of GameSpot's original show, Steam Punks, Jess McDonell and Edmond Tran talk about the reasons why Red Dead Redemption 2 isn't on PC yet and why it may eventually come to the platform. Nintendo has published new job listings that further confirms the developer has already begun production on another The Legend of Zelda game. Perhaps more interestingly, the job listings suggest dungeons--a series staple that was mostly absent from 2017's The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild--will be returning in the upcoming game.Currently, Nintendo is looking for a 3DCG designer and level designer to contribute work to The Legend of Zelda series. Both job listings are published in Japanese, but ResetEra user guru-guru has been able to provide a rough English translation. The 3DCG designer's primary roles are the creation of terrain and topography for fields and dungeons, as well as concept art. The level designer is being hired to plan enemy placements and dungeon layout. The job listings do not reveal whether or not this upcoming game is a brand new story. In the six years between Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild, Nintendo only created mainline Zelda titles that connected to older games. 2015's Tri Force Heroes, for example, is a sequel to 2013's A Link Between Worlds, which itself is a sequel to 1991's A Link to the Past. 2013's The Wind Waker HD, 2015's Majora's Mask 3D, and 2016's Twilight Princess HD are all remasters of classic Zelda titles. The job postings also don't specify work on the next game in the franchise, just a game in the series, so there's a chance the upcoming The Legend of Zelda title could be a sequel story or HD remaster of an older story as opposed to something completely new. A remaster of an older Zelda game would explain the emphasis Nintendo is placing on dungeons. This is, however, simply a guess and not something to be taken as fact.Last year, The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma said there is a possibility that there would be another Zelda game on Nintendo Switch. He also mentioned that the next mainline game in the series could be multiplayer-focused.Info from Gamespot.com

Studio Wildcard has announced that the new expansion for Ark: Survival Evolved, titled Extinction, will go live on PC today. Extinction continues Ark's story by pitting humanity against giant mega-dinosaur creatures called Titans.Defeating the raid boss-like Titans is the centerpiece to Extinction, but the expansion also adds more creatures to tame and technology to utilize. Cryopods, for example, are handy pieces of tech that allow you to store your creatures and easily carry them around in your inventory. You'll be able to transfer your preexisting characters into Extinction, but your items and tamed creatures will have to stay behind. Whatever you claim in Extinction, though, can be brought back with you into Ark's older maps."We will be introducing North American and European Extinction servers first," Studio Wildcard senior community manager Jen Stuber wrote in a Steam blog post. "We will be releasing an initial start batch of servers, and bringing more servers online as needed so please be patient for us during this period. The servers will be the standard 70-player cap. Extinction will be included in all CrossARK clusters (except 'TheHundred'), as well as Conquest and Small Tribes servers."Extinction's PC servers have launched, after experiencing brief technical issues. Both the Xbox One and PS4 versions of Extinction will launch on November 13. Extinction comes included in Ark's Season Pass, but can be purchased separately as well. The PC version of Ark: Survival Evolved is being offered as free-to-play until November 11 on Steam. You can also buy the game at a discounted price of $20 / £18 / €22 until November 13.Info from Gamespot.com

Rockstar Game's newest release, Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4 and Xbox One, is a game where you'll want to spend a great deal of time uncovering all of its secrets and details. You can spend 50-plus hours just completing the main story, slowing accumulating wealth and honor. But if you're someone looking for a shortcut--who wants to find a quick path to success while living the life of an outlaw in the last days of the wild west--we've got you covered. Much like the original game and GTA V, Red Dead 2 features an assortment of cheat codes that unlock additional resources, with some injecting odd gimmicks and quirks into your game.To find the Cheats menu, press the pause button and select the Settings option. In this menu, press Triangle or Y (on PS4 and Xbox One, respectively) to pull up the Cheats menu. From here, you'll find a long list of locked cheats. Initially, you won't know what any of these do or how to unlock them. Many of these codes can be activated by putting in the correct phrase, but others will require some extra time and effort. In addition to finding passwords while exploring the world, some of which are written into the ground, throughout the game you'll find newspapers for sale in towns, and some of these offer clues as to how to unlock these extra fun options. More newspapers will become available after completing main missions, which you'll see detailed in news articles. While many of these cheats introduce some mostly benign bits of fun--such as keeping your character, Arthur Morgan, perpetually drunk--activating these codes at any time will have some consequences for your save game. Once you activate these codes, all Trophies and Achievements will be deactivated on this particular file. As a result, before trying any of these codes, be sure to make a separate file for your main save. With