Following the reveal of Battlefield 2042, it seems that a decent number of players have hopped back into 2013's Battlefield 4. In response, EA is firing up some extra servers just to serve the eight-year-old game's bolstering population. In a post on the EA Answers page, an EA community manager addressed the need for more Battlefield 4 servers, saying "We've been monitoring your experience and notice queue times in the US West region were far longer than in other regions. Good news, we've increased server capacity for this region--you can expect less waiting, and more playing."While only the US West region needed extra servers to accommodate more players, it seems that EA has plans in case those issues continue to grow. "We'll continue monitoring queue times and will make further adjustments as necessary," continued the community manager.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

French animation house Cyber Group Studios has signed an agreement with Square Enix to bring Final Fantasy IX, released for the original PlayStation in 2000, to the small screen as an animated series, Kidscreen reports. The project is in the early stages, with the studio having the basic framework of the project down in a project bible, and the studio is ready to begin pitching it to broadcasters as well. The series doesn't yet have an episode count or release date, but Cyber Group is reportedly looking to begin production by the end of 2021 or early 2022.Final Fantasy IX was a departure from the Final Fantasy games that both preceded and followed it, which had continually increased the realism of their characters, as well as putting them in somewhat more mature situations. EA is reportedly reviving Dead Space, with Motive Studio developing the game. As reported by Gematsu, Motive is supposedly developing a "reimagining" of the original Dead Space games and EA plans to reveal the game during EA Play Live on July 22.The rumor originated from GamesBeat's Jeff Grubb, who said on the GamesBeat Decides podcast that Motive Studios is working on a dormant EA IP to be revealed at that presentation in July. After that, the story was picked up by VGC, and Eurogamer reported hearing similar rumors. According to Gematsu, the Dead Space revival is being developed by Motive Studios, which previously made Star Wars: Squadrons. EA Motive had previously been working on a project codenamed "Gaia" but it was canceled after six years in development. The new Dead Space is set to be a reimagining of the story and not a direct sequel to the original trilogy.Dead Space 3 released in 2013 and the series has been dormant since. At the time, EA denied reports that the company canceled the series after Dead Space 3, however, EA would eventually go on to shut down Visceral Studios, the developer of the Dead Space trilogy, in 2017, while the studio was working on a single-player Star Wars game. Dead Space co-creator Glen Schofield has since gone on to announce The Callisto Protocol, a new third-person survival-horror game, being developed by his new studio, Striking Distance.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Game Builder Garage isn't Nintendo's first foray into game creation software, but its previous efforts have all been narrowly focused. Super Mario Maker and its sequel gave you the tools and freedom to create your own Mario levels, while WarioWare DIY for the DS let you create and share brief microgames. Game Builder Garage, on the other hand, seems to have grander ambitions. Nintendo has billed it as a way to "learn to make games from the minds at Nintendo." While it doesn't quite live up to that sky's-the-limit pitch, it's nonetheless an impressively flexible toolkit and a charming introduction to the basics of game creation.Fundamentally, Game Builder Garage is an expanded version of the Toy-Con Garage mode from Nintendo's Labo kits (as evidenced by the various Labo assets featured in the software). Just as in Toy-Con Garage, "programming" in Game Builder Garage is handled by stringing input and output nodes together; connecting a B button node to a character node, for instance, will "program" the character to jump when that button is pressed. The most noticeable difference between the two is their presentation. Whereas Toy-Con Garage featured a stark black background with minimal UI, Game Builder Garage is bright and cheerful, making the software feel much more inviting, particularly for younger users. To further help ease players into the experience, the game cleverly personifies the different nodes as beings called Nodon. These creatures come in many varieties, each representing a different mechanism or element of the game; there are Nodon that conjure specific items like apples and boxes, and others that track time and control the camera. Each type of Nodon looks and sounds distinct, which helps make it easier to remember their different functions.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Captain Jack Sparrow is joining your Sea of Thieves crew. That's either very good or very bad, depending on your point of view--from what we've seen of the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean tie-in expansion, A Pirate's Life, he seems like he's pretty fun to have around. On the other hand, he likes to get into the rum and he's a bit of a loose cannon.Either way, Jack Sparrow represents a major shift in Sea of Thieves in its third year, and with A Pirate's Life, Rare's multiplayer live service game looks to be taking a big leap forward. As Rare showed in a presentation demonstrating what we can expect from the expansion, A Pirate's Life adds a huge amount of content that goes beyond just Pirates of the Caribbean-themed items and stories. It's adding a bunch of new characters, new enemies, and new places to explore. Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Once a year, WWE hosts its annual Hell in a Cell PPV, where high-profile feuds end with wrestlers in a head-to-head battle inside the titular event match. This year's Hell in a Cell has a lot of promise, with multiple title defenses and highly-anticipated matches. If you're looking for results, you've come to the right place, as GameSpot will have live match updates as the show goes on, which you can see below.Fans will not be in attendance for this event, as Hell in a Cell will take place in the Thunderdome. Currently, the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida is where the Thunderdome calls home. So while the cheers and boos may be piped in through speakers, at least you'll get to see WWE fans at home reacting to the action inside the ring. And even though you're watching the show from the comfort of your own couch, WWE's PPVs haven't been very long affairs, so while the main card begins at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT, it shouldn't run much longer than 11 PM ET / 8 PM PT. This is just speculation though, as neither Peacock or WWE have revealed how long Hell in a Cell will run.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
