Eleven, Hopper, the Demigorgon, and the Mind Flayer have arrived in the world of Hi-Rez Studios' free-to-play MOBA Smite as part of the game's new Stranger Things battle pass, alongside a plethora of balance changes as part of the game's 8.7 mid-season update. The Stranger Things crossover doesn't add new gods for players to play as necessarily, but rather reskins existing ones in the likeness of some of the most popular characters and creatures from Netflix's hit-show. Hopper, for example, is a skin for the god Apollo, while Eleven is a skin for Scylla. The skins come as part of the game's paid battle pass, though there are a few Stranger Things-themed icons and titles available for free as well. Players who complete the battle pass's first 60 levels will unlock the prestige track of the battle pass, which contains additional skins for Hopper and Eleven. But even for those who aren't a fan of Stranger Things, there's plenty for players to sink their teeth into with the new Smite update. Numerous changes to the game's relics are now live, as are balance updates for a number of the game's playable gods including Artemis, Hades, Mulan, Odin, Tiamat, and more.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The Fortnite Inflate-A-Bull has debuted in the game today as part of a small hotfix to Epic's ever-popular battle royale game, introducing a brand-new way for players to explore the island. The Inflate-A-Bull is not a weapon, but it might be exactly what you need to survive the Storm, as well as threats both human and AI. Here's what you need to know about the Inflate-A-Bull.Inflate-A-Bull: How It WorksThe Inflate-A-Bull is a new inventory item you can deploy simply by jumping when it's equipped in your inventory, similar to when a Hop Flopper is active. Unlike the Hop Flopper or chicken-gliding, the Inflate-A-Bull is not a real animal, but a balloon meant to look like a cow, which you'll enter into head-to-toe as you bounce around the map. For those who played the Marvel-centric Season 4, the Inflate-A-Bull is most like Groot's Bramble, a sphere that allows players to move faster down slopes and be protected from damage. The Inflate-A-Bull will pop when shot but will also absorb those shots, protecting you from the initial volley of ammo. When popped, it won't disappear from your inventory either. Instead, it will use a cooldown timer before it can be deployed again. The Inflate-A-Bull will also attract Saucers piloted by NPC "trespassers," or aliens to those not in the Imagined Order, but the increased jumping ability and faster speeds may prove worth the trouble of some extra attention.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Ryan Reynolds has released a new video of himself as Deadpool, talking about the actor's favorite subject: Ryan Reynolds. The nearly five-minute clip has Deadpool teaming up with actor-director Taika Waititi as as Korg from Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame doing a reaction video for Reynold's upcoming Free Guy, which is due in theaters on August 13.The video, which Reynolds uploaded to both Twitter and YouTube, has a teasing caption describing it as "two members of the MCYouTube react to the upcoming film Free Guy." While this framing is certain to drive plenty of wild speculation--it's Deadpool's first official crossover appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe--it is worth tempering future rumors and speculation by stating that while Waititi and Reynolds do both star in Free Guy, they're in completely different roles. Check out the video below to enjoy all the meta goodness, which mocks the movie's repeated delays, tropes of movie criticism, and Disney+.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

A new update for Xbox consoles is aimed at giving parents more control over their child's spending habits. With the new update, you'll be able to add money to your child's account directly through the app, which they can then spend as they'd like on games or in-game items. The new settings can be adjusted through the Xbox Family Settings app on iOS and Android.According to the Xbox blog, you can view your child's account balance and spending history. You can also turn on an "Ask to Buy" feature that will let your kid request a purchase that they'd like, and then you can either approve (and add funds) or deny the request. The blog also suggests parents may want to integrate this system into things like a reward structure for finishing chores or doing well in school. The increments shown for adding money to your child's account are $10, $15, $25, $50, $75, and $100. The family settings app also allows you to manage settings like creating child accounts, setting screen time limits, and managing who your kids can play with online.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

A lot of the gameplay in Company of Heroes 3 is what you'd expect. It's the return of Relic Entertainment's brand of World War II real-time strategy, requiring tight command of squads and vehicles that's more about directing your soldiers to cover and executing flanking maneuvers than fast movement, tons of units, and lots of mouse clicks. What's striking about the next entry in Relic's long-running strategy series is that it's basically two games in one, with a whole additional turn-based strategy game on top of the RTS. That new second half works to give you more control over the flow of the war effort--and lets you essentially create a single-player campaign of your own.We recently spent around four hours playing an early preview build of Company of Heroes 3 on PC, which gave a look at how Relic's return to World War II will function. It contains a lot of alterations that give you greater command of the battlefield, both squad-by-squad and on a much larger scale. The changes make Company of Heroes 3's single-player mode feel pretty enormous, while giving you a huge amount of control over how your campaign plays out.CoH 3 puts you in control of the Allied campaign in the Mediterranean, a portion of the war Relic says has been neglected in media over the years, and which contains a lot of lesser-known but no-less-heroic stories. Our play session had us pushing up from the coastal city of Naples in an attempt to capture the mountain cathedral stronghold of Montecassino. That campaign through coastal towns was handled on the Dynamic Campaign Map, which is reminiscent of what you might see in big turn-based titles like the Civilization series. It shows towns, roads, and your military forces almost like pieces on a game board, giving you a broad-strokes idea of how the war is playing out and operating as each side takes turns moving forces and attacking different locations.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