over 30 codes to unlock, some of which have some specific requirements, we've collected a list of cheats that we've uncovered thus far. We also have a separate feature discussing some of the most entertaining and best cheats in Red Dead Redemption 2. Red Dead Redemption 2's multiplayer mode, Red Dead Online, wasn't available when the game launched last month. Instead, it's slated to arrive sometime in November. Now, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has teased when this month the mode may be available.During an earnings call, Zelnick said Red Dead Online is set to launch "toward the end of the month." That's not entirely specific, but it's the first time we're hearing anything about when in November Red Dead Online will release.Red Dead Online will be released initially in beta form, and developer Rockstar Games is expecting some hiccups and other teething problems. As for what the mode actually entails, Rockstar summed it up this way:"Using the gameplay of the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 as a foundation, Red Dead Online will be ready to be explored alone or with friends, and will also feature constant updates and adjustments to grow and evolve this experience for all players."Launching near the end of November means Red Dead Online may release around the Thanksgiving holiday in the US and the Black Friday bonanza shopping season. The Red Dead Redemption 2 Achievements/Trophy lists contain some clues about what to expect from Red Dead Online. The "Series Major" achievement is earned by taking part in a Series, whatever that is. Another achievement is unlocked for accepting a certain number of Free Roam missions, while Red Dead Online will also have some kind of a numerical ranking system. There will also be "posses" in Red Dead Online, and you can earn an achievement for successfully countering a rival posse's free roam mission, but it's not exactly clear what that means. You'll also be able to purchase camp improvements in Red Dead Online.Like GTA Online with GTA V, Red Dead Online is a free experience for everyone who buys Red Dead Redemption 2. The mode is expected to feature microtransactions as part of Take-Two's ambition to put microtransactions in pretty much all of its games. GTA Online was and continues to be a tremendous commercial success, and Red Dead Online looks to continue that. The staggered release between base game and its online mode is nothing new for Rockstar. The studio's previous title, Grand Theft Auto V, launched on September 17, 2013, with its online mode--GTA Online--arriving about two weeks later on October 1.Red Dead Redemption 2 has shipped 17 million copies, and it needed just eight days to surpass the number of copies the 2010 game Red Dead Redemption shipped in eight years. Are you looking forward to Red Dead Redemption 2's online mode? Fallout 76 is a very different kind of Fallout game, with a new focus on multiplayer across a massive open world. Bethesda is putting it through its paces with a beta test releasing very soon, and you can join in to help explore the wastes and gather technical feedback before its official launch. However, while pre-ordering is your ticket to the beta, it won't necessarily get you in quickly. Here's everything to know about the beta. When does the beta start? The beta for Fallout 76 began on October 23 on Xbox One, and then expand to PC and PlayStation 4 the following week on October 30. Pre-loading for the Xbox One version is now available. Upcoming sessions are planned for October 27 and 28, as detailed in our Fallout 76 beta schedule guide.Even if you've received a code, though, you may not necessarily be invited to the first wave. Bethesda plans to start small to stress test the game and expand slowly, so your actual start date may vary.A separate pre-beta stress test also took place starting on October 13. That one was exclusive to Xbox One Insiders who have pre-ordered the game, and even then fulfilling those criteria only entered them into the pool of possible participants. Players of this stress test were under NDA and unlike the beta, game progress was not saved. How long will the beta last?Bethesda has not given a specific end-date for the beta, but it has explained that the servers won't be available 24/7 during the beta period. The studio says it will be running "targeted time frames" to force interested players together at the same time, which in turn will mark a better technical test. The game may be available for 4-8 hours on any given day, with Bethesda making adjustments and fixes during the off periods. This process will repeat until a few days before launch on November 14.How do I get in?The beta will be available exclusively for those who pre-order the game across PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Digital pre-orders will be entered into the pool automatically, while physical pre-orders will receive a code to enter into the accounts page once the beta has gone live on your platform of choice. It's important to note that this code is not the beta code you enter to access the actual game download. Instead, the pre-order code is the one you enter into Bethesda's system to be put into the pool for code distribution. A separate code, which gives you access to the install, will follow at a later time as Bethesda rolls out its invites. In the meantime, you can be sure you're prepared by creating a free Bethesda.net login. Also, make sure you have an active Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus membership if you're playing on either console, since those will be required to access the online-only game.Is the beta the full game? The Fallout 76 beta is the full experience, and Bethesda says it is currently planning to allow players to carry progress over into the full game. However, console players will need to redownload the launch version, whereas PC players will not need to download a new version upon launch. The beta will be 45 GB.How do I submit feedback?Bethesda is inviting feedback across its variety of social media channels. What else will I get for pre-ordering?Aside from beta access, pre-ordering will get you 500 Atoms--Fallout 76's in-game currency. Atoms allow you to purchase cosmetic items from the shop. Bethesda has indicated that Atoms will be plentiful, but as we haven't seen the shop or prices yet, it's hard to say just how far 500 Atoms will go.Info from Gamespot.com

