In Ted Lasso Season 2 Episode 5, "Rainbow," the eponymous coach tries to cheer up the losing AFC Richmond team by describing the philosophy of "Rom-communism." You have to trust, Ted tells his squad, that things will work out, like they always do in romantic comedies--maybe not the way you want, maybe not the way you expect, but they will, in fact, work out.At the time, it struck me as a weird thing for the coach of a losing soccer club to tell his struggling team. I get what Ted was going for--it's a philosophy of avoiding frustration and hopelessness about things outside of your control, and trusting that this, too, shall pass. For a guy whose big central tenet is "Believe," outwardly, it's an idea that tracks. But something about the whole speech felt wrong, somehow. Ted's job is to motivate players to win, and his philosophy of believing in people is an active approach, pushing them to do better, to achieve more. Rom-communism is a passive ideal, and poorly suited to a situation in which the team is struggling. "Don't sweat the losses" is good advice--"trust that everything will handle itself," though? That's not coaching, that's wishful thinking, and it seems like something that doesn't jive with what we've previously seen of Ted's personality.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

The Season of the Lost brings a new slate of Exotics to Destiny 2, and one of them has already become a must-have item that will surely be nerfed. That item is Radiant Dance Machines, a Hunter Exotic that is helping players create some ridiculous builds, whether in the Crucible, Gambit, or PvE activities.Radiant Dance Machines are new to Destiny 2, but they were originally found in Destiny 1, where they increased your movement speed while you were aiming down the sights of a weapon. In Destiny 2, however, they've gotten an overhaul: they now allow you to use your Hunter dodge ability multiple times in a row for five seconds, so long as you are within a certain proximity of an enemy. The thing is, Hunter dodges can be made to do a lot of cool things, and Radiant Dance Machines makes a useful ability into an absolutely broken one.The trick to using Radiant Dance Machines to break Destiny 2 is pairing it with the right additional items. There are a number of mods that give you benefits when you use your dodge ability, and pairing these up with the Exotic allows you to take serious advantage.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com

After teasing the reveal last week, Activision has peeled back the layers behind Call Of Duty: Vanguard's campaign during Gamescom, showcasing more of the WWII shooter in an extended demo. The showcase focused on Laura Bailey's character, Polina, a Russian soldier based on one of the deadliest snipers in WWII history. Bailey described Polina as a "no-nonsense" soldier who has "looked the devil in the eye and said, 'I'm comin' for you.'"In the gameplay video, we see Polina sneaking through an enemy encampment, stabbing someone in the face and then blasting her way through the building with a powerful shotgun. The demo then took Polina out onto the streets where she had to dodge a tank and sneak up on enemies. There was also a sniping section where Polina displayed her skills with a long rifle. Later, Polina gets whacked in the face with a rifle and the game then jumps back in time to "one hour earlier," with Polina walking through a friendly camp and preparing to sign up to serve in the war. Bombers come crashing in overhead and Polina makes a mad dash to cover to stay alive in a very Call of Duty-style set piece. And then in an Uncharted-style sequence, Polina climbs through a burning building that is crumbling around her, and this is where the demo cuts out before teasing some of what to expect from the rest of the campaign.Continue Reading at GameSpotInfo from Gamespot.com
