Developer Crystal Dynamics has confirmed that Marvel's Avengers players on all platforms will be able to select multiple of the same hero later this month when the feature gets permanently added as an in-game option. The game's official Twitter account said this is in response to community feedback. Though a date has not been specified, Marvel's Avengers players will soon be able to double up on heroes in multiplayer matchmaking. This means if your favorite (or highest-leveled) hero is Black Widow but she was picked at the character selection screen before you could choose her, you can still choose her. She won't be greyed out once the feature is turned on.Based on the language, however, it sounds as if players will be unable to toggle the duplication feature on and off. When reached for comment, a Square Enix representative clarified that the feature will be a permanent addition going forward and something players can't change at will from now on.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Crowfall, the new fantasy MMO from ArtCraft Entertainment, is now available for PC. The new MMO focuses on player-versus-player gameplay with constantly changing worlds in different campaigns, with different maps, politics, and rule sets. With a heavy focus on PvP battles, both individual and large-scale, the game features a fast advancement curve allowing players to get competitive in hours. While the advancement system allows for numerous combinations between race, class, class promotion, and subclass disciplines that could provide deep gameplay, developer ArtCraft doesn't want players to feel like they are just grinding to get to the endgame."Crowfall represents a new frontier of online gaming," creative director J. Todd Coleman said in a press release. "It was designed to be a constantly changing, dynamic feudal world. The story of Crowfall will be written by the players. They will claim territory, build massive fortifications, lay siege to their neighbors, forge alliances and topple empires. Their deeds will become the history of this world."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The people making The Suicide Squad want you to know that it's going to be a very different movie. Different how? Well, it certainly won't be anything like the financially successful but overall lambasted 2016 Suicide Squad. Like other recent DC films, including Birds of Prey, Shazam, and Aquaman, it will stand apart from the "DC Extended Universe" of movies, if such a thing even exists at this point. The Suicide Squad isn't even similar to James Gunn's previous big screen superhero movies, Marvel's largely beloved Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. The reasons why are plentiful and compelling, as we learned on a visit to The Suicide Squad's set in Atlanta, Georgia back in 2019, before the global pandemic."Basically DC came [to me] and said, 'Hey, what do you want to do?'" recalled Gunn, who took a few minutes out of his busy shooting schedule to chat with the reporters who had flown out to set. After being reactively fired by Disney over a series of uncouth old tweets, Gunn wasn't in the wind for long, and he quickly brought his pitch for The Suicide Squad to DC and Warner Bros. That pitch was apparently quite something.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

GameStop opened a Discord server, and to no one's surprise: It is currently utter chaos. The server and its bot--and poor moderators--are likely overwhelmed by the influx of new users. As of writing this, the only channels presently available are the LFG ones, separated by game titles. So far, the accessible LFG channels include Apex Legends, Call of Duty, Destiny 2, Fortnite, Overwatch, Rocket League, and World of Warcraft.Want to connect with a community of people who are just as obsessed with games as you are? Join our new Discord server! https://t.co/TkbaCsiHQM pic.twitter.com/iqYItbaFqu — GameStop (@GameStop) July 6, 2021In the future, once the server is no longer getting bombarded by new users, there will also be three other channel sections available. The GameStop section will include announcements, role-selection, media, and streams channels. The second one, Community, will have a general video game discussion channel, as well as a tabletop games, off-topic, and feedback channels.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

When it comes to Star Wars movies, we love them, but we kind of know what to expect. Disney's The Mandalorian showed us that Star Wars still has tons of TV-sized stories to tell, and now our favorite space opera is getting a Japanese touch with the upcoming Star Wars: Visions anime anthology.During Anime Expo Lite on Sunday, Disney announced a bevy of anime studios hard at work on a series of anime shorts for Star Wars: Visions, which will stream on Disney+ this September. Anime fans will recognize most of the studios in the line-up. Even if they don't recognize the studio itself, they'll likely recognize the studio's work at the very least. These are some of the best known and most talented anime studios currently working in Japan. There are nine shorts coming in total:Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead hit Netflix earlier this year, and it sounds like the director had a good experience with the streaming giant. His next film, Rebel Moon, will be exclusive to the streaming service, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The story features a tyrannical lord named Balisarius, who threatens a galactic colony, according to THR, requiring a young woman to recruit warriors from neighboring planets to fight off the invasion."This is me growing up as an Akira Kurosawa fan, a Star Wars fan," Snyder told THR. "It's my love of sci-fi and a giant adventure. My hope is that this also becomes a massive IP and a universe that can be built out."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Nintendo's announcement of a new Switch OLED model was met with more of a whimper than a bang, judging by the reaction of many on the internet. Perhaps expectations had been bloated by the months of reports and rumors suggesting that this new model would be a significant power upgrade. Maybe after four years with the Nintendo Switch, fans are just itching for a bigger splash. For whatever reason, the modest feature upgrade isn't the game-changer that many Switch users (or prospective owners) hoped for. But as a handheld player who has never felt comfortable committing to the Switch Lite, it looks to be the perfect fit for my use-case.The Switch OLED's upgrades are undoubtedly minimal. The simple fact that Nintendo is naming it after its biggest new feature--the new, slightly larger OLED screen--should show that this is more of a step than a leap. It packs some other improvements, like a better kickstand, more internal storage, and a LAN port built into the dock. None are exactly earth-shattering, especially when compared to expectations that a new Switch would bring performance upgrades including the ability to output to 4K. A real "Switch Pro" upgrade with 4K support and a faster processor may still be coming, but this isn't it. And while a technical upgrade would be welcome as some games have shown poorly against the hardware's limitations, the OLED model feels like a welcome upgrade until that theoretical newer model shows up.I've always treated the Nintendo Switch as a handheld system. I can probably count the number of times I've docked it on both hands, and it's never stayed docked for long. This habit made the Nintendo Switch Lite a tempting proposition: A smaller form factor and bright colors looked like a fun way to keep playing my Switch library in a method more akin to my long history with Nintendo handhelds.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

F9, the latest movie in the Fast & furious series, held onto the top slot in the July 4 box office chart. Despite competition from two high profile new releases, F9 made $24 million in its second week of release, bringing its US total to $117 million. Worldwide, the movie has now made more than $500 million, by far the biggest gross of the pandemic era.The animated sequel The Boss Baby: Family Business was the week's highest new entry at No.2, making $17.3 million in its first three days. While this is below the $50 million opening gross of 2017's The Boss Baby, it's a solid result given the new movie also premiered simultaneously on NBCUniversal's streaming service Peacock.Another sequel, The Forever Purge, entered the chart at No.3 with a $12.8 million gross. This is the lowest opening of any movie in the Purge series to date, but as Box Office Mojo notes, the modest production costs of the horror franchise means that the films don't need to be massive hits to be considered successful.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The new movie has the traditional horror movie setting of a summer camp--Camp Nightwing--and yet more bloody mayhem quickly ensues, with a bag-headed killer picking off the kids.