The beta for Fallout 76 continues, but as you read this, you likely can't actually play it. That's because Bethesda only has its servers available at certain times; trying to get in outside of these specific windows will yield a "login failed" error. Below, we've got all the details you need to know regarding exactly when you can play. At the time of this writing, the next test--the final one--takes place on November 8 and will be available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Read on for the exact times.Fallout 76's debut test was available only on Xbox One for a four-hour window on October 23. That has since passed, with Bethesda deeming it an "amazing start." Additional test periods will continue to be available for a limited time. The purpose of this is to force players together at a specific time to stress test and put the game through its paces. Sessions typically lasted 2-8 hours on a given day, and then the beta would be inoperable again until the next session. A beta code is available to anyone who pre-ordered the game across Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. Pre-loading is available on all platforms. You'll receive a code with your physical pre-order to enter into the accounts page, or you'll be entered into the pool automatically if you pre-order a digital copy.Upcoming Fallout 76 Beta TimesNovember 8US Pacific Time: 11 AM - 5 PMUS Eastern Time: 2 PM - 8 PMUK GMT: 7 PM - 1 AMAustralia AET: 6 AM - 12 PM (November 9)Bethesda plans to let to keep your progress from the beta through to the full game. Red Dead Redemption 2's release has come for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Those who prefer to play games on PC may be rewarded with their patience eventually, but as of now we have no indication that Red Dead 2 will ever come to PC. That doesn't mean there is no hope at all, though. So far the studio has given no official indication of a PC port incoming. There was some hope when a programmer seemingly outed a PC version online, but it remains unclear if that was merely a mistake. [Update: The latest glimmer of hope for PC fans comes via Rockstar Intel, which reports that the Red Dead 2 companion app includes references to PC in its code. It's possible these don't mean anything or are being misinterpreted, but it does bear noting.]The most recent Rockstar game, Grand Theft Auto V, did make the jump to PC after its initial console release. Following its original release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013, Rockstar released upgraded Playstation 4 and Xbox One ports the following year, and then a PC port in 2015. Those later ports were widely lauded for their improved technical underpinnings, and the PC version has enjoyed an active mod community.Red Dead Redemption 2 appears very similar to GTAV in key ways. It's a technical powerhouse that's already pushing the current console generation to its limit. While the Xbox One X came out ahead in a performance analysis, both it and the high-end PS4 Pro were said to be hitting the upper limits of their processing power. We may be on the verge of another console generation to debut in the next few years, so a port to those with some added bells and whistles could make sense. And if that happens, a PC port would be likely as well. Plus Red Dead 2 is already receiving positive reviews and helping Take-Two's stock price, so another shot in the arm from a port would be welcome for the company. Then again, Rockstar has been inconsistent with ports in general and PC support more specifically. The original Red Dead Redemption never made the trip to PC, and in fact is still only available on PS3 and Xbox 360--along with Xbox One, via backwards compatibility.Red Dead Redemption 2 could come to PC in a matter of years, but for the time being, your best bet is to saddle up on the current generation of consoles. If you need some help recalling the events of the first game, check out our story recap. Your console decision may come down to performance--keeping in mind that Xbox One X performed the best in a test, but PS4 has exclusive content for 30 days.Info from Gamespot.com

Red Dead Redemption 2 might come to PC after all. The recently released mobile companion app appears to have some code buried deep in it that references PC settings, graphics options, and even a reference to a VR device.Rockstar Intel reports that the companion app includes files that reference graphics options, temporal anti-aliasing, water reflection resolution, and shadow and particle quality. Some files appear to say "PcVersion" and one mentions Oculus, presumably a reference to the line of VR devices. Other pieces of the code could hint at a desktop version of the companion app, but it would be odd to have such deep graphics settings for an app that mostly serves as an interactive map and strategy guide hub.So far, Rockstar has said mum on the possibility of a PC port, but there remains some reason to believe one will come eventually.
