Microsoft finally announced Halo Infinite's release date--December 8, 2021--as part of Geoff Keighley's Gamescom Opening Night Live event on Wednesday. The date is later in the year than many might have expected or hoped for. In fact, it's the latest date in the year ever for a new Halo game, with Halo: Combat Evolved (November 15, 2001) previously holding that designation.For comparison, Halo: Combat Evolved launched in November 2001, Halo 2 debuted in November 2004, Halo 3 came out in September 2007, and Halo 4 launched in November 2008. Halo 5, which is the latest entry in the mainline series, premiered in October 2015.According to Piers Harding-Rolls of Ampere Analysis, Microsoft's decision to release Halo Infinite in December might come down to the company choosing to compromise. Grand Theft Auto Online's latest update seems to pay tribute to the original high-end criminal: pirates. Along with the usual suite of discounts, bonuses, and a new vehicle to purchase, players can find shipwrecks along the game's coasts this week with scraps of clothing that can be combined into an old-timey outfit.This week's GTA Online update was shared via the Rockstar Newswire, but you can find all the important details down below.Land ho!The standout additions to GTA Online this week are the shipwrecks that are turning up on the shores of Los Santos. In an update to its anti-discrimination lawsuit against Activision Blizzard, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing has accused the video game conglomerate of shredding evidence related to the investigation.According to Axios, the DFEH said Activision Blizzard has engaged in activity that made it noncompliant with the investigation. During a Dying 2 Know presentation at this year's Gamescom, Techland confirmed previous rumors that Dying Light would be heading to the Switch. While it was revealed that Switch players will be getting the game's Platinum Edition, a specific release date for Dying Light was not announced.It doesn't seem that players will be able to choose between a regular version of Dying Light and the game's Platinum Edition. The latter comes with all of the game's DLC and expansions, including Hellraid, which was originally going to release as its own game. However, the game's price varies depending on what platform it's being purchased on. On Steam, Dying Light Platinum Edition is currently on sale for $103, while the PlayStation Store lists the game at just $50. In response to someone asking about the mini-fridge, the general manager of Xbox game marketing Aaron Greenberg confirmed that it is still set to release this holiday and the company will share more when they can.Shown as a "World Premiere" during Xbox's E3 2021 showcase, the Xbox Mini-Fridge is shaped like an Xbox Series X console and appears to hold about 10 12oz cans inside. But Reid must feed, and the same people he wants to save are the very ones who can give him more power, amplifying his supernatural abilities. Finishing the game gets more difficult if you've sacrificed key citizens, but individual battles and encounters are much easier because of the boosts you receive. See at Amazon Wasteland 3 InXile Entertainment certainly proved its value to Microsoft, as the Wasteland 3 developer was made an internal Xbox studio prior to the game's release. Like its predecessor, also developed by inXile, Wasteland 3 captures the best of classic CRPG games while remaining playable with a gamepad, and the turn-based combat system means you don't need to rush to make decisions and risk endangering your whole squad. It also features the level of player choice and agency that you'd expect from the genre, and its gorgeous take on the harsh post-apocalyptic winter serves as a constant threat to your safety. You're locked in as Geralt, but he's an interesting enough character that it doesn't feel limiting, and the expansive world is filled with secrets and activities to keep you thoroughly distracted from doing whatever you actually set out to do. After establishing itself for well over a decade as a brawling-centric open-world series, Sega took things in a very different direction with Yakuza: Like a Dragon, implementing a turn-based combat system meant to emphasize new protagonist Ichiban Kasuga's love of role-playing games. In traditional Yakuza fashion, things get reallyweird, with Ichiban menacingly pressing a button on his phone to call down special attacks for massive damage. Nintendo has announced the Pokemon TV App for Nintendo Switch and it's available now for free.