On the next episode of NXT, airing Tuesday, July 13, on USA, WWE superstar Johnny Gargano has the chance to become a two-time NXT champion when he steps in the ring with reigning title holder Karrion Kross. And while Kross, thus far, has been one of the most dominant stars in NXT history, Gargano likes his odds."I think I have a need to win," the man fans have dubbed Johnny Wrestling said during an appearance on Wrestle Buddies, GameSpot's professional wrestling podcast. "You talk about Karrion Kross, you talk about the most dominant NXT champion of all time, maybe. He is the big bad, he is the big boss at the end of a video game. And who better to go against the big boss at the end of the video game than Johnny Wrestling himself, right?"What makes Gargano the man to beat Kross and represent the NXT brand once again? His reasoning is simple. "I think when you're the NXT champion, people think that they have this idea that you're the best, right? You have the title, that means you are the best at what you do," he explained. "I do not want to live in a world where people think Karrion Kross is better than Johnny Gargano. That is why I need to win."Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Something funny is going on with Call of Duty: Warzone's Red Doors, and Activision continues to tease them ahead of the Season 4 Reloaded update.Warzone's Red Doors were added with the launch of Season 4, and initially, they were randomly spawning doors that would appear in the walls of buildings at major points of interest such as Hospital, Stadium, and Summit. Entering a Red Door instantly warps the player to a loot-filled room in another area of the map. And since players are sent somewhere completely random, it really doesn't serve as proper fast travel. It's just a great way to gear up with high-quality weapons and killstreaks.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Diablo 2: Resurrected's technical Alpha let players go hands-on with the updated ARPG classic back in April, and now Blizzard is outlining what changes are coming to the game based on players' feedback. Most of the changes are minor in nature, but do go to show the attention to detail Blizzard is putting into the remaster, which keeps the gameplay of the original Diablo 2 intact but features new visuals which can be toggled on or off. Spell effects, like the Sorceress' Lightning and Blizzard, have been updated in the game's new visuals to more closely match that of the original game, as has the Paladin's Holy Freeze ability. Icons for various items like potions, weapons, and armor, have been slightly tweaked to add more clarity and color. One larger change Blizzard says came about after "careful consideration" and that will make loot hoarders happy: The game's shared stash is increasing in size from one tab to three.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a stunning game, and one that will easily tax the most powerful PCs out there to run at its highest level of detail. That makes today's release of Nvidia DLSS support for the open-world game so exciting, letting Nvidia customers enjoy higher framerates without much compromise. If you're unfamiliar, DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) is Nvidia's proprietary upscaling solution, utilizing specific machine-learning cores in its RTX line of GPUs. Games that support it can be rendered at a lower resolution, allowing you to enjoy higher framerates, while the deep learning algorithm upscales the result with little to no image quality impact. It's a feature that has really bolstered Nvidia's position in the GPU market, with AMD still trying to come up with a suitable competitor. With Red Dead Redemption 2, Nvidia is saying you can expect up to 45% better performance when using the "Performance" DLSS preset, which renders the game at a quarter of your native resolution. That means rendering the game at 1080p on a 4K display, for example.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Emily somehow gets infected in this perturbing exchange, much to Sean's chagrin. Check out Stay's gut-wrenching ending for yourself in the video below.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

Prior to creating its iconic Doom franchise and establishing itself as the premier first-person shooter developer, Id Software created the Commander Keen franchise, and this began in an unexpected way--a rejected port of Super Mario Bros. 3 for MS-DOS. While Nintendo wasn't interested in bringing the game to PC, the Museum of Play has managed to track down a copy.Acquired via an anonymous game developer who did not work on the game, the Super Mario Bros. 3 pitch disk was actually donated as part of a larger game collection, according to the Museum's Andrew Borman in a conversation with GameSpot. A video had been posted online a few years back by former Id designer John Romero, known as the godfather of the first-person shooter for his work on Doom, but the actual game was not released into the wild.👀👀@museumofplay pic.twitter.com/j0tLgNxz3l — Andrew Borman (@Borman18) July 13, 2021Now, a backup exists on the Museum of Play's system, and the staff was able to verify its legitimacy and will allow researchers to visit and play it in the future.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
